Palestinian Sources in Gaza are claiming that a few minutes before the Explosion in the Egyptian Town of Taba a Rocket Launch was seen from the Gaza Strip, but there was never any Red Alert sounded in Israel, leading some to believe that the Unknown Missile/Rocket which Impacted the Town was a Hamas “Ayyash-250” Long-Range Rocket with a Range of roughly 250km but that would be pushing it considering that Tada is about 200km from Gaza.

WATCH: Biden spokesperson hits back at reporter criticizing US response to Gaza war

White House spokesperson John Kirby hits back at a reporter during a press briefing who called US President Joe Biden’s dismissal of the Hamas-run health ministry’s death tally “harsh.”

“What’s harsh — what’s harsh is the way Hamas is using people as human shields. What’s harsh is taking a couple of hundred hostages and leaving families and anxious, waiting and worrying to figure out where their loved ones are. What’s harsh, is dropping in on a music festival and slaughtering a bunch of young people just trying to enjoy an afternoon,” Kirby says.

“I could go on and on. That’s what’s harsh. That is what’s harsh and being honest about the fact that there have been civilian casualties and that there likely will be more is being honest because that’s what war is. It’s brutal, it’s ugly, it’s messy. I’ve said that before. The president also said that yesterday. That doesn’t mean we have to like it, and it doesn’t mean that we’re dismissing anyone of those casualties — each and every one is a tragedy in its own right… It would be helpful if Hamas would let [Gazans] leave… We know that there are thousands waiting to leave Gaza writ large and Hamas is preventing them from doing it. That is what is harsh.”

Taba, Egypt .... about 200kms from Gaza (South East), so def not Israeli.

Couple of possibles:

- Hamas in Gaza was attempting to hit Eilat, Israel (beautiful place to vacay BTW) and just missed onto the Egyptian side of the border on the Red Sea; or
- possibly another Yemeni missile falling short
Egyptian Taba

My colleague who is a diving fanatic spent holidays there.
He said it is a perfect place for a carefree holiday.
Nice sandy beaches, turquoise sea, picturesque mountains and sunny weather.
A dream destination for divers who will discover wonderful coral reefs there.
The great advantage of the resort is its location on the Gulf of Aqaba.

Oh well,
Not any more a perfect place to visit :(

''As war rages between Israel and Hamas fighters in Gaza, there have been several documented incidents in recent days of people ripping down posters of Israelis kidnapped by the terrorist group.
The posters of missing people, created as part of an activist street art campaign by two Israeli artists who were in New York when war broke out, have quickly gone up in cities around the world to call attention to their situation. However, many of the flyers have come down just as abruptly.''

'CBS News reported last week on posters being removed in the heavily Jewish suburb of Nyack, New York. While the posters once filled a local Starbucks window, most of them have been ripped down, leaving only remnants behind, the outlet reported.'

Yep, it's about 10kms down the coast from Eilat, Israel and Aqaba, Jordan.

Beautiful swimming and diving all around those parts.

Missile strikes Egyptian border town of Taba injuring 6; IDF aware of the incident

A missile fell near a medical facility in the Egyptian Red Sea resort town of Taba next to the Israeli border, injuring six people Egypt’s Al Qahera News reports.

The IDF says it is aware of a security incident on the other side of its border with Egypt.

It is not clear whether the missile was related to the Gaza war or whether it was an errant launch.

Hamas targetting Egypt? I don't think so. If this was a Hamas rocket fired south eastwards from the Gaza, they were probably hoping to hit Eilat, Israel but got Taba, Egypt instead. Both resort towns are very close together.

"Today, at President Biden’s direction, U.S. military forces conducted self-defense strikes on two facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and affiliated groups. These precision self-defense strikes are a response to a series of ongoing and mostly unsuccessful attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria by Iranian-backed militia groups that began on October 17...

...The United States does not seek conflict and has no intention nor desire to engage in further hostilities, but these Iranian-backed attacks against U.S. forces are unacceptable and must stop... If attacks by Iran’s proxies against U.S. forces continue, we will not hesitate to take further necessary measures to protect our people.
These narrowly tailored strikes in self-defense were intended solely to protect and defend U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria. They are separate and distinct from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, and do not constitute a shift in our approach to the Israel-Hamas conflict. We continue to urge all state and non-state entities not to take action that would escalate into a broader regional conflict."

US strikes sites used by Iran, its proxies in Syria after attacks on American troops

Earlier today, US military forces stuck two facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and affiliated groups in response to a recent series of attacks against American personnel based in Iraq and Syria by Iran-backed militias, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announces.

One American contractor for the US military died from a heart attack while sheltering during one of those strikes and 21 US soldiers suffered were lightly injured before returning to duty shortly thereafter, the Pentagon says.

US President Joe Biden “directed today’s action to make clear that the United States will not tolerate such attacks and will defend itself, its personnel, and its interests,” Austin says in a statement.

Some former military commanders say a forceful U.S. response is required and that militias in Iraq should not be off-limits if they mount drone and rocket attacks against U.S. forces.

“I don’t think we should take it,” retired Army Gen. Joseph L. Votel, who led U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) from 2016-2019, told Air & Space Forces Magazine. “We have to be willing to back up our narrative.”

“Iraq is a unique location,” Votel added. “We are there at the invitation of the Iraqi government, and our actions there can have an impact on the internal politics and stability of the country. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean our troops should have to absorb the risk of being attacked by Iranian-aligned militia groups in Iraq.”

Ok, thanks for clarifying !

Targeting tourists or locals relaxing at a resort ?
More inhumanity. :(

Live updates: Israel-Hamas war rages, Gaza deaths mount, US passes resolution (cnn.com)

Israel says raids will continue as it prepares for a ground incursion.

The Israel Defense Forces will continue ground raids into Gaza in the coming days to prepare for the next stages of the war against Hamas, spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari announced Thursday.

He said the IDF continues its strikes against Gaza from air and sea, and is focusing on killing senior Hamas commanders and destroying Hamas infrastructure.

"There will be more," vowed Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant at a news briefing Thursday.

Gallant's comments echoed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address on Wednesday, during which he said Israel is "raining down hellfire on Hamas" and "preparing for a ground incursion."

They don't discriminate between children or adults to get what they want. The Avivim school bus bombing was a terrorist attack on an Israeli school bus on 22 May 1970, in which 12 civilians were killed, nine of them children, and 25 were wounded.

It might be a Hamas attempt at a "false flag" attack. In this kind of scenario, Hamas would launch a rocket into Egypt with the hope that Israel would be blamed. With the media climate as it is, especially in the Arab world, Israel could be blamed for such an attack. To Hamas, a positive outcome would be hostilities or a break in diplomatic relations between Israel and Egypt.

Important to note here that the Israeli Military actually takes it's orders from it's government who were elected by the citizens of Israel.

It's absolutely horrific that Hamas took innocent children, babies, women, men, the elderly and the young as hostage and forcibly relocated them to Gaza in the first place, let alone won't set them free or allow the Red Cross (ICRC) access to them IAW the Geneva Conventions. That access may very well give some of their families comfort and hope.

Something new from my country's MSM

"Will there be a breakthrough?

'Hotline' launched.

'A significant event'
can be expected in the near future.

According to the latest media reports,
Israel is ready to make 'some concessions'.
However, it sets clear conditions.

Late on Thursday evening, the Times of Israel website reported that Israel made an offer to Qatari mediators, expressing its readiness to offer 'something in return' provided that Hamas decides to release a 'significant' number of hostages.
The proposal was forwarded to Qatari mediators through the so-called 'hotline'.

The information presented refers to previous events, when Jerusalem rejected proposals to resume fuel supplies to Gaza.
The reason for this decision was concerns that the fuel could be intercepted by Hamas.

The Times of Israel website emphasizes that the official position of the Israeli government is that the hostages should be released without any preconditions.

However, the portal points out that it is not clear whether Israel offered anything in return for the release of the first four hostages, which took place last week."

I can't begin to grasp the emotional pain those hostage families must be feeling when they see the images of such massive destruction in those Gaza neighborhoods.
