ROME - The body of Russel Rebello, the last person unaccounted for after the Costa Concordia luxury liner sank off the Tuscan coast in January 2012, killing 32 people, has been found, his family confirmed Monday.

“I don’t have words to express—just my pain, my tears, my heart pounding harder and my body trembling,” Rebello’s brother Kevin wrote on Facebook, hours after workers made the discover on the eighth deck of the doomed ship. “Thanks to everyone who prayed and believed that one day he would be found.” ...

I think this is a just verdict. The man's an utter coward. Which is not against the law, unless you agree in your job description to be brave and take care of people if they need it. He did. He was a Captain of a ship and broke every rule of good seamanship. People lost their lives as a result. He's lucky to receive a sentence where he'll still be able to have a life, after release.

What was absent from the good news reported today was any indication that he was taken into custody immediately. From what I could see, he was 'free' to go and leave by private car.
