There have now been at least 7 Attacks on U.S. Forces in Iraq and Syria within the last 48 Hours not including the Interception of several Missiles and Drones launched from the Houthis in Yemen by a U.S. Navy Destroyer.

The Israeli Air Force has Targeted more Hamas Positions and Buildings tonight in the Gaza Strip than I have seen in a number of Days possibly since last Week.

During the Rocket Attack tonight on U.S. Forces at the Victory Base Complex and Baghdad International Airport in Central Iraq, 1 Rocket was Shot Down by the Base’s Close-In Weapons Systems while another Impacted a Facility used by U.S. Personnel; Thankfully the Damage to the Base is only Minimal and No Injures occurred.

Parts of Greek Orthodox Church in Gaza City collapse

Parts of Gaza’s oldest church, which was sheltering displaced families, have collapsed in an explosion.

Ibrahim Jahshan, a Palestinian Christian who is a singer and caretaker of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Porphyrios, said he was there when the blast happened and had been sheltering there with his family.

“We didn’t leave our church. We leave our house, we leave our homes, but we will die here,” he said, adding that there were still bodies under the rubble that people were trying to rescue.

100 to 300 killed in Al-Ahli Arab hospital blast, US intelligence estimates

The US intelligence community has estimated there were likely 100 to 300 people killed in the blast at the Al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, but added that the assessment may evolve, according to excerpts of a document seen on Thursday by several media outlets.

The number is lower than the 471 deaths that health authorities in the Hamas-ruled enclave originally described.

An unclassified US intelligence assessment, provided to the AFP news agency by a Capitol Hill source, estimates the number of people killed at the hospital on Tuesday night at the “low end of the 100-to-300 spectrum.”

“We are still assessing the likely casualty figures and our assessment may evolve, but this death toll still reflects a staggering loss of life,” the document said.

“The United States takes seriously the deaths of all civilians, and is working intensively to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” the document said.

“Hagar Brodutch, 40, her daughter Ofri, 10, and sons Yuval, 8, and Oria, 4, were at Kfar Aza, a kibbutz near the border with Gaza, when Hamas struck, according to Avichai Brodutch, Hagar's husband and the children's father. He told ABC News that he initially believed they were dead - but then received a message from the kibbutz that they had been seen alive, being led away.”

“Daphna Elyakim, 15, and her sister Ella, 8, were seen on video being held in their home in the Nahal Oz kibbutz by Hamas militants, relatives said. The girls' father Noam Elyakim, Noam's partner Dikla Arava, and her 17-year-old son Tomer were killed. Relatives said Ella and Daphna have appeared in photos posted by Hamas.”

Where is Hamas posting these photos exactly. I meant to look for this the other day via Daily Mail content that said Hamas posted and got sidetracked.

Videos have emerged from the 7 October attacks by Hamas on civilians in southern Israel, showing some of those targeted being held in their homes and live-streamed by the attackers themselves.

“One of those is Nir Darwish, a UK-based relative of a family of five who disappeared from the Nahal Oz kibbutz.

The family - Noam Elyakim, his partner Dikla Arava, her 17-year-old son Tomer, and Noam's two daughters Daphna, 15, and Ella, 8 - are seen apparently being held in their home by the attackers. The girls, who live with their mother, were thought to be visiting their father to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the kibbutz.

But on Monday this week, the extended family got news from the authorities that Dikla and Tomer had been killed and that their bodies had been found outside the kibbutz.

Mr Darwish says that several photos posted by Hamas show Ella and Daphna in captivity. The BBC has been unable to independently verify this.

On Tuesday, Mr Darwish told the BBC that it had been confirmed that Noam - who is seen in the live-streamed video with a leg wound - was dead. The last photo of him appears to show him being led down a dusty road by the attackers.”

Nir Darwish said he found the video of the girls heart-breaking
Nir, a cousin of the Elyakims, believes the girls are in Gaza, and that Hamas is keeping them in a tunnel somewhere.

“"They are sitting [in the photos] on a mattress and there is no natural light, so that's 100% in Gaza," he tells the BBC.

He adds that some time passed between the live stream and the photos being posted, which would have given the attackers time to get back to Gaza.”

American woman who survived attack at Supernova festival pleads for help in Washington

WASHINGTON — A Jewish American woman who survived the Hamas terrorist attack on the Supernova music festival that killed at least 260 people in Israel was in Washington on Thursday to plead for support from U.S. government officials.

Natalie Sanandanji, a New Yorker born to Israeli and Iranian parents, said she feels “detached” from her near-death experience.

“I do believe that the fact that I feel so detached is what’s giving me the strength to share my story and for now I’m going to use that strength because I share my story as much as I can," she told NBC News at the Capitol.

The 28-year-old met with second gentleman Doug Emhoff and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, including Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who is the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in U.S. history.

She said in addition to humanitarian and military aid — part of a supplemental funding request expected to be unveiled this week by the Biden administration — lawmakers need to speak up about the uptick in violence and threats against the Jewish community.

“A lot of people have asked me if I feel safe, now that I’m back in the States and honestly, the answer is no,” Sanandanji said, referencing pro-Palestinian demonstrations across the country.

"This isn’t a fight between Israel and Palestine. This is a fight between Israel and Hamas, a terrorist organization," she said. "Killing innocent people is not going to free Palestine and Hamas is just as complicit in the deaths of innocent Palestinians as they are in the deaths of innocent Israelis.”

Both antisemitic incidents and hate crimes against Palestinians and Muslims, as well as discriminatory rhetoric and threats, have been reported since the war began.

Sanandanji recounted her harrowing experience as she narrowly escaped death nearly two weeks ago.

When she heard the initial rockets, she said a local told her not to worry — it happens often in that area, and the music would probably resume soon. But minutes later, the rockets only intensified, and Sanandanji was told to get in her car and leave.

“At this point, I thought to myself we’re going to be stuck in traffic for a while, it’s gonna take a while for us to get out,” she said. “I went to the bathrooms by the exit of the festival, and a few days ago I saw a video surface of the Hamas terrorists going to those exact bathrooms, moments after I was there, and just shooting at every stall — trying to kill anyone who was hiding. And so that’s one of the moments where it hit me the hardest, how close I was to not being here today.”

After it became clear armed Hamas militants had stormed the area, Sanandanji and her friends ran for four hours to get to the nearest town. They hid under a tree to catch their breath when a white pickup began driving towards the group. “We kind of all looked at each other and realized we have nowhere to run to if this is a terrorist. We just kind of all sat back down and accepted our fate.”

But it wasn’t a terrorist. It was a stranger who saved their lives.

"He picked us up he drove us to his town and as soon as he dropped us off, I didn’t even have a chance to thank him. He turned right back around to save more kids,” she recalled, holding back tears. “Whether it was God watching over me or whether it was luck? I don’t know. But I’d like to believe that it was God watching over me and I believe it’s my duty to share this story for all those who can’t.”

Despite expectations the border between Egypt and Gaza could reopen later today to allow humanitarian aid into the coastal enclave, the Rafah crossing is expected to remain shuttered, according to CNN.

The report cites multiple sources, including one familiar with the discussions on the matter between Israel, Egypt and the Unites States, who says the situation is “volatile.”

“I would not put money on those trucks going through tomorrow,” the source is quoted as saying.

“An Israeli woman received an unthinkably tragic update on the fate of her daughter, who has autism, and her elderly mother 12 days after they were taken by Hamas: their bodies were found at the Gaza border, authorities told the family.

Galit Dan's daughter Noya, 12, and her mother Carmela, 80, were taken from their homes during the Hamas attacks on their Kibbutz, Nir Oz, on Oct. 7. Dan said three other members of their family are still missing: her niece Sarah, 16, nephew Erez, 12, and brother-in-law Ofer, 52.”

Dan's sister, Hadas Kalderon, the mother of Sarah and Erez, told ABC News, "I have no time to grieve, I need to save my children's lives."

“The bodies of Noya Dan, a 12-year-old autistic Israeli girl, and her grandmother Carmela, 80 — who were initially believed to have been held hostage by Hamas in Gaza — have been found, the Kan public broadcaster reported on Thursday.

On Monday, while Noya’s fate was still unknown, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling retweeted a post highlighting the child’s uncertain situation that was initially posted by the State of Israel’s official X account.

Rowling wrote, “For obvious reasons, this picture has hit home with me,” the author says, adding that kidnapping children is “despicable and wholly unjustifiable,” and expressing hope for the release of all captives in Gaza.”

In a late night interview with CNN, IDF spokesperson Jonathan Conricus was asked to comment on how soon a ground offensive may begin.

“The IDF is deployed along the Gaza strip. The reserves are ready, equipped and standing by,” he said. But he would not “advertise” when activities would begin.

“Ground activity is one of the options, one of the tools at our disposal,” he added.

Egypt’s president agreed for the border crossing to open. It appears it is Israel that’s blocking humanitarian aid.

Thursday 19 October 2023

As trucks line up on the sides of the long road that goes straight to Gaza, they make calls back and forth to aid coordinators in Cairo who share their frustration. They have been told "today or tomorrow" until the border opens for five days.

President Abdel fattah el Sisi has called on people to protest in support of the Palestinian cause and the opening of the Rafah border crossing for aid transfer - a far cry from his usually heavy-handed disciplinary approach towards civil unrest.

The news that Egypt’s president, Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, has agreed to open the Rafah border crossing into Gaza to allow in 20 trucks with humanitarian aid comes as people in the territory face a humanitarian crisis, more than a week after Israel imposed a “complete siege” and cut off entry of supplies to Gaza.

Fears have been growing that people in Gaza are beginning to dehydrate to death as clean water runs out, while Israeli airstrikes have pounded the Palestinian territory of 2.3 million residents amid a total blockade on food, electricity, medicine and fuel.

I thought we've been waiting for Egypt to repair the road. Has that been completed?

I've read so many news stories that families took refuge in the "safe room" of their home. Wouldn't they also have food and water supplies in those safe rooms? We live in an area of the U.S. often hit with tornadoes. Our storm shelter in our basement also has food/water supplies for us and our pets, pillows, blankets, a first-aid kit, flashlights, etc.

The sociopath terrorists who call themselves, "Hamas" want to flee the region. I hope the Israeli military obliterates them.

Are you doubting that people in Gaza have no food and water?
