INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT IS GATHERING INFO ON ALLEGED CRIMES DURING ISRAEL-HAMAS WAR

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan says that his office has received “a significant volume of information and evidence” about alleged crimes committed during the Israel-Hamas war.

Khan did not elaborate on the nature of the information his office has received.

He made the comment in a written statement Friday confirming that South Africa, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Comoros, and Djibouti had made official state referrals to the court about the “Situation in the State of Palestine,” which his office has been investigating since March 2021. South Africa announced the referral on Thursday.

The ICC investigation dates back to the last major Israel-Hamas war in 2014 but also includes the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Khan says his prosecution office “will continue its engagement with all relevant actors, whether national authorities, civil society, survivor groups or international partners, to advance this investigation.”

He also says he will “continue my efforts to visit the State of Palestine and Israel in order to meet with survivors, hear from civil society organisations and engage with relevant national counterparts.”

There apparently is plenty of evidence. The media has called out Israel and President Biden for the propaganda and "war crimes." The priority should be the return of the hostages, not shooting civilian children, their mother and grandmother driving down the road. It took me several attempts to read this link because the examples were so sickening. smh

A few examples will suffice. On November 5, Israel bombed a car travelling from South Lebanon to Beirut. The IDF told the press that it “struck a vehicle in Lebanese territory that was identified as a suspicious vehicle containing several terrorists.”

In fact, as Human Rights Watch later established, the car was civilian, containing a grandmother, a mother, and three young girls. The mother was wounded; the grandmother and girls were killed.

Human Rights Watch concluded that this was an “apparent war crime” and “the attack on a vehicle containing only fleeing civilians shows reckless disregard by the Israeli military for its obligation to distinguish between civilian and military objects and a significant failure to take adequate safeguards to prevent civilian deaths.” Israel has promised an investigation, but based on previous experience that is likely to be slow and result only in a tepid admission of error.

AFGHANISTAN DENOUNCES ISRAEL’S ONGOING STRIKES IN GAZA

ISLAMABAD — Afghanistan’s Taliban-led administration denounced the ongoing Israeli strikes in Gaza, including the raid on Shifa Hospital. In an overnight statement, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Israeli forces were continually breaking all rules of war.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan called on the United Nations and other human rights bodies, saying that “if they genuinely believe in their stated values, they must prevent the ongoing brutalities by adopting an honest, transparent & just position vis-a-vis crimes against humanity carried out by the zionists against the people of Gaza,” the statement read, referring to Jews who seek to regain and retain their biblical homeland.

It also asked Arab and Islamic countries “to respond to the cries of the oppressed Muslims of Gaza, & to fulfill their religious & human responsibility through effective & meaningful positions & steps.”

The Taliban-led administration seized power in 2021, and since then the U.N. and other human rights groups have blamed it for human rights violations.

In September, the U.N. said it documented more than 1,600 cases of human rights violations committed by authorities in Afghanistan during arrests and detentions of people. At the time, it urged the Taliban government to stop torture and protect the rights of detainees. The report by the mission’s Human Rights Service covered 19 months — from January 2022 until the end of July 2023 — with cases documented across 29 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces. It said 11% of the cases involved women.

Limited internet, phone access restored in Gaza after generators get fuel

[...]

NetBlocks, a group tracking internet outages, confirmed that “internet connectivity is being partially restored” in the Gaza Strip.

On Thursday, Paltel announced that all communication services, including landline connection, mobile network and Internet connection, dropped due to a lack of fuel.

The next day, Israel agreed to allow two tanker trucks of fuel, equaling 60,000 liters (15,850 gallons), into the Gaza Strip each day.

A US State Department official said 10,000 liters of the daily intake will be used to power the enclave’s communications network.

ISRAEL SAYS ‘DIRE’ CONDITIONS IN SHIFA HOSPITAL AS TROOPS STILL SEARCHING FOR ALLEGED HAMAS COMMAND CENTER

JERUSALEM – More than two days after Israeli soldiers stormed Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza, doctors said they were amputating limbs to avoid infection and spoke of wounds festering with maggots, while Israel’s military said it was still searching for evidence to back up its allegations that Hamas used the hospital as a command center.

I think the IDF will destroy Hamas well before "most" Palestinian civilians die and humanitarian efforts swing into full speed. JMO.
I don't and too many have perished already

Continued bombing, meager medical help, lack of food and clean water, no electricity, decaying bodies, lack of adequate shelter and clothing, the list goes on and on. No telling how long they can hang on, especially the children, elders and infirm. Five weeks in and IDF is nowhere near their objective and vow to continue the assault. If this lasts long enough most will die.IMO

BBM. I'm appalled at the continued bombing of civilians and the horrible conditions in the Gaza hospitals. World leaders have been weighing in for the last several days about the obvious propaganda Israel is spreading to cover up what they believe are war crimes.

President of the Belgian Senate Stephanie D'Hose rejected a request by the Israeli ambassador to Brussels to showcase a 47-minute film claiming to show atrocities committed by Hamas during its 7 October attack on Israel.

The Israeli ambassador, Idit Rozenzweig Abu, attempted to screen an abridged version of the video before the Belgian Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. Still, the Senate president rejected the request, stating the video was Israeli "propaganda intended to cover up war crimes."

D'Hose remarked on 15 November that the Israeli government-produced video intends to distract the attention of the international community from Israel's brutal bombing of Gaza, which has killed 11,255 civilians, the majority women and children, in just five weeks.

If it continues like it is for long enough it could be most of them. They are starving in addition to all the rest. Something has to give and since there has been no real intervention at this point, I doubt there will be.JMOP
BBM. My biggest concern: that is the goal.

I'm sorry that you feel that so many will die.
It's not a feeling watching the body count increase each day and living conditions deteriorate.

It is so frustrating to see that level of inhumanity continue to be inflicted on the elderly, families, children. The President of the U.S. needs to demand it ends instead of playing politics.

The White House is sending different messages to pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel Americans, according to letters shared with NBC News.

Is your link MSM?

I did find this. Seems to show that the Israeli Ambassador did show some video to the Belgium committee. Somethings not right here.

Israel's ambassador to Belgium, Idit Rosenzweig-Abu, has compared the Israeli army's military operation in Gaza against Hamas to that of the US-led international coalition against Islamic State, which includes Belgium.

"Israel is not in an easy situation. We are afraid that Hamas will do what it said and repeat what it did on 7 October," she told the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday. "We have to eliminate this threat. I know you don't like to hear it, but we will do this in the same way as you did against IS."

Rosenzweig-Abu gave a presentation that combined distressing footage of victims of the 7 October attack, audio clips from Hamas, videos of Hamas leaders and photos of Mosul and Raqqa after bombings in 2017.

.....If only....

Someone hadn't pushed the HUGE GIANT RED GO Button in the early pre-dawn hours of 10-7-23, and started this murder and mayhem.

I am looking at you, HAMAS...

MOO and Peace

It's terrible, atrocious. I wish that Hamas would lay down it's arms and surrender for the sake of the Palestinian people.

I doubt that's going to happen so there will be more blood on their hands. JMO.

Was this posted here. If so, I missed it. What care centers?

Hamas' armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, said on Friday that "Zionist" hostages were not held in hospitals but were transferred to care centers for treatment due to the seriousness of their condition and to save their lives.
Sorry but I find this difficult to believe.
Considering what they've already done.
If someone shows you who they are, believe them.
Omo.

I wish Israel would stop the bombing and allow the necessary aide to be delivered. "If wishes were fishes we'd have a great fry."
