IDF should build shelters in Gaza for the next bombardment. (There is "farmland" available, but not much. It's mostly in the old Kibbutz areas) Egypt could also set up a displaced person's camp, but maybe logistics are the issue.
Hamas is the official government. Shouldn't hamas be building shelters for the citizens that voted for them? Maybe hamas will open tunnels as shelters to save the citizens.

I have to wonder, if the UN supported schools, incorporate a plan to protect and/or train students/residents in an attack or other perils? I remember in grade school, practicing sheltering in the school basement. Even today we train students for threats.

All moo...

"Israel says it is

checking claim

by 'cruel and inhuman' Hamas that youngest hostage ten-month-old baby Kfir Bibas has been killed alongside his mother and brother, 4, in Gaza."

I was wondering about the hostage interviews when I was watching the interview with Emily Hand’s father after she was released. It was an emotional interview and towards the end of it, he called passionately for the rest of the hostages to come home. I believe the reason they are doing these interviews and speaking up about their experiences and their treatment is to keep the plight of the remaining hostages in the public eye. I think they want to keep awareness up so that people don’t forget that amid the great news of so many hostages being released, so many more still remain in captivity, in who knows what conditions.
Yes, that too....

Looked her up and don't see anything on her official twitter. It's typical "city news" - bike lanes, baseball, public events, announcements, public safety etc etc...She did post anything about the city council meeting on Monday.

The meeting on Monday was on gov website, but the agenda was changed "due an emergency" and wasn't posted.
The councilwoman who introduced the resolution hasn't updated her twitter since Nov 13th.

She got demolished by thousands. She, possibly, deleted it. Took me over an hour to read through all the comments.

Do you remember this child? Ohad Mundar was released four days ago, and he shared an incredible story with his family, who then relayed it to the media. Pay close attention:Ohad mentioned that the terrorists frequently relocated the hostages, so he never stayed with the same people for long.On October 23, his 9th birthday, Israelis displayed a red balloon in his honor, and TV commentators discussed him.The following day, a new boy, unfamiliar to him, was brought into his room. He asked, 'Are you Ohad?' Ohad confirmed, and the boy wished him, 'Happy birthday!'When asked how he knew, he explained that his Hamas captors had a TV in a previous location where they saw players from Ohad’s favorite football team, Hapoel Be’er Sheva, wishing him a happy birthday and offering prayers. At that moment, Ohad broke down and cried, finding hope and renewed strength. After his release from Hamas captivity, the very next day, Ohad received a heartwarming visit from his heroes, the players of Hapoel Beer Sheva, who surprised him at Schneider Hospital.Team coach Elianiv Berda conversed with Ohad and extended an open invitation for him to tour the club’s training complex anytime he wishes.

Previously, there were fears that nine-year-old Israeli-Irish hostage Emily Hand had been killed by Hamas terrorists but she was later found to be alive. The schoolgirl, who spent her ninth birthday in captivity, has since been released.
RBM.
Hoping that since the DM's accuracy can be wonky... this claim of the precious mother and babies' demise is not true.

IF they're no longer with us, my opinion is that Hamas -- or the other Islamist terror group that Hamas has identified (link following) & that they may have sold this mother and babies to -- killed them :

Hamas had formally coordinated with Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Gaza's second largest armed faction and - like Hamas - a proscribed terrorist organization in the UK and other countries.
RBM
They're established and everywhere, just waiting to act from their masters.

Every time Hamas claims the Israelis killed a hostage, I think it's a lie; or that they are purposely placing captives in the direct line of fire.

Cowardly of Hamas and their fellow terrorists to constantly accuse Israel of foul deeds they themselves have committed.

  • Not men.
  • Not "freedom fighters".
  • Not human.

Their armaments and weapons they've purchased, whether from Iran, North Korea, or elsewhere, is what they have to boast of and that is all.
Take that away and they have nothing.
Maybe it's time to stop giving Gaza money ?

Germany warns of ‘real’ Islamist terror threat in wake of Israel-Hamas war

Berlin’s spymaster says conflict prompting calls for terror groups to join fray, carry out attacks; points at unnamed ‘foreign state actors’ seeking to exploit mood

I believe 'sleeper cells' are everywhere.
I.e., the bolded in my post # 1,316 -- from the bbc link.

The House of Representatives adopted a resolution reaffirming Israel’s “right to exist,” in a 412-1 vote Tuesday, with one member voting present. The resolution “rejects calls for Israel’s destruction” and “condemns the Hamas-led terrorist attack on Israel.”
Rep. Michael Lawler (R-N.Y.), who sponsored the resolution, said he was proud that Republicans and Democrats “set aside our differences” to show support for Israel.

Agan about Polish-Israeli historian kidnapped by Hamas
Alex Dancyg

From my country's MSM

"Father, come back home!!

Dear and beloved Dad,

We are alive.
Mom, Ahinoam, Lilusia's family and mine are alive.

A huge miracle occurred and we survived an attack that had not happened since the Holocaust.

The Kibbutz Nir Oz you loved is no more.
It was desecrated, plundered and burned.
Entire families were murdered.

Little children in 2023 should not hear where you are now and under what circumstances...

I have no answers for my girls, your granddaughters whom you love so much.

Everyone misses you and wants you back.
You don't deserve to be where you are now.

You fought fiercely in Israel's wars.

You have lived your entire adult life, over 50 years, in a border settlement.
The state wanted you to fight for it - and you did.
The state wanted you to live on the border, and despite the danger, you stayed there.

You have taught thousands of students throughout your life, demonstrating great talent and exceptional wisdom.

The state's duty, first and foremost, is to bring you home.
I miss you.
I miss our fascinating conversations.
I miss your loving look when I visit you with the girls.

Dear and beloved Father, come back home.

Entire families, including infants and young children, boys and girls, young men and women, men and women with families, and elderly people in need of medicine, have been abducted to Gaza by terrorists who have lost their humanity.

To my father, uncle and all the kidnapped people who were taken from us in a barbaric and inhumane attack -
you do not deserve to be there!

The State of Israel must solve the kidnapping problem.

Now!!!

Not when it's too late.

A great injustice has been done to us.

Unprecedented negligence that can only be paid for in one way.

Return the kidnapped! Now!!!"
❤️

Mati Danzig's letter was read in the Square Grzybowski in Warsaw
during the meeting

'In Memory of the Victims of Hamas - For the Return of the Kidnapped'

in the evening of Monday, October 16."

♥️

I pray that all Israeli male civilian hostages will be released by Hamas and that Israel will be able to bring them home.

And the soldiers, too, but the terrorists will hold them until the end, I fear.

Maybe the citizens of Oakland should look around at all the problems their city has and wonder why their city counsel meetings are discussing Hamas. This is not how responsible municipal government works.
