We have friends who live down by Hanford and those closest had lil emergency kits which they had to use once. He said they were essentially plastic and duct tape. LOL

Sounds like the red cross flood kits that were handed out in the floods of 2008. A small container of bleach, a roll of paper towels and 1 pair of latex gloves LOL

An important little tidbit...

Quote:

Four of the five pumps used to administer cooling seawater were believed to have been damaged by the blast at reactor 3.

For reactor #2, this little tidbit.

Despite its earlier attempt to do so, however, water levels sharply fell and the fuel rods were fully exposed for about 140 minutes in the evening as a fire pump to pour cooling seawater into the reactor ran out of fuel and it took time for workers to release steam from the reactor to lower its pressure, the government's nuclear safety agency said.

What do you think, Peli? Are they going to get a handle on them?

We can only hope Quiche, one thing worries me in a meltdown after everything is melted together. I've heard the resulting temperture in the vessel could/would be hot enough to melt steel. I'm in a we'll wait and see mode right now. I sure hope the vessel's don't get compromised.

If they do get compromised, I'm sure a plan B,C,D,F is in place.

CNN is talking about an explosion today - I'm confused. Has there been a THIRD explosion or are they talking about the second explosion - but that was yesterday!?!

  • #995

Because of the conflicting stories and nobody agreeing on anything,it leads me to believe that truelly nobody has a clue as to what is happening. We here at WS are probably more informed!!! That is a scary thought!!!
