I think that some people in Israel knew that something was going to happen soon. It is interesting to look at things said prior to this, that basically predicted a revolt. What occurred was wrong, but maybe this was the only way Hamas felt they could be heard.

If you continue to beat a dog, you can't blame the dog for biting you.

I am sorry.
Hamas need NOT be heard.

''Days after Hamas launched its large-scale surprise assault on Israel, horrifying details are still emerging.

In Kfar Aza, a kibbutz in southern Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told CNN that militants carried out a “massacre” in which women, children, toddlers and elderly were “brutally butchered in an ISIS way of action.”

Less than 20 kilometers (12 miles) away, the farming community Be’eri was among the worst-hit, with more than 100 bodies recovered and eyewitnesses describing assailants going door to door, breaking into homes and executing civilians.

In retaliation for the atrocities, Israeli jets have been pounding Gaza – the densely-inhabited coastal strip that Hamas controls – with hundreds of airstrikes, reducing homes and neighborhoods to rubble and trapping residents, with many cut off from food and electricity.

The IDF has also bolstered troops and tanks along the border as speculation of a possible Israeli ground incursion into Gaza grows. An IDF spokesperson said Wednesday that it has massed 300,000 reservists near the border.

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said he has “released all restraints” for the IDF in their fight against Hamas, saying the response will permanently change Gaza.

“They will regret this moment – Gaza will never return to what it was,” Gallant said''.

Misinformation about Israel-Hamas war is flourishing on Elon Musk’s X

Misinformation about Israel-Hamas war is flourishing on Elon Musk's X

Oct. 10, 2023 at 6:02 p.m. ET

[...] Fake and manipulated imagery circulating on X include “repurposed old images of unrelated armed conflicts or military footage that actually originated from video games,” said a Tuesday letter to Musk from European Commissioner Thierry Breton. “This appears to be manifestly false or misleading information.”

[...] Breton, the EU’s digital rights chief, also warned Musk that authorities have been flagging “potentially illegal content” that could violate EU laws and “you must be timely, diligent and objective” in removing it when warranted. [...]

Devastating: this woman was being interviewed about her husband who went missing after protecting her and her infant. She found out he had been killed during the interview. Our hearts are broken. May his memory be a blessing.

Dan Poraz is Israel’s deputy ambassador to Spain

The Hamas ministry of interior in Gaza is sending residents text messages to NOT evacuate from their homes and to die as martyrs.

I hope the world is paying attention to ALL of the actions on both sides and not just one or the other. There is no winners here and Israel may not be perfect and maybe things needed to change, but for a terrorist group to take on this battle in the name of doing good for the Palestinians is NOT for these pure intentions to make it better for them. It seems to me the Palestinian people have been basically hijacked and used as a pawn for a terrorist group to justify their barbaric actions. I wish we could send messages directly into Gaza to those innocent women, children, and elderly that believe Hamas has any good reason to be doing what they are doing. I hope the US can help get these evacuation corridors set up. I don't wish to see anyone on either side that is truly innocent being harmed either intentionally or as collateral damage. I know it happens, but the goal should always be to limit as best as we can this damage. For the very terrorists to be telling innocent people to stay put and be killed as martyrs is just as horrific as what they did to the Israelis on the other side of the border wall.

I agree with every word.
Hamas has one objective. To erase Israel and all Jewish people off the face of the earth. They have zero loyalty to their own people. None. They use their own as human shields. I don’t see a positive outcome for anyone. As you said, there are no winners.

i'm becoming more and more frightened that this will expand beyond just an Israel-H*mas war...dear god please let me be wrong
I can't imagine this large an attack by Hamas is not part of a larger plan. Otherwise, what was the Hamas plan? Just to murder a lot of people and then take hostages? What does that gain them?

Blurred but graphic.
''Oct 11, 2023
Israeli emergency responders with years of experience doing the grim work of recovering bodies broke down in tears Wednesday as they told CBS News what they'd witnessed in the aftermath of Hamas' brutal terror attack on Israel. The depth of the horror unleashed Saturday by Hamas on Israeli communities near the border with the Gaza Strip was still emerging five days later. CBS News' Holly Williams and Imtiaz Tyab report from Israel.''

This is the moment two Hamas terrorists ambushed Israelis. The attack took place in Be’eri Kibbutz, three miles from Gaza, on Saturday. First the attackers tried to crawl under a gate to get into the kibbutz. But when that failed, they hid behind a security booth and a nearby tree. When a resident arrived to open the gate, the gunmen jumped out. They then ran inside the compound to continue their massacre.'

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to arrive in Israel on Thursday as Israeli airstrikes continue on Gaza, triggering fears of a humanitarian crisis. The Israeli army said it regained full control of communities from Hamas near the Gaza border. As the Israeli soldiers positioned themselves for a potential ground invasion of Gaza, the U.S. said it would send additional military supplies to Israel and warned other militant groups from joining the fight.'

Hamas and Hezbollah began to threaten the United States

The terrorists say that if the US intervenes in the war, they will start bombing their military bases.

"Our missiles will be directed against American bases if they intervene in the 'Flood of Al-Aqsa' battle," said Abu Hussein Al-Hamidawi, secretary general of Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq.

It's getting really bad now. Israel should have crushed Hamas while they could so they could concentrate on the north.

In her interview on MSNBC, Hannie said the US - and the world - must display a united front against Hamas.

'Every dollar you give to Hamas, every dollar you put there, goes for terror. It doesn't go to the poor Arab people that live in Gaza. They could have turned this place into paradise if they'd invest the billions they got from EU and other organizations.

'If they invested it into the people of Gaza instead of bombs and focusing on how to get rid of as many Jews, Israeli as possible, there might have been peace. The only thing I can compare these monsters, these inhuman beings are the Nazis.

'The same kind of people. The world needs to know and the world needs to fight them.

Agreed that any $$ given to the Palestinians does not go towards any humanitarian efforts.

They let their own people suffer whilst the funds are used for attacks such as the recent one, imo.

Renana Gomeh, whose two sons age 12 and 16 were kidnapped by Hamas, became visibly irritated when Mitchell asked her feelings on the attacks in Gaza.
Can't really blame this mother.
Not an 'explosion', but Renana sounds terrified.

Only 12 and 16 years old.
The fear that she may never see them again has to be excruciating.
Omo.

''Friends and family members fear that Judith and Natalie Raanan were taken hostage by Hamas.
The pair had been visiting relatives at the Nahal Oz kibbutz in southern Israel, close to Gaza.
Uri Raanan, Judith's ex-husband and Natalie's father, told a local news station that his daughter texted him after the attack began.
The pair were hiding in a bunker or safe room, Mr Raanan told ABC7 Chicago, but have not been heard from since.
He said that a neighbour had said they saw Hamas militants escort both Judith and Natalie out of the house.

At least 14 American citizens have been killed by Hamas, President Joe Biden said on Tuesday. Another 20 Americans are unaccounted for.''
