"To its credit, the BBC this week launched an urgent probe into journalists working for its Arabic service in the Middle East, following their support of Hamas on social media platforms.

The British Government does recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization.

Since November 2021, Hamas members or supporters who are identified as such in Britain, can be imprisoned for up to 14 years."

Thanks for the link regarding a report of BBC journalists liking and sharing tweets which break the BBC's editorial policy for social media use.

I wonder what Sky and LBC will do about their reporters doing the same or if the same organisation is monitoring them and reporting on them too?

examples:
sky's international affairs editor

I can add the ITV examples and others but the post will become very long

It's almost as if it's only a problem if the BBC does it. Very selective, very strange - almost as if there's an agenda

Iran-backed groups said to target US bases with drones in Syria

Syrian opposition activists say a drone attack has been conducted on an oil facility in eastern Syria housing American troops and a US base in a nearby area.

There was no immediate word on casualties and the US military didn’t immediately respond to requests for confirmation.

Omar Abu Layla, a Europe-based activist who heads the Deir Ezzor 24 media outlet, says that three drones with explosives struck the Conoco gas field in the eastern province of Deir el-Zour that borders Iraq.

Rami Abdurrahman of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor, confirms that five explosions were heard at the Conoco gas field.

The Observatory also reported that three drones attacked the US base of Tanf in eastern Syria near where the borders of Syria, Jordan and Iraq meet. It said two drones were shot down before reaching their targets while the third hit the base, causing some material damage.

The Observatory and Abu Layla say the attack appears to be the work of Iran-based fighters who are deployed in eastern Syria and western Iraq.

Palestinians say Gaza toll rises to 3,785

The death toll in Gaza since Israel declared war has risen to 3,785, including 1,524 children, 1,000 women and 120 older people, the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza says.

In addition, 12,493 others have been wounded, including 3,983 children and 3,300 women, it says.

Is that according to Hamas? We know that Hamas stores weapons in residential areas, and that they are firing their hand made weapons from residential areas. It's quite likely that the missile that fell into a parking lot is not the only faulty Hamas missile.

We know that as soon as Hamas bombs their own people, they immediately released a statement both exaggerating the damage and blaming Israel.

Drone strike hits Palestinan gunmen in West Bank clash

An Israel Defense Forces drone has struck a cell of armed Palestinians in the Nur Shams refugee camp, close to the West Bank city of Tulkarem, amid heavy clashes in the area, The Times of Israel has learned.

The Palestinian Authority health ministry reports that three Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the camp this afternoon, while a fourth was shot dead in clashes late last night.

IDF troops and police officers continue to operate in the camp in order to detain wanted Palestinians. Earlier, police said officers were clashing with gunmen in the area.

European Parliament issues call for a ‘humanitarian pause’ in Gaza

The European Parliament calls for a “humanitarian pause” in Gaza to make sure aid can reach the needy and stresses that Israel’s right to defend itself can only be done within the strictures of international law.

In the nonbinding resolution adopted by a 500-21 vote, with 24 abstentions, European lawmakers also call for the immediate release of all hostages kidnapped by Hamas.

The call for a “humanitarian pause” stops short of demanding a ceasefire.

Hamas says no aid shipments have entered Gaza so far

Hamas’s spokesman for the Rafah crossing, Wael Abu Omar, says that no aid or road repairing equipment has entered Gaza from Egypt as of this afternoon.

Egypt and Israel reached a deal yesterday to allow aid to enter the Palestinian territory through the Rafah crossing.

I won't be throwing the baby out with the bathwater, so to speak. BBC can weed out any journalists that have breached policy. I still consider them one of the more reputable and balanced sources.

They obviously are being transparent. And they have a board to answer to.

imo

Warning: Intelligence sources tell us that Hamas is working on a fabricated video to hide the misfiring of an Islamic Jihad rocket on a hospital in Gaza and falsely accuse Israel of doing so.

Remember that this is a terrorist organization, the same organization that runs the Gazan Ministry of Health.

We have shared authentic materials which hold Hamas and Islamic Jihad responsible for their actions. Please trust verified sources only.

Iranian Regime, they’re your rockets, you dumb murderers.

(For reference, the Iranian Regime put up this billboard in Tehran today).

It's almost as if they're being held to a different standard than others are.

TBH I don't follow much BBC news. If I do any it's BBC radio 4 or BBC news podcasts etc. This week is first time I've spent any significant time looking at their website - because of the seriousness of this crisis & having to compare what they publish compared to other news sites because of WS posts.

Trigger warning: These are some of the most horrific descriptions that have been shared from Zaka volunteers in the aftermath of the #HamasMassacre.

Listen to the Zaka first responders who recovered remains of Israeli men, women and children murdered by Hamas terrorists.

Students at @TelAvivUni covered all of the chairs in their auditorium with photos and names of the Israeli men, women and children murdered by Hamas.

A heartbreaking and stirring tribute to the dead.

May their souls rest in peace.

I still need to question why Egypt is not allowing Dual Palestinian-Foreign Nationals to exit (even by foot); nor foreign nationals.
I believe that the Egyptians are afraid that a trickle will turn into a flood- and that Israel would accelerate the flood like in the past

In 1948, millions of Palestinians left their homes in the course of a war- some voluntarily, some "voluntarily" and others out right expelled by officially tolerated groups of Israeli irregular extremist militias such as the Stern Gang and Irgun.

- Then toss in that nobody really wants refugees anymore.

- Then blend in that and that over the last 80 years, bored, drifting- and heavily armed Palestinian groups have pulled enough big and small "stunts" in neighboring countries to have worn out the welcome mats

The number of hostages went up again :(

IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says the military has so far notified the families of 203 hostages that their loved ones are being held in the Gaza Strip.

He says the number is not final, as the IDF is constantly investigating new information on Israelis who have gone missing since the October 7 onslaught. He says that in some of the cases, the families were notified that the military suspects with high confidence that they are being held by Hamas. But in other cases, he says the military has moderate-to-low confidence that they are hostages. Hagari says the IDF has also ruled out some cases, and updated the families that their loved ones are not being held hostage. The IDF has been scanning the Gaza border area for bodies of missing Israelis, locating some, and many bodies are still waiting to be identified.

Remains of missing Israeli mom of 2 identified, family says

The Israeli mother of two was at the music festival in south Israel celebrating her 40th birthday when she and others came under ambush from Hamas militants during the initial surprise attack. Her family tells us her body was unrecognizable and recovered in a field within 10 kilometers of the music festival.
Love her forehead jewelry !

Horrifying that she was murdered on her birthday .
Rest in gentle peace, Sharona.

IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says the military cannot yet rule out the possibility that there are still Palestinian terrorists in Israeli territory from the Oct. 7 infiltration. “We haven’t finished scanning the [Gaza border area] yet,” he says. Hagari says that last night, troops found and arrested an “exhausted terrorist” who was trying to head back to Gaza.

IDF says troops have arrested 524 wanted Palestinians across the West Bank, including more than 330 affiliated with Hamas, since the war began on Oct. 7. Overnight, 63 Hamas members were detained.

Police say officers are clashing with Palestinian gunmen in the Nur Shams refugee camp near the West Bank city of Tulkarem, amid an arrest raid.

They'd have nothing to do with "displacement of Gazan residents".
With dual citizenship, couldn't Egypt then expel them to the other country of citizenship ?
There is something else going on here that may have been answered in my response to another post : Some countries seem to fear these people; maybe due to the actions of some of them, but not all ?
Omo.

Palestinian media report that Jihad Muheisen, head of the National Security Forces in the Gaza Strip, was killed in a strike on the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City. No comment yet from the IDF.

IDF says six rockets launched from Lebanon at northern Israel: 1 intercepted, 5 landed in open areas causing no damage. Separately, another anti-tank guided missile was fired, and gunfire was heard near Zar'it, the IDF says. It adds that it is responding with artillery shelling at the sources of the attacks.

Rocket fire on Beersheba and nearby towns.

IDF publishes a video showing a drone strike against a group of Palestinian gunmen in the Nur Shams refugee camp, close to the West Bank city of Tulkarem, earlier today.

Good!
They found a real bias and hopefully it will be gone.
We need accuracy!
