Israeli strike hits Aleppo airport - Syrian officials

The Syrian authorities say Aleppo airport has been hit by an Israeli air strike, for the second time in a week.

"The Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Latakia, targeting Aleppo International Airport, which led to material damage to the airport and it being out of service," the Syrian defence ministry is quoted by Reuters news agency as saying.

The airport had just returned to service after being hit on Thursday, in what Syrian officials say had also been an Israeli strike.

There's been no comment from the Israelis.

On Thursday, Syrian state media said Israeli forces had hit the country's two main international airports in Damascus and Aleppo with missiles, putting them out of action.

The airports not only handle civil aviation but also host military bases, which are reportedly transit points for Iranian arms sent to Hezbollah - a militant group which is powerful in both Syria and Lebanon.

Israel-Hamas war live updates: Israel says it’s preparing Gaza ground attack (nbcnews.com)

Finding hostage locations will be the priority for special forces, analyst says

Special forces are most likely heading into or are in Gaza to identify areas where hostages might be held, a retired admiral and MSNBC analyst said tonight.

“What is happening is special forces are flooding into Gaza City, They’re attempting above all to find and fix the location of these hostages,” James Stavridis, retired admiral and MSNBC chief international analyst, said on the network.

Stavridis said that Israel’s military, which has ground forces around Gaza, could also go in by the sea.

I don't know how anyone can look at Hamas atrocities and view the society where they were raised as something separate. The men who did this did not wake up at the age of 18 and decide to hurt people while they are dying. This must be something they learned throughout their lives, to the point where so many young men from one society can slaughter others without conscience ... where torture is something they enjoy.

We keep hearing on the news that the people of Gaza are innocent, good, suffering people who would never harm anyone, but the brutality that we see from this generation of young men from Gaza did not happen overnight. They are a product of their education system, culture and society. I'm not convinced that the siege should end because it's uncomfortable. This isn't a gang of murders. This is a generation of men from Gaza who think like ISIS.
It truly is terrifying. I realize there are innocent people and even men in Gaza.. but how does anyone know who is who? There are always rouge people in any group that might enjoy this type of thing and typically they are punished. US servicemembers have certainly done some things that are revulsive (abusing prisoners, killing those they don't have to, posing for photos, etc) But the vast majority of them have to do things they NEVER want to do and struggle immensely for the rest of their lives. Most take their responsibility seriously and truly kill or be killed in moments of war and they still struggle with what they have done. I can't imagine breeding and training a group of men so fixated on just killing an entire population because they want to and then doing the things that I just observed on that video. That was not acts of war, that was terrifying.. terrifying that people that think like that are part of any "military" aka terrorist group AND seen by many around the world as doing what is necessary and right.

Bragging rights.
Thats why they had GoPro devices. To record their accomplishments.

And to kill all Israelis and Jews.
And share those thrill kills with their compadres (terrorist hamas) and others… who believe the same …

ITA. General Austin has said they are even worse than ISIS.

Regarding alleged strike on civilian convoy:

Jonathan Conricus

@jconricus

As I've repeatedly said, any information from Gaza should be treated with great scepticism. It wouldn't be beneath Hamas to actually bomb civilians trying to flee. @BBCWorld analyzes footage, and does not blame the
@IDF

They are NOT pro Hamas IMO.
They are pro Palestine.
Palestine for all nations living there.

People want PEACE!!!!!!

Is it too MUCH to ask and hope for???
But the Palestinians are NOT in charge of Gaza---Hamas is.

And what is their goal?

EXTREMELY GRAPHIC!!!!

(WARNING: Graphic content) #Hamas murdered over 1,300 civilians and soldiers and kidnapped over 150 people during its attack on #Israel last week. These are just some of the horrific scenes from the assault. Watch and Sharehttp://bit.ly/3FhZh

I’ve always wondered what the most evil is on our Earth and after watching this, I found it. What is wrong with the souls of these beings? That was extremely difficult to watch, especially the [graphic here]….gouging of the eyes. Who, not who, what does this? What justification allows for this? How are people supporting the “cause” here? Oh my goodness, this took my breath. How tragic for those who endured this and are enduring this. Hell on earth.

Ps. Perfect music for that video. That song has always been one of my favorites…Chopin I think. One of the Nocturnes maybe?

Qmfr for reference, check it out:

That song was Chopin Nocturne in C# Sharp Minor.

And look at this:

“The piece was played by Holocaust survivorNatalia Karp for the Nazi concentration camp commandant Amon Goeth, with Goeth being so impressed with the rendition that he spared Karp's life.[4]

This was also the piece played by Holocaust survivor and famed Polish pianist Władysław Szpilman (the central figure of the 2002 Roman Polanski film The Pianist) during the last live broadcast of Polish radio on September 23, 1939 when Warsaw was besieged by the German army.[5] Years later Szpilman also played this piece for German army officer Wilm Hosenfeld upon their first meeting,[6] though in the corresponding film scene Szpilman plays an abridged version of Chopin's Ballade No. 1 in G minor, Op. 23. Hosenfeld later helped Szpilman hide and provided food to him in the last months of the war.”

Apparently labelling mass kidnapping during a murder rampage as an "arrest" is okay, but labelling genocide as "terrorist" activity violates the BBCs moral code of ensuring that the audience can decide for themselves.

"A BBC spokesperson noted it was a long-standing position for its reporters not to use the term themselves unless attributing it to someone else.
...

"Calling someone a terrorist means you're taking sides and ceasing to treat the situation with due impartiality. The BBC's job is to place the facts before its audience and let them decide what they think, honestly and without ranting."

They should play this at every pro - Hamas / Palestinian rally held around the world on big screens - they need to know the atrocities committed in their name

I think this is the kind of cooperation Egypt wants to be producing: Shipping and storage of humanitarian supplies to be sent into Gaza and used there.

I also think they will do just about anything to avoid having to accept Gaza refugees onto their soil, ending up with a chronic refugee camp of hundreds of thousands of exiles, just as Turkey has ended up with hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.

And I don't think Iran cares at all about the civilians in Gaza, or what their fate is, or who has to take care of the problem.
Why doesn't Egypt want all the refugees?

If you look around and see which cities and countries had the largest pro-Hamas protests, you will see which cities and countries had accepted a lot of emergency refugees fleeing from Muslim countries. Belgium, Sweden, and the cities of Paris, London, to name a few.

The Louvre museum in Paris closes “for security reasons,” while France is on high alert following an Islamist stabbing attack in the northeastern town of Arras.

“The Louvre received a written message stating that there was a risk to the museum and its visitors,” a spokeswoman tells AFP after announcing the closure on social media. “We have decided… to evacuate and close it for the day, while we carry out the necessary checks.”

I remember back in the day we did the light a candle online for Dylan Redwine.

I wonder if we can light a candle for these hostages, these victims, these families…

I’m out of actual candles, but maybe some of you out there can light a candle tonight. :(. Not only for those lost, and for everyyyone who is suffering, but especially as a prayer of comfort for the hostages, for what they may be going through right now. It’s so awful to imagine… :(

I think Israel is holding a virtual mass funeral (though it may have been last night). I will check and get back to you.
