Stories breaking, details are sparse.

Japan suspends operations to prevent a stricken nuclear plant from melting down after surge in radiation make it too dangerous for workers at the facility, as rescue teams search for remaining victims of the quake and tsunami.

A question raised is if all the workers have left, who will apply water to the plant. It was reported by Japanese government officials through Fox reporting on Greta, Shep was broadcasting live.

Update on Foxnews in 3 mins.

Anderson and Soledad are in Akita. Says it on upper left side of screen. Have no idea where that is in relation to Sendai, Tokyo or Fukushima.

How can they just walk out and leave? I mean, c'mon - all the water will drain out of all the reactors and the spent fuel pools and then what? They will all "burst"? How much stronger would that be because of so many reactors and so much radioactive fuel?

This just got a little scarier for me.

its about 250km NW of where the plant is.

He said that earlier today.

I'm wondering if they left because they know there is fixing to be a big boom?

TOKYO (AP) -- Japan's top government spokesman says that a surge in radiation means workers are unable to continue even minimal efforts at a stricken nuclear plant.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said Wednesday that work on dousing reactors with water was disrupted when workers were forced to withdraw after radiation levels surged early in the day.

No one knows for sure what's causing the smoke.

:praying: I had a feeling this would happen. So what happens now?? Just pray, I think its badder then bad.

Believed to be coming out of #3 (the Mox fuel reactor).

OK this may be stupid and I know there is a no fly zone and all that, but would it be feasible to use those super scooper water droppin' airplanes like they use on our wild fires out here? Wasn't there talk of helicopters dropping water anyway? These aircraft could fill up in the ocean and keep dumping tons of seawater.

I hear BS about milli vs. microsieverts.

MSNBC Bozell guy says the 50 workers left for 45 minutes until the levels went down and then they went back.

I heard that earlier. The way it was explained is that the rods are kept apart and they realized that the force of the water dropping on top of them might push them together to where they are touching and that could create explosions

That's when they announced they were contemplating dropping boric acid instead - I guess that's like a powder and wouldn't create such force dropping onto the rods and possibly pushing them together.

might be, could be, possibly be......they don't know. They just don't know.
