Canada’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau, was escorted from a restaurant in Vancouver on Tuesday night after about 250 protesters surrounded it, police have said.

In a statement, police said almost 100 officers were deployed to disperse the protest in Chinatown and a 27-year-old man was arrested for assaulting an officer, who was punched in the face and had her eyes gouged. A 34-year-old was also arrested for obstructing police.

CBC reported that videos of the incident showed protesters shouting “ceasefire now” and waving Palestinian flags.

Trudeau angered Israel earlier on Tuesday by saying the “killing of women, of children, of babies” in Gaza must end.

They've found terrorist leaders in holes in the ground before, and he has to sleep sometime... ;)

Maybe he’s taken a move from the playbook of the Nazis who escaped to South America and had plastic surgery.

(It still kills me Mengele got away and lived a nice oceanside life in Brazil until he died.)

With him being #1 Enemy of the State, Israel’s #1 target, I think he is verrryyyyy well hidden.

Who’s that Hamas leader they call “The Guest” because he changes where he sleeps every night?

Don’t want to sound like a broken record lol, so I’ll just say one last time that my guess is Sinwar is in Egypt, as he has strong ties to that country and their government leaders, has spent time there, the tunnels go to Egypt…

If not in Egypt, and in Gaza, he’s in the most secure place you can imagine.
I have faith they can find him no matter where he's hiding. We found Bin Laden in Pakistan and Saddam in a literal hole in Iraq. They will find him!

What does it mean
"children held in Israeli prisons"? o_O

Are CHILDREN in PRISONS???
Bbm.
No.^^^

Not like that Israeli woman's two children who looked to be 3yrs., and 8 months old, the ones with (I think ?) bright red hair.
When Hamas says 'children', they're referring to those who'd Hamas would consider to be old enough to handle and shoot a gun, more like 16-18 year olds.
Still not right, but we're not speaking about babies here.
Other countries besides Gaza have utilized child soldiers.

We also don't know if Hamas is telling the truth when they claim this.
Most likely not !
Omo.

I don't know if they have withdrawn or just moved to a different section. Reports are conflicting.

But based on the the video of the basement, they did not find the tunnels. That certainly doesn't mean they aren't there.
There are about a dozen buildings in this hospital complex. From what I understand IDF hasn't even entered the main hospital yet.

The Mossad located and killed “The Butcher of Latvia” Herberts Cukurs who killed 30,000 Jews, in an ammaaaaazing long term undercover spy operation that spanned countries after he fled to South America. I suspect The Mossad might ultimately get “The Butcher of Khan Younis” Sinwar too.

Clear bottom lines are rare in the Middle East. On paper, you are 100% correct. In practice, it gets blurry.

The US provides several billion dollars to Israel in economic and military aid every year. So, though the US can never tell Israel what to do, they can- and do, make uhmm..... "suggestions".

Biden did just that when he "suggested" that there be no mass expulsions of civilians from Gaza.
Yes US gives Israel money but they still cannot tell Israel what to do.
There are things going on behind the scenes, there are suggestions, and all of that, but at the end of the day Israel will do what it wants to do- The US may not agree, but it doesn't change the reality of the situation.

I found this Dotta, it’s full of stats when you go to the link. Most are 14-16 and also 16-18. There are also some under 14.

Statistics on Palestinian minors in Israeli custody

Updated: 07 September 2023

At the end of June 2023, the Israel Prison Service (IPS) was holding 147 Palestinian minors in detention or in prison on what it defined “security” grounds. At that time, the IPS was also holding 26 Palestinian minors for being in Israel illegally.

[…]

The following figures were provided or published by the military and the IPS, so responsibility for their accuracy lies with them.

More than two dozen Palestinian cancer patients, who had crossed from Gaza into Egypt, have arrived in Turkey for treatment, Turkey’s Anadolu agency is reporting.

Two planes carrying the patients, many of them children, landed at Ankara airport shortly after 00:30 am local time on Thursday (2130 GMT Friday).

Turkey has sent a ship loaded with material for field hospitals, ambulances and generators to Egypt to treat civilians who have been able to flee Israel‘s military operation against Hamas militants in the enclave.

Agence France-Presse reports further:

Turkish health minister Fahrettin Koca said 27 patients had been flown to Turkey from Egypt, along with 13 companions, without specifying whether these were doctors or family members.
He added that the cancer patients had been able to cross from Gaza into Egypt via the Rafah border crossing.
Koca had been in Egypt for discussions on the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and said the patients were able to be transferred to Turkey thanks to “coordination between Turkey, Egypt and Israel“.
He also said that Turkey was waiting for Egypt’s permission to open its first field hospital at the Rafah crossing.
“I hope that in the near future – our efforts are going in this direction – we will be able to establish a field hospital in Gaza, in the area near the Rafah gate,” he said.
Turkey, a mostly Muslim but officially secular nation, has long championed the Palestinian cause and, more recently, has stepped up its verbal attacks against Israel for the soaring civilian toll of its military operation.
Speaking before members of his Islamic-rooted ruling party, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday called Israel “a terror state” that was committing “genocide”.

Those look like mostly able-bodied healthy young men. Were they separated from the women, girls, and elderly prior to this footage?
Bolding mine.
Thanks ! You beat me to it.
Was going to comment on that. What were those men doing before the hospital was surrounded ?
Firing weapons at the IDF ?

Looks suspicious as heck.

So the US will continue to supply weapons and other aid to Israel no matter what? If that's true then US "suggestions" carry no weight at all. JMO.

IDF raid Gaza hospital on 40th day of war

It is hard to know what is going on in Gaza City tonight but we are hearing occasional explosions over a live video feed from the area, which is shrouded in darkness.

On Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they were launching a "precise and targeted" operation at the Al-Shifa hospital.

During the raid, a journalist inside the hospital told the BBC that commandos had entered the main emergency department.

Soldiers moved from room to room questioning patients and staff, while younger men were ordered into the courtyard and told to strip down to their underwear for interrogation, he said.

Fourteen hours later, reports reached the BBC that the troops were beginning to withdraw. The IDF then published a video on Wednesday evening which it said showed weapons and equipment stashed inside various departments by Hamas.
Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of housing a command-and-control centre in a tunnel network underneath the hospital - a claim the US says its own intelligence supports but Hamas denies.

In Gaza's south, the onset of torrential rain and colder weather is compounding the suffering of the tens of thousands of displaced people sheltering there, the UN has said.

In Rafah, Israel has allowed a delivery of 25,000 litres of fuel to cross into Gaza for the first time since the start of the war.

Away from the territory, there are reports that Qatari mediators have been attempting to broker a deal between Hamas and Israel over the release of some of the hostages kidnapped by the militants during their 7 October attack.

Also on the diplomatic front, the UN Security Council has voted to back a resolution calling for "extended humanitarian pauses" in Gaza, after failing to agree on four previous votes.

In the UK, politicians rejected against an opposition party motion which called for a ceasefire in Gaza by 293 votes to 125.

Israel says 1,200 people have been killed since the 7 October attack by Hamas militants, and 239 are still being held captive in Gaza.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza has not issued new figures for dead and injured Palestinians for several days now. Its most recent count said more than 11,000 people had been killed during Israel's retaliation - of whom more than 4,500 were children.

I disagree. Billions of dollars in military and economic aid yearly does change the reality of the situation.

Sure, Israel can do what ever it wants to. But.... the billions might make them not really want- wink, nod to do everything they could do.

Sooo, is he getting it from both sides, or what?

7 staff members at Gaza’s Jordanian field hospital injured in shelling, Jordan foreign ministry says

From CNN's Hamdi Alkhshali

Seven staff members at the Jordanian field hospital in northern Gaza have been injured in what Jordan’s foreign ministry has alleged was an Israeli airstrike.
The staff were hit while providing aid to wounded Palestinians who had arrived at the entrance of the hospital’s emergency department, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said in an interview with CNN's Isa Soares Wednesday.

“Our field hospital staff rushed to the emergency section as they saw a number of Palestinians carrying wounded persons, and as our staff got to the emergency room, they got hit again and about seven of our medical staff there were wounded,” he said. “Many other Palestinians were unfortunately killed and injured.”

CNN has reached out to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for a response to the allegation but has not received a reply.

Safadi said Jordan would demand an investigation into what happened.
“It is incomprehensible that people trying to offer the medical help to wounded people get hit as well,” he said.

A statement from the Jordanian foreign ministry said Amman “holds the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible for endangering the lives of Jordanian medical teams.”

In the interview, Safadi said “Israel has a legal obligation to makes sure that hospitals are safe, that the vicinity of hospitals are safe and that no military operations that could jeopardize hospitals are conducted.”

Intense fighting is still ongoing in northern Gaza, according to a CNN team at Israel's border with the enclave.

I think you have a very good observation.

In the past, US aid to Israel was pretty much "set in stone"- but never absolute. So, in the past, Israel was able to ignore, or half heartedly follow US "suggestions" regarding new settlement construction, settler violence and some West Bank enforcement policies.

But, the past is in the past.

Things are different now in many different ways. People marching in pro Palestinian marches vote. Votes matter in DC- and in London for that matter.

So.... Israel might be far more inclined to follow US "suggestions"- lest monthly aid checks get held up, reduced, or have restrictions placed on them.
