(guess who didn’t show up? Antonio Guterres, secretary General of the UN)

Today, the 47-minute infamous video featuring raw footage of the Hamas atrocities was screened at the UN. Some attendees couldn't stay in the room and left midway.

Abu-bu Marzouk said in an interview (yesterday) that Hamas can't locate all the hostages. Is this a delay tactic or just his usual lies?? If they make a release deal... will they only show up with the ones they supposedly can find... or ??

I don't believe any of the IDF media propaganda.

I agree. Neither set of protagonists are to be trusted with the truth.

Meanwhile trapped within this enclave are the homeless, stateless refugees whose fault was to be inconveniently living on land coveted by others.

We are watching something happening here which shames the world and is only equalled by the Armenian genocide.

Hamas torture and kill Gazans if they are deemed "collaborators" with Israel or supporters of Fatah.
It is no wonder the Gazans don't speak out against the terrorists. And is a reason why Hamas can go where they want and do what they want in Gaza. They rule with terror. imo

But HAMAS is not a terrorist organization.. it's "freedom fighters" according to some. Certainly not freedom for Palestinians.. maybe freedom for HAMAS. Make that make sense. They terrorize Palestinians also and we are to believe any info coming from within Gaza because why? Seems many have every reason to lie so HAMAS doesn't harm them or their families.

And a bunch of misguided people are marching to keep it that way

“Hardline Israeli MPs shouted at relatives of hostages captured by Hamas as they clashed over a bill to impose the death penalty on convicted terrorists...”

Israel doesn't want the land Palestinians are living on. Nobody wants it. Heck, Israel tried to give it to Egypt way back in 1978 but Egypt didn't want it. Israel completely pulled out of Gaza.

This war is being about destroying Hamas, a terrorist organization that seized control of Gaza on 2006

BBM. My hope is that President Biden puts a stop to it. <modsnip>. I'm beyond shocked these atrocities are still happening not just in Gaza but also in the West Bank.

QUSRA, West Bank (AP) — When Israeli warplanes swooped over the Gaza Strip following Hamas militants’ deadly attack on southern Israel, Palestinians say a different kind of war took hold in the occupied West Bank.

Overnight, the territory was closed off. Towns were raided, curfews imposed, teenagers arrested, detainees beaten, and villages stormed by Jewish vigilantes.

With the world’s attention on Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there, the violence of war has also erupted in the West Bank. Israeli settler attacks have surged at an unprecedented rate, according to the United Nations. The escalation has spread fear, deepened despair, and robbed Palestinians of their livelihoods, their homes and, in some cases, their lives.

How is the blockade enforced?

People, food, fuel, internet, power and water cannot leave or enter Gaza without permission from Israel.

Egypt has a land crossing in the south, Rafah, but in practice, the military regime in Cairo – an enemy of Hamas and ally with Israel’s most powerful backer, the US – acts as an enforcer of the blockade.

Israel says the blockade is for its own security, citing repeated Hamas rocket attacks and incursions.

But UN experts say the blockade, and intense bombing during five wars on Gaza, amounts to collective punishment on civilians, a war crime under international law.
Human Rights Watch describes Gaza as an “open-air prison”.

You are partly right when you say "certainly not freedom for Palestinians". I don't know how many still living ever lived in a truly free society. For example if the local authority rationed or cut off your mains water supply there is redress by voting them out.

The Palestinians forced from their homes into Gaza are the true forgotten Tribe of Israel. They just have never had the the rights expected in a free society: then they haven't lived in one for generations.
My opinion

@Mex : The Gazans do have a state, though. It's Gaza.
They're not homeless refugees by any means.
No one covets their land and that would include Israel who left.

Israel left in the mid 2000's and the Gazans elected whom they desired.
The Gazan have their freedom and ability to choose.

They chose Hamas, and Hamas chose the Oct. 7th 2023 massacre.

In 2005, under international and domestic pressure, Israel withdrew around 9,000 Israeli settlers and its military forces from Gaza,
leaving the enclave to be governed by the Palestinian Authority, which also controlled parts of the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian children play outside their home in the Al-Shati refugee camp in the Gaza Strip in August.

Red bolding mine.

The first photo at the above link shows a wide alley where laundry is hanging and kids are playing.
Although the Gazans call them 'camps', they're anything but. Mostly high rises and not a flimsy 'tent' camp like the ones true refugees would live in temporarily.
These are permanent residences.

The ruling leaders of Gaza call them camps because they're getting quite a bit of assistance from other nations, assistance they might not receive if they (Hamas & their supporters) didn't claim to be impoverished.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — "The international community has sent billions of dollars in aid to the Gaza Strip in recent years to provide relief to the more than 2 million Palestinians living in the isolated, Hamas-ruled territory.
Israel says the heavy restrictions on trade and movement are needed to keep Hamas from enhancing its military capability..."
Red emph. mine.

After the 10/7/2023 atrocities, Israel has once again proven itself to be correct !!
They were --and are -- right to be on their guard.

"... thousands of rockets from Gaza having rained down on Israel since 2005 and a peace deal with the Palestinians even further out of reach."
Notice Israel has endured bombing since 2005 !
And a peace deal is impossible for people who refuse it.
But the Gazans are free, and not homeless by any means.
Omo.

I have a skeptical eye. I've seen a few things that give me pause. They don't lie, but I catch them not telling the whole or balanced story etc. For instance, I really wonder when the blast door in the Shifa tunnel was last used/opened? it looks quite old and there is rust apparent. (In other words, it wasn't recently constructed) The tunnel does not appear to have been used recently. I am looking forward to what is on the other side. I'm sure there are other tunnels at Shifa. Just stuff like that.

Who really built the tunnels? Hamas or Israel per this article....https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-did-israel-build-bunker-under-shifa-hospital-1844107
Are they currently being used? If Hamas is using tunnels, is it possible that hostages are hidden within?

If my neighbors declared it was their holy mission to kill me... Yep, I'd cut their water off. Especially if they keep threatening me year after year after year after...
