Israel Spared the Life of Hamas Oct. 7 Mastermind Twice. Now It Has Vowed to Kill Him

'The fact that we saved his life cost hundreds of children and old people their lives,' a tearful former Israeli prison official said

Yahya Sinwar, accused of giving the go-ahead for the surprise Oct. 7 terror attacks against Israel, was diagnosed with a brain abscess while locked up in 2004, said Yuval Biton, who at the time was the head of intelligence for the Israel Prison Service.

"If it had burst, he could have said goodbye," Biton, who was also Sinwar's dentist, told Israel's Channel 12 on Oct. 27, according to Germany's Der Spiegel news website.

"Israeli doctors saved his life."

Biton also said his nephew was among those kidnapped from the Nir Oz kibbutz on Oct. 7 and was believed to be one of the more than 240 people being held captive by Hamas terrorists who slaughtered more than 1,400.

"The fact that we saved his life cost hundreds of children and old people their lives," Biton said with tears in his eyes.

Gaza: Armed Palestinian Groups Commit Grave Crimes | Human Rights Watch (hrw.org)
[...]

In internal Palestinian fighting over the last three days, both Fatah and Hamas military forces have summarily executed captives, killed people not involved in hostilities, and engaged in gun battles with one another inside and near Palestinian hospitals. ...

“These attacks by both Hamas and Fatah constitute brutal assaults on the most fundamental humanitarian principles,” said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director for Human Rights Watch. “The murder of civilians not engaged in hostilities and the willful killing of captives are war crimes, pure and simple.”

On Sunday, Hamas military forces captured 28-year-old Muhammad Swairki, a cook for President Mahmoud Abbas’s presidential guard, and executed him by throwing him to his death, with his hands and legs tied, from a 15-story apartment building in Gaza City. ...

In addition, Fatah and Hamas forces engaged in battles in and around two Gaza Strip hospitals on Monday. After Hamas fighters killed Fatah intelligence officer Yasir Bakar, Fatah gunmen began firing mortars and rocket-propelled grenades at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, drawing Hamas fire from inside the building, killing one Hamas and one Fatah fighter

[...]

This exemplifies the ethos of Hamas (as well as other Palestinian groups) shortly after Hamas came to power in Gaza.

They haven’t changed, they have no intention of changing, they have it in their charter and they mean what they say.

Anyone who expects anything else from Hamas is being deceived. They’re not remorseful—they’re exultant.

After October 7th, there is no other recourse, for Israel or the free world, except to yank out Hamas by the root and destroy them.

The only way out is through.

It’s terrible for Israel that they must bear the brunt of this…if not for Israel, Hamas would already be at our doors.

Gaza E.R. ~ Hamas Hiding in Shifa Hospital? | Wide Angle | PBS
[...]

“Shifa Hospital has long ago ceased to be just a hospital,” Israeli Public Security Minister and former intelligence chief Avi Dichter said on Monday. “It is somewhat of an open secret that Hamas commanders walk around the hospital, in some instances wearing doctor’s robes,” Dichter said.

[...]

But WIDE ANGLE reached a doctor in Gaza who believes Hamas officials are hiding either in the basement or in a separate underground area underneath the hospital and said that they moved there recently because other locations have been destroyed by Israel. The doctor, who asked not to be named, added that he believes Hamas is aware that they are putting civilians in harm’s way.

PA: Hamas converts hospitals into jails (ynetnews.com)
The Palestinian Health Ministry, run by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, accused Hamas' security apparatus Saturday of commandeering a number of hospital wards in the Gaza Strip for the purpose of converting them into interrogation and imprisonment compounds.

According to Palestinian news agency Ma'an, the Palestinian Health Ministry claimed that Hamas members expelled them and full medical teams from hospital wards despite the serious security situation.

A communiqué put out by the ministry said that "following the unilateral cessation of Israeli aggression against our people, the Ministry of Health, along with all the Palestinian people, was shocked to discover that Hamas militias have returned to their old ways and have expelled all the medical staff responding to the calls of the homeland (to continue their work.) Unfortunately, these same militias used the medical centers, especially in a number of hospitals, converting them into centers for interrogation, torture, and imprisonment."

[...]

In addition, the Ministry also called Hamas "to halt the stealing of medical aid sent to the Strip most of which (Hamas) has redirected to the organization's warehouses and centers."

The remarks were made in reference to the equipment reportedly stolen from UNRWA aid sent to the Gaza Strip, a incident that led the UN organization to cease its operations in Gaza.

‘The Abducted Hearts’ exhibit embodies the enormity of 242 hostages in Gaza

In the courtyard of Ness Ziona’s cultural center, a month of the Israel-Hamas war is marked with stark black life-sized silhouettes of the people who were kidnapped on October 7

Called “The Abducted Hearts,” Ness Ziona and the hostage families’ organization Bring Them Home Now have installed 242 cast iron statues, one to represent each individual hostage, each with a heart-shaped hole in its center.

The all-black statues are cut to represent the different ages and types of people captured on October 7 — from a caregiver pushing an elderly man in a wheelchair to a baby holding a teddy bear. There are adults and youths, and movingly, a woman sitting on the ground with her knees to her chest, screaming.

A massive wall with the now familiar “kidnapped” posters gives a backdrop to the statues. The posters include the portraits and names of Hadar Goldin and Shaul Oron, two Israeli soldiers killed in the 2014 Gaza War whose bodies have been held by Hamas since then.

On the other side of the wall of the 242 kidnapped and missing posters is a space where locals have painted and drawn their own tributes. Several have painted colorful flowers, others have penned blessings or quoted biblical verses. There is a jar of markers for any who are moved to add to the visual offerings

ENOUGH! There is NO justification for tearing down flyers of kidnapped children.
It is not related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
It is not related to your opinion on the IDF or Israel or Nakba or anything else.
This is antisemitic massacre denial and gaslighting of the collective Jewish community, and it is an insult to the Israeli Arab and Jewish hostages who were kidnapped by Hamas.
Anyone who tears down a flyer should face social and legal consequences.

Hamas Spokesman: A Truce Means Preparing for the Next Battle (VIDEO) - Algemeiner.com
Mushir Al Masri, a Hamas MP and media spokesman, told an Arabic-language television interviewer that Hamas has no intention of reaching a long-term truce or a peace agreement with Israel, and would use any lull in fighting to re-arm its troops.

Hamas rejected an early ceasefire proposal from Egypt and its leader Khaled Mashaal, exiled in Doha, has reportedly also nixed a proposal put forward by the Qatari regime, which backs the militant group financially.

Al Masri was photographed last week being interviewed on camera, in front of a backdrop showing a destroyed house, but inside of Gaza’s Al Shifa hospital, where Hamas has established its headquarters, in violation of international rules of war.

Posting a photo to Twitter of a Hamas spokesman being interviewed on camera, Nick Casey, The Wall Street Journal‘s Middle East Correspondent, wondered how patients there might feel about Hamas using the hospital as a “de facto headquarters for Hamas leaders, who can be seen in the hallways and offices,” as reported by The Washington Post last week.

During the 15 days of Israel’s Operation Protective Edge, Hamas has been caught using hospitals, mosques and schools to hide militants and weapons, all of which are contrary to international rules of war created to protect civilians.

“In the last 24 hours, the IDF delivered 300 liters of fuel to the Shifa Hospital's doorstep, yet the fuel remains untouched after Hamas threatened hospital staff.”

The IDF is doing everything it can to mitigate harm to Gazan civilians and increase humanitarian aid. Our war is with Hamas—not with the people of Gaza.

Yoav Atzmoni:“My intention was to plant the first pride flag in Gaza as a call for peace and as a message of freedom”“Before entering Gaza, I asked my partner to bring me two pride flags: The first is an Israeli flag in pride colours that I pose with on a tank. It sends two messages:There is an internal message to Israel: that we carry obligations towards the state and must demand gay rights here - not necessarily to marry and start a family, but something more basic - the right to security as LGBTQ people, the right to respect, the right to be part of the national ethos, the right to be counted and recognizedThe external message to the world is that despite the pain of war - the IDF is the ONLY army in the Middle East that defends democratic values. It is the ONLY army that allows gay people the freedom to be who we are. And so I fully believe in the righteousness of our cause. The second flag is a simple pride flag that represents global solidarity. When I entered Gaza, I knew I would write a message in three languages, but I hadn't yet decided what to say. (I should mention that I speak both spoken and literary Arabic). In the early days of the conflict I saw the Arabic inscription 'Bismillah' ('In the Name of God') on many housesI decided to correspond with this by writing "Bismilahav" - which means "In the Name of Love" Additionally, 'In the Name of Love' is a song by the band U2 that I really like!”#LGBT #LGBTQ #LGBTQIA

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but the brother of Yahya Sinwar - Mohammed Sinwar - was thought to be dead in 2014. Turns out he is not dead, and is part of the core group who is behind the Oct 7th attack on Israel.

An IDF tweet announced its troops raided a Hamas military post and training outpost on Saturday, killing 30 Hamas fighters.

Inside, “the soldier searched the office of Mohammed Sinwar, brother of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, where military doctrine documents were located.”

Analysts immediately realised Mohammed Sinwar was supposed to be dead.

Hamas in 2014 “admitted” Sinwar’s death and released a photo appearing to show his body on a bloodstained bed. Israel pointed to the killing as proving the success of its “targeted” Gaza assault.

US West Point military academy analysts say such deception is something intelligence agencies must be aware of. And they must be willing to challenge their own convictions.

Who is Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar - the 'butcher of Khan Younis' Israel claims to have trapped in a bunker?

"He would read Israeli newspapers on a daily basis. He understood them way better than they understood him - hence his ability to deceive them and catch them off guard by executing his military operation so effectively in October 2023," an expert tells Sky News.

"World Health Organization says Gaza's main hospital is 'not functioning' after heavy airstrikes left it without electricity and desperately short of supplies - amid war of words over whether Israel or Hamas are to blame for babies being trapped there."

"A heart-breaking photo shows seven newborn babies wrapped in green scrubs laid beside each other on a bed after they were taken out of incubators due to a power outage at Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza Strip."

I'm admittedly a bit incensed that they took these infants from their incubators for this sad photo.
At least three of them aren't even wrapped up to help keep them warm.
We've seen from photos that the electricity is working, and if they need fuel they can start making demands from the ones who are holding it -- the terrorists.

I lost hope that this land will ever be peaceful.
This hatred is terrifying.

JMO
Don't let it terrify you. Instead, see it for what it is and wait it out. Pour your heart, prayers and total sympathy onto the families having to endure this incredible torture.

The goal of hatred is to terrify. It is a form of bullying and reflects a cult mentality which is all about totally controlling others. It has been happening for centuries. The Alhambra Decree was signed in 1492 and Spain's monarchs' goal was to either expel Jews from Spain or change their religion. Many chose to leave. Can't say that I blame them.

Ireland used to be one country. The hatred between the Catholics and the Protestants resulted in The Troubles war which lasted 30 years until 1998. Now, the Republic of Ireland is an independent state.

More recently in the U.S., a faction of a political party are extremists who want authoritarian control over reproductive health rights, marriage rights, what books a child can read, what a child learns in public schools, etc. The elections in several states earlier this week didn't go well for the extremists wanting control.

The generators have been working but are low on fuel. Their fuel isn't electricity. The ventilation systems in the hospital also aren't working. The babies in the NICU are being subjected to room temps in a building in a warm climate. This is healthy? No, it is not.
