Jailhouse Surveillance Video: Misty Cummings Talks With Dad

  • #81
Hank Sr. is saying that he doesn't have that kind of money because they had to pay Mama's fines and get a place to live.

Did he ever had that kind of money?

What a family!

It's hard for me to say what I would do if I were in the same kind of situation as her father, but I think I would leave her in jail until she clears the Haleigh "thing" and learns that hanging with questionable characters, like RC, will only land her in trouble with the law.

I compare her to Casey Anthony - young, party-lover, with odd boyfriends, maybe drug-user, short on cash, foggy mind.

I think she's the key to Haleigh's disappearance, but like an accomplice she may be, she's afraid to get in trouble for her part in it.

IMO.

Just curious Emma,,,what would you say to her.?????? if you don't mind me asking.......To people who have been following this case since day one,,we remember how cocky MC and RC walked around,,, ciggy in hand...Then how she spoke on the interview at the airport on her way to New York to go on TV,,,saying she was innocent of any wrong doing ,,also knowing anything and this will be proved,,,,,,,she may be young but she is street smart and she is a drugged up gangsta type of girl...I hope people wont be fooled by her crying in jail on these tapes....Remember her gangsta attritude threatening Amber on her MS,,,saying she wanted Ambers child and she wont stop till she gets it,,She is a bully in every since of the word.....To get what she wants....Her threats to RC 's other women,,,,,shameful,,,, I think she most certainly didn't like Haleigh being around, period,,never mind the babysitting.aspect of this case......She needs to pay for her drug dealing and tell the truth about Haleigh,,,,I just hope people are seeing her for what she really is,,,,and being a young innocent little girl,,,she is not,,,IMO

I guess I don't give Miss Misty quite so much credit.

IMO, Misty is a simpleton, a narcissist and a druggie, and void of any sense of self. She's like a mirror. She reflects - changes persona for whoever she's trying to hang with at the time. She can't think for herself, she can't anticipate, she doesn't understand consequences, ergo, has no judgment. She can only read people and reflect back whatever she thinks will keep them attentive to her. She needs attention more than she needs food. She's not even that good at the grift - which should be her genetic advantage. Many folks here who've watched her from the get-go share this assessment.

She's a bully because she hangs with bullys. She's a druggie because she hangs with druggies. She "loves children", is Ron's mule, is Ron's wife because Ron was filling her void and that's what Ron wanted her to be. She's promiscuous because Ron pushed back and she had to fill the void. She gives interviews because newspeople want interviews. She hangs with Donna because Donna showers her with attention. She's entitled to her friend's boyfriends because whatever belongs to her friends is also hers. She does lie detector tests because police like lie detector tests. Hank Sr. says she got in trouble because she's always needing to fit it and be cool. Papa may be a laid-back stoner, but he knows babygirl that well, at least.

IMO, LE would do best to ignore her and let her get good and tired of being ignored. Let her get to the point where she craves attention so much that she approaches them. When she does talk, if she does not have something material to say about the case, LE should abruptly end the interview and send her to her solitary room. Starve her from attention, until she's being the forthcoming person and telling the truth LE is waiting for her to tell.

Another observation: Anyone else notice Misty didn’t ask how parents/nieces/nephews were holding up? Minor interest in who was visiting Tommy. Misty could only focus on what she needed. Telling her parents what the needed to do for her. “I have 49 minutes...” “Call Cobra.” One of Misty’s main concerns was if “Talent” (?) was coming to visit her. (IMO “Talent” was the last object of her reflection, and she’s still fixated on his input/attention as to who she needs to be.) In fact, her tape with Lisa sounds so similar someone else’s first jail tapes … it’s still Groundhog’s day for me.

On the bright side, Misty’s not half as clever as you-know-who is. And, Misty has drug-addled, overwhelmed parents with court dates of their own, who have no support system, resoures, nor serious interest or ability to save her arse – so LE has that going for them at least. I’m hoping LE has figured her psyche out and they will get somewhere with her by ignoring her until she decides she’d rather tell the truth than be left alone in her empty shell of a self.

So, I guess, in the spirit of ignoring her, ... I'm not writing her after all. Maybe I’ll write LP instead.

All just IMO. And, no worries, I'll go back to the one-liners now.

I wonder why both Misty and Tommy have the need to call Timmy almost everyday. If you listen to Hank Sr. he tells Misty Timmy can't afford that but that he will try to get some minutes for the phone. JMO - something just isn't right with Sir Timmy and Misty. These two know something.

I think she needs to talk to Timmy to get money- for the commissary to get the candy and honey buns she wants so badly. He is one of her only possibilities, so she has to talk with him everyday to make sure he sends $$$ as soon as he gets his refund check...

For one thing, it sounds like Timmy is the only one with phone minutes. It was also reported in the past that Misty was closest to Timmy (of the two brothers).

How sad that these people don't even have enough money for phone minutes?!?!

I'm hoping that all this talk of Misty going to Michigan will be enough to revoke her bond. Would this be possible?

But why Michigan?
Isn't Timmy in Mass????
hope revoke bond.flight risk!!!

  • #89
I was thinking the same. Don't they deny bond or whatever for people who are a flight risk?

but LE said that Tammi Smith was a flight risk, and she is out on bail bond!!!

Iirc her granny is in Michigan.

Edit: no, she isn't, she's in Nashville.

As much as I hate to admit it, Hank Croslin Sr. has garnered a little respect in my book. His telling Misty that the Haleigh thing needs to end, that she needs to "get with the truth" and that "lying will only bury her deeper" sounds to me like a father who knows his daughter is involved in the disappearance and him urging her to do the right thing.

Well if what Art is reporting is true, it’s the Haleigh task force that is reviewing and redacting the jail recordings, it would make sense to me as to why many of the audios have not been released. Just checked again and have not found any new ones. Please share anyone if you come across any new jail/visits. I did come across an article by Art.

"Snip" http://www.artharris.com/2010/02/07/inside-the-shocking-misty-croslin-tapes/

Inside the Shocking Misty Croslin Tapes
The Bald Truth has learned law enforcement has redacted significant portions of the Misty Croslin jailhouse tapes to protect crucial information in the felony drug cases they are building against her.

It’s no secret long, thousands of frustrating hours of patient police work have finally landed Misty behind bars where detectives have wanted her all along, behind bars on an unexpected bonanza of drug trafficking charges, eight in all for selling illegal painkillers, and facing as many as 180 years behind bars if convicted.

Unless, of course, she coughs up enough information about Haleigh to allow her attorney, Fields, to make a deal.

For now, she’s talking up a storm to her family in phone calls and visits, all caught on tape.

In Croslin’s case, those tapes have done alot to reveal her alleged role in the drug case, but sources tell me there’s much more detail officers have edited out.

While Sheriff Jeff Hardy tells me he’s keeping the drug cases and the missing child separate, with detectives looking into Haleigh Cummings not even told a drug bust of key figures in their case was coming down until the day before it happened, it’s the Haleigh task force that is reviewing and redacting the jail recordings of the drug defendants.[/B]

As I mentioned on NG, it’s almost painful to hear her admit to this or that from simple questions from her father, Hank, Sr., who tells me he warned her long ago and regrets he ever gave his blessing to allowing her to marry Ronald.

Her sister, Chelsea, and others say it was Cummings who isolated her from them, and corrupted her further.

Hank Sr. said they are all tore up about Haleigh and if she does know anything, want her to tell it.”

Most people didn’t get it; but law enforcement knew they needed The Big One, a criminal case that would stick and that would be serious enough to shift the balance of power… to their hands, give them leverage to use against her and others to tell what they know about Haleigh

Donna Brock, did keep in touch with LE, as she picked Misty and drove her around, initially trying to keep her safe from an angry husband when she was a volunteer for Texas Equusearch, then after she was fired as a friend.

But detectives had to bite their lips as Donna bought her cigarettes, took her shopping, coddled and encouraged her, even convinced her to allow her to make tape recordings about Misty’s version of events, as she told me.

I didn’t know she had such a fetish for taping, and taped most phone calls, including mine.

Then her money apparently began to run short, and a quick run to Virginia to see a dentist gave her a prescription Misty would allegedly wind up dealing because ‘Donna needs the money,” she told an undercover officer.

That’s the deal that went down at the Flying J truck stop. All caught on tape, audio, and video.

More jailhouse tapes are expected to be released Monday, this time of Misty Croslin confidant, Donna Brock. http://www.artharris.com/2010/02/08/geraldo-talks-haleigh-cummings-sunday-on-fox/

The only other states holding collect interstate calls to less than 20 cents per minute are Florida, Missouri, New Hampshire and New York.

I did a quick Google search looks like around 12-15 cents per minute if local.

I guess that could add up over time.

Emma Peel -most excellent

Though I disagree about one thing. I do believe LE should make one visit to Misty with but a simple question and a simple comment.

Comment: Well Misy, we have talked to all your drug buddies, all of your family and all of Ron's family now.

Question: Do you know why we are here ?

If she plays dumb, perhaps a smile and an "enjoy prison" might work well as they walk out.

She is not going to talk about Haleigh w/o her attorney. He is not going to let her talk....period.

If she is involved with the crime....this could go on for years before she says a word.

Once the perp is locked and lawyered up, it is almost hopeless to get them talking, even if they want to, the lawyer doesn't allow it. Unless there is a sweet deal she can't refuse, she will remain sealed about this. It looks like all sweet deals are not offered yet because she is involved and they can't give her anything really good.

At the moment serving one year to her is the same as life, she can't relate to the future. I agree with Emma. Misty is a chatterbox and loves attention and HAS to talk to people. She may slip eventually...let's hope it is sooner rather than later.

I wish Defense Attorneys would be on the victim's side once in a while. Misty isn't paying him, he can let her slip...Let's have some Justice and Love for Haleigh here.

This case has baffled me from the get-go. After having a child missing, this nit-wit family gets involved selling oxy to an undercover cop? Was this narc a cop from the local narcotics office or did the cops get someone the group knew to sell him/her drugs?? The reason I ask this is, allowing a stranger to come into your life especially after having lost a child and sell them drugs is just too stupid to believe.

I have listened carefully to the tapes and have not heard any explanation about who the narc was so I was leaning towards the "it was someone they knew who turned them in" type drug bust. since I cant imagine what kind of fool would let a stranger talk them into selling them a script of oxy's? These have to be the nuttiest folks on the planet and that poor missing child didnt stand a chance to grow up in a good enviroment and be raised properly as she deserved.

I hope if they find her she and her brother are taken in by a good family who is far from the likes of these drug dealers.

I have prayed for that child and hope she is okay. God bless her wherever she is
