The Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS) has said Israeli forces are preventing a fuel truck from entering the north of Gaza.

In a social media post earlier today, the PRCS said a fuel truck was entering Gaza City through a checkpoint which separates the north of the strip from the south.

The truck was carrying fuel to support the work of seven PRCS ambulances operational in northern Gaza, it said. It was accompanied by 31 humanitarian aid trucks containing food, water and relief supplies, it said.

Since the beginning of the truce and up till Monday, PRCS crews have successfully delivered about 200 aid trucks to Gaza City and its northern region, it said.

Fleeing the rubble of the destroyed Gazan building, Ron attempted to escape the Gaza Strip on his own, managing to stay hidden for four days straight before being recaptured, his aunt disclosed to KAN’s Reshet Bet radio on Monday morning.

MY OWN OPINION:
I don't understand Hagari's perspective. Were the children who were shot and killed at Robb Elementary the responsibility of the school shooter, or the police who were there to save them? Israel is clearly the stronger power with more intelligence, arms, and power here - they should be doing everything they can to ensure the safety and livelihood of the hostages until they are safely back home with their families. They have more control and knowledge than terrorist groups.

What? Israel has more responsibility for the location and safety of the hostages, TAKEN by Hamas, than Hamas does?

Hamas forced those people out of their homes at gunpoint. Seems like Hamas took responsibility for them from that point on. JMO

So far, 150 Palestinian women and children have been released under the hostage swap and ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

Monday’s releases brought the number of Israeli hostages freed from Gaza to 51, as well as 19 people of other nationalities. The deal contains a clause extending the ceasefire by 24 hours for every 10 additional freed Israelis, in exchange for 30 Palestinians.

The Palestinian prisoners released so far have been mostly teenagers accused of throwing stones or firebombs during confrontations with Israeli forces, although some have been convicted of attempted murder, including stabbings, and manufacturing explosives.

According to UN data, one in five Palestinians spends time in Israeli prison at some point after trials in a military court system with a conviction rate of more than 98%.

Before the swaps began last week, the Palestinian Prisoners Society said that 7,200 prisoners were held by Israel, among them 88 women and 250 children.

Many on the initial list of 300 potential candidates for release are held in administrative detention, which allows for pre-emptive arrest, on secret evidence, and six-month extendable stints in prison without charge or trial.

Israel has arrested an additional 3,260 Palestinians, including 120 women and more than 200 children, since 7 October.

My original response was in response to an article about Israeli hostages being killed by Israeli bombs. Why is Israel absolved of all responsibility from harming or murdering their own citizens if they are the only democracy in the middle east and have all of the US's technology and weaponry? Why can't they save their citizens? And why is it waved off if their citizens DO die as collateral damage? It seems as if everyone has lost their humanity in this situation and is too eager to kill innocents or write them off as collateral damage - Israeli hostages included.

Thousands of terrorists out of Gaza invaded Israeli homes one sunrise, stabbing, shooting, raping, pillaging, all while wearing go-pro cameras to document it and stream it online.

That kind of brutal slaughter on a wide scale is not going to go unpunished. Israel cannot just ignore it and pretend it did not happen. I cannot compare the two situations.

Hamas initiated and escalated everything by invading those family's homes that October morning. There is no excuse for that level of depravity.

You cannot compare the retaliation of Israeli Army's bombings, to the masked Hamas killers entering the homes to rape and kill. The IDF was targeting the tunnels and the munitions and the militants headquarters.

Hamas was targeting women and children in their pyjamas. It is very sad and tragic that so many Palestinians have been killed and injured during the aftermath. I wish it wasn't that way.

But I don't think Israel has lost their humanity. I think they were responding to an unimaginable massacre and they are not going to just let it go. JMO

The Israel Defense Forces announces the deaths of three soldiers who were abducted by Hamas on October 7.

They are: Staff Sgt. Tomer Yaakov Ahimas, 20, from Lehavim; Sgt. Kiril Brodski, 19, from Ramat Gan; and Sgt. Shaked Dahan, 19, from Afula.
The three were killed on October 7 and the military’s chief rabbi declared their deaths based on various findings obtained by the IDF.

Gotta wonder why those civilians returned him to Hamas.....

We have seen the devastation; he himself was injured when the building he was in collapsed burying him under rubble and one wonders how many others who were in it did not survive or were unable to dig themselves out.

He wandered around lost in a war zone and was possibly very, very lucky not to stumble towards armed soldiers of either side, who probably wouldn't have waited for a formal introduction before blasting him to shreds.

The Palestinian civilians were also in a war zone and under fire and bombardment. Accompanied by them he would have been as safe as they were which means he was in a perilous situation.

What to do with him

• kill him?
• leave him wandering around suffering from a head wound they had no means of getting medical attention for, disoriented, under fire in a war zone where he would likely end up as collateral damage as had happened to so many others
• or hand him over to Hamas who were on the ground

In the event the handover very likely saved his life as the civilians could do as much for him as they could do for themselves which was precisely nothing.

To underestimate the logistics faced by civilians in their situation amongst the devastation of targeted bombardment fails to address the bigger picture.

The Dixmude ship contains 40 hospital beds, adding 10 percent to the capacity of hospital services set up in the desert of northern Sinai bordering Gaza, a French diplomat tells The Times of Israel.
The ship comes equipped with a helicopter landing pad to allow for the speedy transfer of patients from Egypt’s Rafah crossing onto the ship. Damage from fighting in Gaza has made docking large ships off the Strip untenable.
