Still catching up in last thread, but wow, it was false reporting that the Thai woman had given birth in captivity…

“She was falsely rumored to have been pregnant and to have given birth to a baby in Gaza.”

Nathavaree Mulkan among the 11 foreign nationals released from Gaza

Nathavaree Mulkan is among the 11 foreign nationals who were released earlier today in a separate deal from the one that brought 13 Israelis back home, Channel 12 reports.

Ten of the foreign nationals, including Mulkan, are from Thailand. One of them, Jimmy Pacheco, is from the Philippines.

Mulkan is the only woman among the foreign nationals released today.

She was falsely rumored to have been pregnant and to have given birth to a baby in Gaza.

The 11 foreign nationals have arrived at Shamir (Assaf Harofeh) Medical Center in Be’er Yaakov for evaluation by medical staff.

The hospital reports that all 11 of them are in good condition.

The foreign nationals are welcomed by diplomats from Thailand and the Philippines as well as representatives from the Israeli government.

Several families of children who were expected to be freed by Hamas today began arriving at Soroka Medical Center from about 5 p.m., having been told by the Israeli authorities that they should do so in order to be reunited with their loved ones.

They are still there waiting, a Channel 12 reporter at the hospital reports.

The slated release of the second wave of hostages has been indefinitely delayed, as Israel holds its breath.

Hamas says less than half of aid lorries reached northern Gaza

Hamas spokesperson Osama Hamdan has just held a press conference in Beirut, Lebanon, addressing the delay to today's hostage releases from Gaza.

He said Israel did not fulfil its part of the agreement and Hamas has "informed mediators about Israel's violations". Israel has denied violating the truce deal.

Hamdan said a total of 340 aid trucks were sent into Gaza since Friday, but only only 65 reached northern Gaza - which he added was less than half of what Israel agreed on.

He added: "We affirm our commitment to the agreement sponsored by Egypt and Qatar."

Hamas spokesperson Osama Hamdan told a press conference on Saturday that Israel has not fulfilled its part of their truce agreement and that it had informed the mediators about Israel’s violations, Reuters reports.

He also said the group affirmed its commitment to the truce sponsored by Egypt and Qatar that began on Friday.

Hamdan said a total of 340 aid trucks had entered Gaza since Friday and that 65 of those trucks had reached northern Gaza - “which was less than half of what Israel agreed on.”

The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon said Israeli fire hit one of its patrols in the country’s south on Saturday, despite a Hamas-Israel truce largely quietening the Lebanon-Israel frontier.

Agence France-Presse reports:

“At around 12:00 pm, a UNIFIL patrol was hit by IDF (Israeli army) gunfire” in the vicinity of Aitarun, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon said in a statement.

“No peacekeepers were injured, but the vehicle was damaged,” it said, adding that “this incident occurred during a period of relative calm” along the border between Israel and Lebanon.

Since the Israel-Hamas war began on October 7, the frontier between Lebanon and Israel has seen intensifying exchanges of fire, mainly between Israel and Shiite Muslim movement Hezbollah, but also Palestinian groups, raising fears of a broader conflagration.

A four-day truce between Israel and Hamas began on Friday, and a source close to Hezbollah told AFP that the Iran-backed group would also adhere to the ceasefire if Israel did.

UNIFIL said “this attack on peacekeepers, dedicated to reducing tensions and restoring stability in south Lebanon, is deeply troubling,” adding: “We condemn this act.”

Late last month, shelling lightly wounded a UN peacekeeper near the border village of Hula, just hours after UNIFIL said a shell hit its headquarters in Naqura near the Israel-Lebanon frontier.

The force said it was investigating those incidents.

“We strongly remind the parties of their obligations to protect peacekeepers and avoid putting the men and women who are working to restore stability at risk,” Saturday’s UNIFIL statement said.

transcribed this pack of lies:

Q:how many Israeli hostages are you holding?

Hamas: We are talking about two categories—we are talking about the soldiers and the civilians…or foreigners, some dual citizenship, regarding this the soldiers and brigade talked about around 200—
Civilians about 50 to 60
…but now no one can exactly give a number because of the heavy bombardment and the presence of these captured people in different areas with different groups its difficult now t give exact numbers or figures about the capture of the hostages

Q: is that because you killed some of them?

Hamas: How, from where u get this info—you cannot raise or ask us this or accuse us….where we are bombarded and we have clearly said at least 60 of the hostages were killed with our families and and and still under the rubble of of our houses because of Israeli bombardment—how can we kill someone we are considering as a as a as a as a guest or as hostages…

Netanyahu said consulting with security chiefs on crisis over the hostage deal

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly holding consultations by telephone with all of Israel’s security chiefs regarding how to proceed if Hamas does not release today’s group of hostages from Gaza by midnight, in accordance with the truce deal.

Among those on the call are Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, fellow war cabinet Minister Benny Gantz, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Mossad Chief David Barnea and Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, several Hebrew media outlets say. There is no official confirmation.

Barnea is said to be updating the leadership on his contacts with the Qatari mediators, and Bar on his interaction with the Egyptians.

Both Egypt and Qatar are said to be trying to salvage the deal, according to a Ynet report, which cites unnamed Israeli sources saying they do not know if the crisis will be resolved.

Do you (or does any other WSer) have a link to anything detailing the agreement? Or what Thailand gave Hamas to trade for their citizens release?

I expected there to be some Hamas nonsense in these exchanges but thought it would be on the 4th day not the 2nd. How is Israel supposed to trust anything they say about the rest of the hostages when they can’t even get through the 2nd release?
Here's a source for the Hamas' side of the ceasefire agreement:

Below are excerpts from the Al-Qassam Brigades’ statements, which were not edited in any way by The Palestine Chronicle.
  • The truce will last for 4 days, starting on Friday morning, accompanied by a cessation of all military actions by Al-Qassam Brigades, the Palestinian Resistance, and the Zionist enemy throughout the truce period.
  • (Israeli) aircraft will stop flying completely in the southern Gaza Strip.
  • (Israeli) aircraft will stop flying for 6 hours a day, from 10 am to 4 pm, in Gaza City and the north.
  • 3 Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, will be released for every one zionist prisoner.
  • Within 4 days, 50 Zionist prisoners, women and children under the age of 19, will be released.
  • 200 trucks of relief and medical supplies will be brought daily to all areas of the Gaza Strip.
  • 4 trucks of fuel and cooking gas will be brought daily to all areas of the Gaza Strip.

It has been reported that Thailand government in Bangkok has connections with Iran so I am assuming that Iran helped with the release of the Thai hostages. This was a separate agreement from the Israeli-Hamas agrreemnt.
Yes but you know they had to give Hamas something and I cannot help wondering what it was.

Egyptian Officials are reporting that a Deal has been Struck between Hamas and Israel in order for the Ceasefire to continue and that the Hostages will be Released in the next few hours.

Israel expresses ‘cautious optimism’ second release of hostages will take place tonight

An Israeli official expresses “cautious optimism” that the second group of Israeli hostages will still be released tonight following a long delay.

The comment comes after an Egyptian report claiming that the disagreements have been bridged and the deal is expected to move ahead soon.

I hadn’t heard the part about cutting off their legs too.

“In one video released by the Israel Defense Forces, a person whose face is blurred said that gunmen were given instructions to kill everyone they saw, including beheading victims and cutting off their legs.”

Kill, behead, rape: Interrogated Hamas members detail atrocities against civilians | The Times of Israel
[...]

Israeli security agencies published video footage Monday from the apparent interrogations of seven Hamas terrorists who were captured following the Palestinian terror group’s October 7 onslaught, in which they admitted they had been ordered to carry out atrocities against Israeli civilians.

In one video released by the Israel Defense Forces, a person whose face is blurred said that gunmen were given instructions to kill everyone they saw, including beheading victims and cutting off their legs.

“The plan was to go from home to home, from room to room, to throw grenades and kill everyone, including women and children,” he said. “Hamas ordered us to crush their heads and cut them off, [and] to cut their legs.”

He also said they were given permission to rape the corpse of a girl.

After delay, Qatar says 13 Israelis, 7 foreigners to be released from Gaza ‘tonight’

After hours of delays, Qatar, a key mediator in the hostage deal, confirms that 13 Israelis and 7 foreigners will be freed from captivity in Gaza “tonight.”

Hamas also confirms that the release is moving ahead.

An Israeli official said earlier that they are “cautiously optimistic” that the issues had been resolved and the release of the second group of hostages would still be happening tonight.

I'm wondering if the "cutting off their legs" was actually a "cutting of their legs" mispronunciation (or a typo?) as we've seen video where a raped hostage has their Achilles Tendon cut to prevent her running away.

Edit: Yep: In reading again the quote is:

“The plan was to go from home to home, from room to room, to throw grenades and kill everyone, including women and children,” he said. “Hamas ordered us to crush their heads and cut them off, [and] to cut their legs.”

Hmmmm.

Was checking the article to see if the video portion was in there (it's not). Oh, notice how the first photograph of the terrorist captured on 7 October shows that Israel (probably the IDF) provided first aid to him?? He's all bandaged up on his upper left arm while his shirt is sill splattered with his victims' blood.

Bet he's thankful he's in Israeli custody and not summarly executed while being fiilmed by the cheering masses as he would be if in his sides' custody for some alleged infraction.

''Thailand also has among the highest death tolls in the conflict of any foreign country, with 39 of its citizens killed.''

''Hopes were raised by a report Thursday on the pan-Arab website Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, citing an unnamed Egyptian source, that the Thai hostages could be released in a deal brokered by Iran that is unrelated to the Israel-Hamas agreement.

Thai-Muslim politicians who have been in contact with Hamas since October said last week they had been assured that all Thai hostages would be released during any cease-fire.''

Not to forget some of the other atrocities including gang raping the girl then shooting her in the head during the sexual assault at the festival, cutting off the little girl’s hand/arm and she bled to death alone, raping the young girls in their safe room, killing the baby inside the pregnant woman then killing her, raping the corpse of a girl, tying two groups of 10 children together and burning them alive in Be’eri, tying the father and child together and burning them alive, burning babies alive, beheading, gouging eyes out, burning families alive in their homes, the list goes on and on.

Anyone who stands with Hamas supports these acts. Either you’re with them, or you’re against them, there can not be any in between when it comes to such atrocities.

I heard on news this morning that many of the foreign hostages would like to stay in Israel. Israel, of course, would be honored. IMO
