Thank you all for the info -- I'm totally out of the loop here.

Okay I apologize for being OT, however on Nancy Grace I heard something that I am sure I never heard before? You guys may have discussed it ad naseum, however...JA and YM ask about her being in contact with Caylee's dad's parents...and she says something to the effect that..."No I haven't talked to them in years - not since we were six or seven years old." Do we know of "boys" that she knew or that have been interviewed that she knew that long ago? If there is an existing thread of this can someone point me in the right direction? Or has this been discussed to the nth degree and nothing there?

I don't know the answer, but I remember that part of the interview before and wondered if it was something she'd made up. It seemed odd to me, if true, unless she'd recently reacquainted with Caylee's dad and therefore lost contact with his parents because of having not seen him for years. :waitasec: MOO

Going on pure recollection here, but I think she may be (lying) actually referring to Ryan, once again cherry-picking her "responses" based on what has been said. As for the father thing...Still no news

Today's NG is a rehash/repeat of the first interview tapes with LE. I haven't listened to them is quite some time, but my god, the lies. The LIES. It's staggering. She's 12, expecting someone to give her "no phone" for a week and then all better. Stunning. And did I mention the lies?

I agree BigFatMommyDog (LOL)...she seems like she doesn't understand the trouble she is in. She says many things that are very easy to confirm, yet I truly think she believes LE won't bother. That she is so convincing they will just say..."Oh - ok...that makes sense...we'll just go look for the nanny then. Thanks Casey!" Those lies just roll off her lips so freely and in many instances with very little hesitation. Of course that is also why so many of them are such bad lies...

Perhaps because she has never faced consequences before, she figures she will get out of this somehow too. I think she still believes that to this day. I have heard these tapes too many times to count...but I still find them fascinating.

Thanks and howdy TX (whole family in TX, me in Chicago).

I know there are thousands of posts devoted to "how can she act this way?!!!" And while I totally agree, listening to those tapes again really brought it home to me again. Some where along the line she figured out that "if I just keep talking they'll believe me...or at least get tired of it and bug off!" I have often thought that she comes from a household where "he who yells the loudest longest wins." I just hadn't listened to those particular tapes in several months... Can you imagine what a jury will think hearing them "cold?" She's picks up every thread LE mentions and spins it -- a month after her child is missing. "Oh well golly. Geez mam, our mistake." I said staggering before, but it's actualy stultifying to hear in the cold light of January

Howdy right back! :) Wouldn't you love to "see" that interrogation? I know it wasn't videotaped...but I would have loved to watch her facial expressions, body language and demeanor. I close my eyes sometimes and listen to the way she says things, her inflections, her emotion. You can tell that many times when she is confronted in this tape she appears like a child being scolded....I picture her with her head held low. Answering very quietly. Then other times she seems very defiant and bold and shoves statements right back at them. When she gets in one of her long monologues...she starts in with the "fancy" words again - trying to sound very credible and precise. It would be very fascinating to be able to watch the body language when she was confronted by LE (as opposed to her parents at the jail).

Yes Marla - I sure hope so! Let's keep our fingers crossed it's tomorrow. I would bet the media is tired of not having anything new to report either. So hopefully they will be all over this as soon as possible!

Re-listening to the Universal LE interview it really struck me how KC was working to weave her story and she seemed very confident in that she'd be seen as the victim, they'd believe her and, she was even talking about how she'd always regret not being in better control of Caylee -- as if this was a done deal.

Even though she was being called out on her lies, she still plugged on as if this was working and provided even more easily verifiable lies -- even offered access to her computer!!!!

It did strike me as silly when she said she had tried to call Zanny's Mom, did not get her but, could not recall her name at all. Doh! She said some really stupid lies.

At the end of the day, LE tried to rationalize and reason with her and she just danced around them and expected it to work out. No wonder she was so pissed with LE and her parents when they threw her in jail.

What I find fascinating is here is this 22 year old small statured woman in a small room with 3 LEOs whom she does not know, and she has been caught in so many lies, and she has no fear! She is simply not afraid. I would be afraid of being in a room with 3 strange men who had their attention on me and what I'm saying even if I didn't do anything wrong. At least 2 of these men are as old as her father. I find that fascinating. It speaks volumes of her self confidence, and her possible inability to feel fear. The videos of her stealing, writing bad checks are more times when fear, or unease whould be normal, but she doesn't appear to have any at all. imo.

You are very right. It is one thing to be able to stand up to your parents...but quite another to stand up to 3 male law enforcement agents. She couldn't pull the same old thing with them....scream, curse and run off like she does with her parents. She is clearly very comfortable manipulating men. Sure sounds like she has had alot of experience at it too.

Would that there were security tapes to tell that story. I see it much as you do, but the moments when she is looking down, thinking, are probably like those in the latest tapes, vicious and scheming. As if she were contemplating "ohh, I'll tell you what what happened!" And to think that she actually, ACTUALLY THOUGHT, that these two LE detectives would just buy it? Jeezum! "Oh, and here's my office, and I'm important, and they, like, bought me a phone and well like I"m an important person??? And like why like why do you not believe me?"

Good grief. I've been here since July and it still stuns me how self-important this whole family thinks it is. "Ohhh she must have been mixed up with dangerous people...."

No. no no. How about no. If it were'nt so sickening, it would be funny.

And sorry for those who have read thru this and rehased "old news" but I say again, I just heard those tapes again after about six months - and I don't think LE has any worries.

Well, as I just said on another thread, the defense is going to have to decide if they are going to stick with Casey's story about the nanny or not. And of course - which one... the Sawgrass story or the Knock-Me-Down-At-Blanchard-Park-and-Steal-My-Child nanny story. I believe they are dead in the water if they go this route. They cannot present ANY evidence that the nanny exists. And the state will have a field day proving she doesn't exist. That leaves Casey holding a big fat lie and being the last person seen with Caylee. Their only alternative is to come up with some new "fantastical" story.
