I have no contacts for the Red Sox, I have to say, except that I know a woman who is almost 100 now who used to be the secretary at the ball park during WW2. She has great stories of meeting celebrities during the war bond drives....

I missed the RS playing at Wrigley a few years ago... did make the interleague Cubs Yankees series at Wrigley...

WW Eastern gals... watch out baby!

Jury should be in soon....

(Can I post this on the board?) Jurors got a potty break prior to deliberating, so chances are they won't be motivated to end their deliberations for any other reason than the verdict....damn those prosecutors for being so nice!!! Kidding...

I have not seen the RS play live since I was knee high to a grasshopper...actually I went when the bleachers were really the bleachers and would have sworn up and down that Momar Quaddafi was sitting behind me receiving his own fair share of beer showers. I could not take my eyes off of the dude-I was positive.

There were no controlled substances at work in this story either....

I grew up with hook ups... first row on the floor when the other Michael J won his 6th championship... FREE... for three sisters... wondering if that was one of WW's aliases.. and oh man... those tickets were going for 7K that night... and no way was I trading it at the time....

J still has his RS cap and tshirt....

WW...

you got eyes...

and the night has a thousand eyes and a thousand eyes can't help but see.

WE SEE!

Knee high to a grass hopper? wow... my first memory of a ball game was about knee high to my momma pushing me away during the only noise.. 7th inning stretch....

We saw some DBacks games... and my baby sis was there when they won the WS! game 1.. and Mark Grace.....

better than Billy Buck :)

Where exactly was/is WW's home base... just curious... so many names.. where was he born?

Sentencing to follow either now or soon...

  • #33
3.75 which was the max. Let the next phase begin....

  • #34
just waiting...

  • #35
3.75 the max, that's good then. so what's next

  • #36
relatively soon the feds will decide if they will pick up the case. I believe they move pretty quickly if they decide it is a go.

Here is the FBI website regarding Human Trafficking:
http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cid/civilrights/trafficking_victims.htm

Tawni falls nicely into a few areas, as does LDJ and any other victim of WW's I suspect...

Ok 3.75 is good. Any idea how soon we'll know about the Feds?

Jury trial for 3.75-the max... please tell me there was more than just the 3.75 with a jury trial.

No sweetie-this was all that was ever on the table to begin with. They could have pled him to 2.5 years when they picked him up, or they could have the jury trial which gave the judge the ability to extend his time.

Before you freak-this is what we have to consider: He would have had to serve out the rest of his time for a simple parole violation once he was brought back into custody. The only way to get him to serve time based on what he did specifically to Tawni Lee was to put him through the hoop of a jury trial, and to give the judge permission to extend his sentence accordingly. Back Door justice, if you will. Why? Because when he received the original plea deal 9 years ago the County Attorney GUARANTEED to him that if he took the deal (failing to render aid) he would NEVER FACE ANOTHER CHARGE related to Tawni's case. NEVER is a big, heavy legal word.

Remember Double Jeapordy? This would have prevented anyone from vacating the plea deal and trying him for murder, manslaughter or kidnapping one she was identified. He can prove that he was the person who pled in 1999. Therefore, even though he used an alias, the chance that any judge would have ruled a second trial was double jeapordy was pretty assured.

The state's hands were completely bound until the Victim's Advocate attorney came along and found some wiggle room. She decided that aggravators could be used to extend his time; and although it had NEVER been done before, she was right.

Any federal charges will not have the same limitations that the state had, although his attorney will likely state that double jeapordy applies. But she will be wrong, I think...we will see.

On paper, the extra time looks like semantics-but to me, it is time he will serve that will at least now have Tawni's name all over it. Every second that ticks is because of her and the pain she went through. It's something...

I guess I am just at a loss for words to spend tens of thousands for an extra 1.25 years. In all reality, was it worth TENS of thousands- or even 10 thousand for a judge to say, can I give him an additonal 1.25?

What happened to law being set?

Was there at least some kind of precedent this will never happen to another Tawni, or another WW will do more than 2.5-3.75?

This is not directed at you, believe.....

for .75 difference... really what was the wait for?

3 seasons... just three..... Not even enough time for the earth to circle the sun once...

Tawni, at 17 lost what 60 years of HER life ( conservatively)... forget her family, and forget her possibly becoming a mother....

I guess I just don't understand why the judge could not have given WW the 3.75 the first time she heard the case.
