The IDF is continuing and expanding its operational activities in Gaza.

Over the past day, our forces conducted activities in the Zaytun and Jabaliya areas, during which they encountered terrorists who intentionally operated from civilian areas and attacked the troops using anti-tank missiles and explosives.

Our troops eliminated numerous terrorists and struck a large number of terrorist infrastructure.

I fail to understand a world in which October 7th is an ordinary day. Nothing new, nothing to see here?

Israel has had enemies going back to Old Testament days. There were no Muslims then. Jews have always lived there but were expelled during the Babylonian Captivity. They returned and of course in the time of the Jewish rabbi, Jesus, they were under Roman captivity.

I‘ve visited the Arch of Titus in Rome, wherein is a depiction of a menorah being carried off from the destruction of the Second Jewish Temple in A.D. 70. (The proceeds of which built the Colosseum).

Jerusalem is mentioned hundreds of times in the Old and New Testaments. It is not mentioned in the Quran at all. Yet Muslims fight over it being “their” city that they call Al-Quds.

So, even though there is an ANCIENT history of Jews being persecuted and killed, within Israel and without such as the Spanish Inquisition or during the Holocaust, it boggles my mind that you would say nothing new happened on October 7th.

Yes, you’re entitled to your opinion. If your opinion is that nothing “new” occurred on October 7th, I’m sorry to think of a world in which these particular atrocities are something to be regarded almost with nonchalance, same old same old, just another Jew- hating day.

IDF says air defenses intercepted a "suspicious aerial target" over Lebanese airspace a short while ago.

A number of rockets were also fired at army positions along the Lebanon border.

In response, the IDF says tanks and aircraft struck several Hezbollah observation posts.

This morning, the IDF says a military drone made an emergency landing in northern Israel. It says the aircraft was not hit by enemy fire, and the incident is being investigated.

What the footage from al-Fakhoura school shows​

Footage has emerged online claiming to show the aftermath of a strike on the UNRWA-run al-Fakhoura School in Jabalia – which has been used a shelter for displaced people.

BBC Verify has geolocated the footage to the school.

The video, which is 1 minute 40 seconds long, begins at the western corner of the school building and tracks through various rooms and stairwells as the camera moves down towards the ground floor.

Many people – including women and children – are seen with severe injuries or lying motionless on the floor in different parts of the building. There are more than 20 such casualties visible in the footage, and around half of these are seen in one particular room on the ground floor, which also shows signs of considerable damage.

UN-run schools have been used as shelters for Gazans in the north. The weather conditions evident in the footage match the forecast from today and no previous versions of the video have been found online.

BBC Verify will continue review this and any other footage of the incident to establish further details.

#GazaCLA transferred over 6,000 liters of water and over 2,300 kg of food, including fish, canned food, bread, spreads, and dates to the Shifa Hospital today.

This was done during the @IDF activities to locate and thwart terrorism in the hospital area.

Slightly O/T, but...I don't know what the rest of that hospital looks like, but that photo shows a very solid, beautiful structure (imo).

The hospital director has accused the Israeli military of ordering an evacuation, but the IDF says it helped facilitate a request from the director.

Perhaps the director doesn’t want Hamas to know he requested help from Israel. There could be dire consequences.

Hamas pedophiles raped and murdered girls in Israel. What does Hamas do with little girls in Gaza? Surely what Hamas did to children on October 7 was not something new, a sudden realization that they enjoyed raping girls. How many girls who are rape victims in Gaza have been silenced by Hamas during the past 17 years? Given what we saw on October 7, it seems highly likely that Hamas has brutalized girls in Gaza for a long time.

I agree. Somewhere in our thread are two tweets from IDF, recorded conversations with a staff member at Shifa, trying to evacuate the babies. They also discussed the fuel delivery, that was not accepted. Whomever this person, they seemed sincere.
I'm so happy they are able to leave.

So true. The media outlets lead with the most provocative headlines they can muster, usually just rumors and innuendo, then at the very end use the “can not independently verify“ phrase.
I wish we could go back to the days of “Just the facts, Ma’am“.
