IDF humanitarian efforts:
To the residents of Tal Al-Hawa, Al-Sabra, Al-Zeitoun, Al-Gharbi, Darj Al-Tuffah, Al-Shuja’iyya and Jabalia, the evacuation corridors will remain open until 16:00 for civilians through the Salah Al-Din route southward of Wadi Gaza.
There will be a tactical pause of military operation for humanitarian purposes between 10:00-14:00 in the the neighborhoods of Al-Salam and Al-Nour. During this time, civilians should move south to the Salah Al-Din route.

Residents that are being blocked from evacuation by Hamas are able to contact the IDF through this number +972 50-341-0322 or the Telegram channel- @gaza_saver.

Really??? I didn't know that!
Based on how many patients there were at the moment to how many employees were still there. They should have had more than enough to help out with babies. Jmoo

BBM. Terror indoctrination in the Gaza schools? Is there a link where I can learn more? Thanks!

JMO
Here is some information on that, @MyBelle -

Also, more information on that here in this article from 2021 in Foreign Policy:

“Nearly 60 percent of UNRWA’s roughly $1 billion annual budget is allocated to education programs which claim to teach children values of peace, tolerance, and nonviolent conflict resolution. Yet according to various studies of the Palestinian curriculum, which is taught by UNRWA in the Palestinian territories, the agency is falling far short of that goal. Textbooks depict Jews as enemies of Islam, glorify so-called martyrs who have died while committing terror attacks, and promote jihad for the liberation of historic Palestine, including areas firmly within Israel’s pre-1967 borders, such as Jaffa and Haifa. Maps of the region do not include the state of Israel, which throughout the curriculum is referred to as “the Zionist Occupation.”

Asked if Israeli troops had brought medical aid to the hospital, he responded: “If it was up to me, I would refuse [any aid]. They are killing us for 40 days and they want to offer me saline drips.”

I find the bolded part of that quote from the surgeon telling. Maybe he’s saying that out of anger and didn’t really mean it, but it seems very inappropriate for him to say he would refuse aid for his patients if offered to him.

What happened to the 650 patients and 100s of workers, and family? Hope to hear from IDF, soon.

Medical charity says 300 patients and staff still inside Al-Shifa
Medics look at the damages in the smoke-filled wards inside Al Shifa hospital following an Israeli raid, amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, in Gaza City, Gaza November 15, 2023.

As a reminder, Israel's military has entered Gaza's main hospital in what it describes as a "targeted operation against Hamas" with reports of IDF troops going room to room questioning people.
Natalie Thurtle, deputy medical co-ordinator of charity Doctors Without Borders, says that people attempting to flee Al-Shifa hospital are "at the mercy of gunfire, shelling and fire from drones".
She says her team have only managed to establish brief communication with medical staff inside the hospital following persistent connectivity problems.
At least 300 patients and staff are inside the facility, along with Israeli soldiers, and more than 100 staff members and families are in its vicinity, she tells BBC Radio 4's The World at One programme.
"We've been trying to evacuate them for three days", she says, but the action had been hindered due to "sustained" fighting around the hospital.
"It's very perilous and there is no opportunity for people to leave Shifa at the moment."

Doesn't surprise me, he's allowed patients, including infants, to perish, rather than surrender and save lives. Moo

I've been silent, but I have seen this "attitude" from a few physicians in the US. They refuse to use treatments, deny pain medication for certain procedures, because it's not available in their home county. Many are education holding visa physicians working in low income, poverty areas, in return for a US Medical School education.
I don't say this with disrespect, but point to the culture differences.

Hamas is weakening. Don't settle. All the hostages, and  no pauses (beyond what they're doing now). JMO
I’m, personally, torn about the deals with terrorists. On one hand, no compromising. Release every single one and return bodies of deceased. On the other hand, as a very selfish mother/daughter/sister/wife, I can’t imagine not being selfish in wanting my own released no matter what the compromise is.

Hamas is definitely very weakened. They’ve watched videos of their government buildings taken over by IDF, videos of their “secret” tunnels, been called out for using hospitals and ambulances, been called out for using civilians as human shields. The mental weakening harms them as much (if not more) as the military. Watching the IDF shield and assist civilians probably weakens them the most. All JMO.

It would be interesting to hear the Hamas rationale & “rules” for 3 day pause. Why not release the hostages and just stop?

Al-Shifa without power, oxygen and water, doctor says

Orla Guerin
Reporting from Jerusalem

The doctor in Al-Shifa that the BBC has spoken to has also said the hospital is without power, oxygen and water.

Dr Ahmed Mokhallalati said six premature babies died in recent days and that he’s worried that the others will die “one by one” due to a lack of oxygen and lack of power.

He said essential surgeries were carried out on Tuesday with only light sedation and patients were “screaming in pain”. No surgeries could be carried out on Wednesday.
Dr Mokhallalati said doctors were unable to help one patient with burns yesterday, due to a lack of equipment including ventilators, and had to just “let him die“.

Asked if Israeli troops had brought medical aid to the hospital, he responded: “If it was up to me, I would refuse [any aid]. They are killing us for 40 days and they want to offer me saline drips.”

So he's an Irish born plastic surgeon. I was just curious about him and all his tic tok/youtube videos.

Just me guessing on why I think a 3 day pause. Time to regroup? Time to rest. Time to get a restock of weapons from Iran and other countries that support their terror.. JMO
