Roongarun Wichanguen, the sister of 33-year-old Thai hostage Vetoon Phoome, expresses joy and disbelief that he is coming home. She says she thought he had been killed by Hamas.

On a video call, “his face was very happy, and he seemed okay,” she says, adding he told her he “was taken care of very well. It looks like he just stayed in a house, not the tunnel.”

Alongside 13 Israelis, 10 Thai and one Filipino national were also released from Gaza last night after 49 days in captivity.

Hamas says hostage handover delayed until Israel "adheres to agreement"

The armed wing of Hamas said on Saturday it was delaying the handover of a second group of hostages as part of a temporary ceasefire deal until Israel “adheres to the terms of the agreement”, Agence France-Presse reports.

According to the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam brigades, the entry of aid into northern Gaza and the selection criteria for the Palestinians held in Israeli prisons were in question.

(BBM) A Hamas source told AFP that the handover of 14 hostages to the Red Cross had begun, and then said the transfer process had been halted.

An Israeli official said the hostages had not yet been handed over to the Red Cross. “Israel has not violated the agreement,” an Israeli source told AFP.

Moo ...
Israel WON'T back down and the attack will be ferocious.
Moo ...hamas is making recuses. Either they can't find the hostages or they are injured and abused.
Not buying the not enough aid, and drones. In was my understanding, they agreed not to fly drones within a given time frame.
Guess hamas doesn't have a grasp just how advanced US satellite capability. The US can see, the eyes on a fly, from the sky.

Egypt is trying to resolve the delay in the second round of Israeli hostage releases from Gaza, a Palestinian official familiar with the matter who did not want to be named told Reuters on Saturday.

The delay comes as Hamas cited issues surrounding the entry of aid into northern Gaza as well as the selection criteria of Palestinian prisoners currently detained in Israeli prisons.

Visiting Gaza, Gallant says IDF troops won’t leave Strip until every hostage returned

Gallant’s remarks were made as the minister toured the Gaza Strip this morning — for the first time since the start of the war — meeting with commanders and soldiers. Gallant entered the Strip via the sea with the head of the Navy, Vice Adm. David Sa’ar Salama.

“Our ability to bring the first group of hostages comes from the pressure exerted by the military. As soon as the military pressure is on, they want a break. When you increase the pressure, they want another break. When you increase even more, they are ready to come with an offer, and when you increase even more, and they are ready to come with an offer that can be accepted, that’s the whole method,” Gallant says.

“We cannot leave the operation and the war in Gaza until we reach a situation where we bring all the hostages [back], because we have many more,” he says.

Gallant says the ceasefire will be short. “Any further negotiations will be under fire. Meaning, if they want to continue discussing the next [deal], it will be while bombs fall and the forces are fighting, that’s the basis.”

Do you (or does any other WSer) have a link to anything detailing the agreement? Or what Thailand gave Hamas to trade for their citizens release?

I expected there to be some Hamas nonsense in these exchanges but thought it would be on the 4th day not the 2nd. How is Israel supposed to trust anything they say about the rest of the hostages when they can’t even get through the 2nd release?

It has been reported that Thailand government in Bangkok has connections with Iran so I am assuming that Iran helped with the release of the Thai hostages. This was a separate agreement from the Israeli-Hamas agrreemnt.

Hamas spokesperson Osama Hamdan told a press conference today that Israel has not fulfilled its part of their truce agreement and that it had informed the mediators about Israel's violations. He also said the group affirmed its commitment to the truce sponsored by Egypt and Qatar that began on Friday.

Hamas spokesperson Osama Hamdan said: A total of 340 aid trucks entered Gaza since yesterday, 65 of which reached northern Gaza and that number is "less than half of what Israel agreed on."

Anyone surprised that Hamas is playing games and toying with Israeli families awaiting their loved ones doesn't know Hamas.
This is a terrorist group.
It cares not a whit about Israeli or Palestinian lives.
It lies as a matter of course. That's who we're dealing with.

What's the time check for Israel right now??

It's only 1439hrs here, but it must be getting close to midnight there.

Israel gave them until midnight to comply with the Ceasefire Agreement and let the hostages out did it not?

ZAKA volunteers are the unsung heroes of Israel's tragedy. This is why

Following the Hamas massacre on October 7, hundreds of ZAKA first responders entered southern Israel to collect the dead bodies and ensure their proper burial.
