Several reports of Al Jazeera correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh's family being killed...wife, son and daughter.
So tragic.

"Al Jazeera Arabic producer Safwat al-Kahlout in Gaza’s Deir el-Balah tells us about Dahdouh and his slain family members:

I’ve known Wael for more than 20 years. … His family is one of the most famous families in the Gaza Strip. It’s a well-known family.

“He paid the bill for reporting the truth, which was expected. And now, we have been receiving lots of phone calls from relatives to move and change our places, especially those "who live abroad, thinking that there could be a safe place."

"Dahdouh, a veteran Al Jazeera journalist, was “delivering the truth to the international community and to everyone in the world about what is happening on the ground” when he received the news, Abu Azzoum said.

His family was “residing in the house in … al-Nuseirat refugee camp. The Israeli aircraft targeted the house,” he said."

I have not been able to find the interview I saw last night on CNN where Peter Lerner was interviewed and said that most hospitals in Gaza now have solar panels because power there has always been a very sketchy situation. Countries from all over the world have helped these hospitals get solar powering - Canada, China , Japan to name a few.

Night is an issue with solar power, unless there is some type of battery storage. We have that issue with the Texas grid. Battery back up is very limited here.

Also, if the solar collector is damaged, it doesn't do much good.

Nowhere is safe for the Palestinians. Nowhere.

re: Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau chief, Wael Al-Dahdou

"In a statement, he said his family had fled their home in the northern Gaza Strip following Israel’s order to evacuate and were staying in the Nuseirat refugee camp."
"In a clip circulating on social media, Al-Dahdouh said his family were being housed in what was “supposed to be the safe area” for Palestinians of Gaza City to evacuate to."

It’s better than no power at all when power is sketchy to begin with. Yes, it’s not the cure all, but I’m reading how much it has helped both civilian households in Gaza as well as businessess.

They can’t depend on Hamas to give them fuel that is being stolen to use in the tunnels and to promote terrorism, so other means of getting power is being explored and implemented. Can’t see a negative in that.

According to Key News, a Los Angeles stringer service, two adults and four children were inside the home at the time, and the intruder threatened to kill the family.

Remember last week when we were told they had "hours of fuel" remaining? Interesting how they are all still running...

Among them was Alyssa Farah Griffin, a CNN contributor and co-host of The View, who tweeted furiously: 'Stunning interview with Queen Rania.
She attempts to morally equivocate between Israeli retaliatory strikes & Hamas’ terrorism. Spare me your outrage while you live in luxury & refuse to take Palestinian refugees.'
Zero condemnation for Hamas
killing their own people and holding them hostage in Gaza, which she bizarrely calls “occupied by Israel” even though they left in 2005.

Red bolding mine.

I think it's important to note that it's possible many deaths are being blamed on Israeli strikes that could be Hamas' misfires.
Or placing civilians near Israeli targets which if Hamas is doing this, it's despicable.
How to know for certain ?
It's difficult unless you're there in person, reporting.

"Israel agrees to delay Gaza invasion until US installs missile defences to protect American troops in the region - which could be ready as soon as this week."

Thanks for linking this !^^^

The article states this family was killed in an Israeli strike, but it doesn't say they were at a refugee camp ?
I have doubts that the IDF would target a refugee camp filled with civilians.
The IDF took time to warn people to evacuate and it boggles the mind that they'd target civilians.

What if Hamas didn't like what he was reporting and took his family out themselves ?
Re. the bolded : My .02 is that Hamas do not want anyone reporting anything close to the truth -- who are there on the streets of Gaza, so to speak.
This sounds somewhat sketch.

Thanks, you beat me to it -- I was just going to link this article. :)

From the link :
Threats to the US troops were of paramount concern, US officials told the WSJ.
The US military and other officials believe their forces will be targeted by militant groups once Israel launches its ground invasion of the Hamas-ruled Palestinian territory, according to the report.

So far, there have been at least 13 missile and drone attacks against US troops in Iraq and Syria, which caused the death of one American contractor. The strikes also destroyed an American drone.

Basically we're at war with Iraq and Syria ... without it being official.
Maybe 'skirmish' is more appropriate ?
This is frightening that these nations are attacking the US, we are there to defend Israel, not to attack Iran or Syria.
It's not as if these countries don't understand that, either.
They're playing (maybe to them ?) a chess game, and they're cheating.
Imo.

As the fighting raged on, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah held talks with senior Hamas and Islamic Jihad representatives in Beirut about how to achieve 'real victory... in Gaza and Palestine' and stop Israel's 'brutal aggression', the Lebanese movement said.

Jordan's King Abdullah became the latest regional leader to warn that ongoing violence could 'lead to an explosion' in the wider Middle East after talks with visiting French President Emmanuel Macron.

Emphasis mine.

Israel wasn't the aggressor and didn't start all of this.
King Abdullah could allow Palestinians to emigrate there before placing blame on the innocent parties.
Yes I understand Jordan doesn't want the residents of Gaza --particularly Hamas -- living there.
Wonder why ?
I believe we have a good idea why that is.
Even if Jordan allowed the Palestinians to move there as asylum seekers, it would be nearly impossible to separate the non-violent residents from the ones who perpetrated the attack on Oct. 7th.

Not all Gaza hospitals are still running. I don't find it interesting, I find it incredibly inhumane.

Well hopefully Hamas will generously give the hospitals the fuel they have been storing in their tunnels instead of further endangering civilian lives.

Hospitals require safe water, medical supplies, relief workers, etc. There is a very serious negative when all of it is lacking.

My point was that they have been trying to remedy this problem for awhile now. Did you read the link I attached? I applaud them for this as it’s a step in the right direction freeing them on their dependency on Hamas’s reign.

Thanks for the link.

From the article :
“Al Jazeera’s broadcasts and reports constitute incitement against Israel, help Hamas-ISIS and the terror organizations with their propaganda, and encourage violence against Israel,”
This makes it sound like AJ news is figuratively aiding Hamas ?
Contributing to the group who committed the attack on Oct. 7th ?
