Iraq: In Mosul Battle, ISIS Used Hospital Base

Dragged, Hanged Government Soldiers’ Bodies

PRESS RELEASE | Dec. 8, 2016

Coalition Strikes Mosul Hospital

CJTFOIR
December 8, 2016
Release #20161208-01
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SOUTHWEST ASIA — On Dec. 6th, Iraqi Security Forces attempted to seize the Al Salem hospital complex from ISIL fighters in the heart of East Mosul. ISIL was using the hospital as a base of operations and command and control headquarters. After seizing the area, the ISF fought off several counterattacks and six VBIEDs the following day before retrograding a short distance, under heavy enemy fire, to strengthen their position.

On Dec. 7th, after Iraqi forces continued to receive heavy and sustained machine gun and rocket propelled grenade fire from ISIL fighters in a building on the hospital complex, they requested immediate support from the Coalition. In support of the Iraqi Security Forces, Coalition aircraft conducted a precision strike on the location to target enemy fighters firing on Iraqi forces.

The Coalition complies with the Law of Armed Conflict and takes all feasible precautions during the planning and execution of airstrikes to reduce the risk of harm to non-combatants. We will continue to strike ISIL military targets in support of our partners in order to defeat ISIL in Iraq.

About 40 Spanish citizens were evacuated from Gaza on Monday through the Rafah border crossing into Egypt, Reuters reported that acting foreign minister José Manuel Albares said.

Albares said in a press briefing:

I confirm that 33 Spanish-Palestinians to be precise and 7 family members have already crossed the Egyptian checkpoint at the border between Gaza and Egypt at Rafah.
He added that Spain had received authorisation from Israel for a second group of about 80 people to leave Gaza on Tuesday.

But I mean all these protesters who profess to care so much about the Palestinian people.
My guess, many of the protestors have no idea where Gaza is and are not knowledgeable about the history, conflict or current situation. They, also, deny the massacre of 10/7. I have seen videos of some of these march organizers and its mind boggling. If they cared so much about humanity, they would be “marching” for the innocent civilians slaughtered in Syria, Iran and other countries.

But, of course! Journalists reporting facts are now being labeled 'fake news' by the IDF.

JMO
Well, if they are the same 'journalists' seen filming while also carrying a live grenade, or photoshopping an image of a resting Israeli soldier to make it seem as if he's 'enjoying tea' and painting grafitti onto a Palestinian home, or cropping photos of infants who supposedly had to be removed from their incubators due to lack of power while a doctor just outside of the cropped area clearly is working with equipment that has power, or (still) insisting the story is that Israel bombed the hospital on 14 October rather than the factual misfired Hamas Rocket ... and a crap tonne of other debunked stories and photos such as their stories and insistence now that Hamas didn't kill any civilians on 7 October ....

Of course they are being called out as 'supposed journalists' propogating Fake News/Images and Stories. Not just by the IDF either.

Palestinian Doctors on the 10th stated the hospital was completely evacuated except for patients, staff and that they were continuing to take in casulaties ... the next day 'journalists' are saying there's 20-30 000 people still sheltering there. Which is it? What's the truth? Palestinian Doctors OR Palestinian Journalists? They can't even get their own stories straight amongst themselves right now and we are just supposed to give them a 'bye' and believe them?

Now that the infant photo has been proven as faked by cropping to show that there actually WAS power when they were claiming there was not, a couple Palestiian journalists are now staring to circulate the story on MSM with the photo and stating that the photo shows "babies shot in the crossfire between the IDF and Hamas" or "shot by the IDF while attacking the hospital".

That's truely despicable ... and untrue aka "fake". It really doesn't matter though as I think plenty of us realize that, to some, Israel will always be the bad guy regardless of the war crimes committed by Hamas terrorists that have put innocent Palestinian civilians at risk. In the long run, being Hamas apologists isn't ging to help those innocents out any and actually contributes to the prolongation of this war.

Really??

The IDF has been trying to get them to evacuate for well over a month. The IDF is evacuating their babies ... apparently some of them to Israeli Hospitals for medical treatment (waiting for an MSM link for that bit right now).

The IDF has set up evacuation corridors (that are being mortared and sniped by Hamas!!) to assist innocent Palestinans in moving southwards. The IDF is taking on Hamas and the tunnels to eliminate the terrorist infrastructure AND Hamas terrorists in order to protect Israeli's and the innocent Palestinian Gazan civilians who will continue to reside in Gaza post-Hamas era.

I think it's disingenious for anyone to claim that the Israeli's "don't care" or have "empathy" about/for innocent Palestinian civilians unless one wilfully disregards ALL the warnings, fliers, texts, phone calls, public statements AND concrete actions they've encouraged and taken to minimize harm to, and to encourage those civilians to take for 5 and 1/2 weeks now. If the IDF didn't have those things, it would and could have simply carpet bombed the entire of the Gaza Strip on 8 October and have been DONE with it all ... they knew (and some of us called it in this very thread) that they'd WEAR THE BLAME regardless of what they did. Soooooooo predictable.

One thing is certain, the IDF cares more about them that Hamas and their own government does. I have tonnes of empathy for the innocents --- what I don't have is sympathy for anyone who refuses to accept or even acknowledge who is actually to blame for their plight and deaths.

The news reports I read talk about IDF snipers around the hospital. Where did you please read about
that are being mortared and sniped by Hamas!!)

There is all this talk about evacuations but nowhere is safe in Gaza. Is there another hospital the evacuated hospitals are meant to go to? Where should they take all the patients (never mind the equipment, which they can’t run anyway).

I don’t know if the Palestinians feel the IDF cares about them. But then again they should feel lucky they weren’t carpet bombed in the first place.

Summary of the day so far

It’s nearly 9.30pm in Gaza City and Tel Aviv. Here’s a recap of the latest developments:

  • At least 11,240 Palestinians have been killed, including 4,630 children and 3,130 women, within the Gaza Strip by Israeli military actions since 7 October, the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza has said on Monday.
  • Israeli forces have reached the gates of Gaza’s largest hospital as hundreds of patients, including dozens of babies, remained trapped inside. Thousands of people have fled al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City, but health officials said the remaining patients were dying due to energy shortages amid intense fighting. At least 32 patients, including three premature babies, had died over the past three days, Gaza’s health ministry said.
  • All of the hospitals in northern Gaza are “out of service” amid fuel shortages and intense combat, the Hamas-run health ministry in the besieged territory has said on Monday. Two major hospitals in northern Gaza – al-Shifa and al-Quds – closed to new patients amid Israeli airstrikes and heavy fighting around both facilities as medical staff were left without oxygen, medical supplies or fuel to power incubators.

The Gaza hospital struggling on with battery power

A senior doctor at the Al-Awda hospital in northern Gaza has told the anti-poverty campaign group, ActionAid, that the hospital is using battery power to help with the delivering of babies and the treatment of the injured.

Al-Awda Hospital has closed its main generators and has been without electricity or fuel for three days, the doctor says.

Despite this, using power and light from batteries, the doctor says it has delivered 16 babies by caesarean sections on Sunday.

"We are now receiving about 18-20 newborn deliveries every 24 hours. I think this number will increase in the next days because people will come to Al-Awda Hospital from Gaza City.

"We are providing our services to injured patients from the northern area because Al-Awda Hospital is the only hospital in the northern area that is active and working."

Earlier, the Hamas-run health ministry told AFP news that all hospitals in the north of the enclave were "out of service".

"You look at the fridge, you see a family photo of five persons. A father, a mother, children. And then you look, you see five bodies lying on the floor, they wiped down the entire family."Listen to Jamal (Gimi), a Zaka volunteer for 13 years, a Muslim, an Arab and a proud Israeli, shares the horrors he has witnessed.

Communications in Gaza are heavily disrupted with little internet service

From CNN's Rachel Wilson

Gaza has faced frequent disruptions in communications and three near-total blackouts since Israel began to expand ground operations on October 27.

Hospitals in the north of Gaza — including the enclave's largest, Al-Shifa — are struggling to report their conditions from the inside with little internet service available or electricity. Humanitarian agencies have expressed concerns for the safety of the medical staff and difficulties providing care.

Communications in Gaza are heavily disrupted with little internet service

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Ramallah lost contact with hospitals in northern Gaza over the weekend amid Israeli attacks and was unable to update casualty figures until Monday.

More food, water, and medical supplies entered the Gaza Strip today. There is no limit. We invite international organizations to coordinate, and we will facilitate. We are in a war with Hamas, not the people in Gaza.

We can’t trust the journalists, we can’t trust the doctors, we can’t trust the UN or WHO or Children’s Aid or Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders or any other agencies, we can’t trust Palestinians and other witnesses as they may be HAMAS mouthpieces, we can’t trust anyone it seems other than the IDF itself.

It really confuses me. Hamas steals from the people, builds weapons instead of electricity or water plants, puts Palestinian children at risk by having munitions stored in schools and hospitals. But some people want them to stay in power.

It makes absolutely no sense to me.
