Jane Smith was a student at Laurentian University in Sudbury and resided on Charlotte Street. On the 9th of August 1975, Jane Smith was last seen in her apartment just before she retired for bed at 2 a.m., and was found missing from her room that morning at 7:30 am. All her personal belongings were left behind. Jane was 20 years of age at the time of her disappearance. She is described as 5'4, 115 lbs., reddish/brown hair, blue eyes, small round scar between eyebrows and wore contact lenses. She had some gold teeth. She was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt with a zipper with pouch and hood, Wrangler blue jeans, and red Cougar running shoes, and had a large black shoulder bag. Police investigation to date cannot rule out the possibility that Jane has been a victim of foul play due to the duration of time since she went missing.

I’m sitting outside being eaten by mosquitoes and thinking about Jane. This had to be quick and quiet enough not to attract attention, because even in the dark, I know there are about four neighbours doing the same. Nobody wants to miss 5 minutes of summer here.

I do find the attire she was wearing slightly bizarre if she was getting ready for bed. She was wearing both running shoes and a black shoulder bag. From someone who posted earlier there is a possibility she had called her boyfriend to come over (for an unknown reason). Was the clothing description given by him I wonder? It states she left everything behind...well she had a handbag/backpack (I'm unsure exactly what a shoulder bag refers to) so...was it empty? I highly doubt it, so she can't have left everything .

I am curious to know who discovered her missing at 7.30. Either way, it sounds to me like she never slept in that room that night but left with her gentleman caller. Whoever he was I woukd suspect he knows more.

I am related to Jane. I haven’t gotten the full story from my source but I believe, last I talked to them about this, that Jane’s boyfriend was one of the last to make contact/see her. Next time I’m with this person I will ask them about it in more depth. They interviewed the boyfriend personally years ago before he passed. When I obtain info will share.
