Yuval and Noam Rabia, 33 & 30: Brothers slain at Psyduck festival

Murdered by Hamas terorrists near Kibbutz Nirim, October 7

Yuval and Noam Rabia, 33 and 30, brothers from the small southern moshav of Yesha, were murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7 at the Psyduck music festival near Kibbutz Nirim.

Noy Zaafrani, Yuval’s fiance, was also murdered in the attack on the party.

Another cousin, Yahel Ben-Elisha, recalled their shared memories and mourned their loss in a Facebook post.

“It’s strange for me to admit that together with the eternal sadness that has landed on me, I am also happy,” he wrote. “I am happy that I even had the privilege to be part of your world, and to draw so much inspiration, warmth, love and knowledge from you. I’m happy that you were my cousins with such pure hearts, always making everyone laugh, always beloved, talented in every 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 thing you touched.”

Thank you, Israel!

Israel's chief military spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, said the Israeli military would help evacuate babies from the hospital.

"The staff of the Shifa hospital has requested that tomorrow we help the babies in the pediatric department to get to a safer hospital. We will provide the assistance needed," he said.

Israel has said doctors, patients and thousands of evacuees who have taken refuge at hospitals in northern Gaza must leave so it can tackle Hamas gunmen who it says have placed command centres under and around them.

How does he know that the IDF bombed the hospital? He's making an assumption that Hamas is not killing their own people, but we know that Hamas is killing civilians in Gaza.
Also, they obviously still have communications to be relaying these messages, so they're not completely alone and isolated, imo.

In Gaza, there is a growing generation that will soon turn 18 and has never known at least relative peace.
Since 2006, the Gaza Strip has been simply cut off from the world. People who were born under this blockade know no other world than war.
They will therefore be more willing to take up arms because they have nothing to lose.

What will future bring to Gaza?

Why people there cannot Iive in peace?
Where are true diplomats who will help to find truce?

I think Blinken is still there trying to help. The bigger problem: will the PM listen to him and take his advice?

To Tibon, it was all a diversion from Israel's own security. Since Oct. 7, divisions among Israelis over Netanyahu's policies have now given way to greater unity — against the prime minister.

"Acts of war" in Gaza hospitals "unconscionable, reprehensible and must stop," UN's top humanitarian chief says

From CNN's Jonny Hallam

The UN's top humanitarian aid chief Martin Griffiths on Saturday condemned attacks on healthcare facilities after recent strikes in the Gaza Strip.
"Hospitals must be places of greater safety, not of war," Griffiths wrote in a post on X.

"There can be no justification for acts of war in healthcare facilities, leaving them with no power, food or water, and shooting at patients and civilians trying to flee," he said.

Griffiths also said that people using and working at Gazan healthcare facilities "must trust that they are places of shelter and not of war."

Dual Israeli-Azerbaijani citizen, Shamil was a competitive computer gamer. When driving two girls from Supernova rave he told them to duck for cover before he was shot on October 7

Shamil Abassov, 33, was killed by terrorist who opened fire at his taxi on October 7, 2023.

Shamil, a dual Israeli-Azerbaijani citizen who immigrated to Israel, was driving two girls from the outdoor party at Re’im when he encountered a group of terrorists ambushing vehicles along the road. He managed to warn his passengers to take cover before the gunmen shot him dead. The car veered off the road into a forest. The two passengers were found hours later, alive, having survived the attack.

Shamil’s brother, Daniel, eulogized him saying “to your last moment you watched out for others and saved civilians,” the local Beersheva B7net outlet reported.

Wasn't trying to be disrespectful. I was just surprised not to see Arabic on the board, as it's a Palestinian hospital, that's all.
British doctors have been going there for years. ( I guess that's true of other nations's doctors too)
I think that message is in English because it's both a more universal language and HCW are desperate to get their messages out. There was an item on Sky earlier but this tweet sums up the item:

French march against antisemitism shakes up far right and far left

Something unprecedented is happening this weekend in Paris, brought about by the war between Israel and Hamas and its spill-over in Europe.

For the first time ever, a major demonstration attended by representatives of the major political parties will include the far right - but not the far left.
On Sunday afternoon thousands of people are expected to heed a call from the Speakers of the two houses of parliament to show their support for French "Republican" values and their rejection of antisemitism - this in the face of a steep rise in antisemitic actions since 7 October.

Among the first to announce their presence were Marine Le Pen, three-times presidential candidate for the National Rally (formerly the National Front), and the party's young president, Jordan Bardella.

KEY POINTS

  • Israeli shelling and ground attacks intensified around hospitals in Gaza city and northern Gaza (hereafter: the north) on 11 November, with several being directly hit. According to media reports, civilians, patients, and staff were shot at while attempting to flee the Shifa hospital in Gaza city.
  • On 11 November, power at the Shifa and the Indonesian hospital (northern Gaza) was reportedly cut off after fuel for generators ran out; generators at Al Quds hospital (Gaza city) failed and could not be repaired due to the bombardment and fighting. At Shifa, two babies died when their life support stopped working and 37 babies in incubators are at imminent risk of death, according to the Ministry of Health in Ramallah.
  • Hospitals are explicitly entitled to specific protection under international humanitarian law (IHL). They must not be used to shield military objectives from attack. Any military operation around or within hospitals must take steps to spare the patients, medical staff, and other civilians, who must be protected under IHL. All feasible precautions must be taken to avoid incidental civilian harm, including effective warnings, which take into account the ability of patients, medical staff and other civilians to evacuate safely.
