Another thing is that Jason always seemed to wear the kind of shoes that were slip-ons, so why not take his shoes off when he entered the house so as not to wake anyone.
Even thought there was carpet, it would have only taken a minute to take his shoes off!!

When did JY put the size 10 shoes on??? Did he drive hrs with them on???If so why?? Why not just change before he got to the house?
Why even have the shoes ?? His plan was just to strangle MY, right??

I think it relates to a shoe purchase that Michelle made quite some time prior to the murder. I don't remember all the details, but apparently she bought some shoes at a discount shop and they were too small for Jason. I think the prosecution theory is that even though they were too small, he kept them and wore them. Does anyone remember that?

Jason had a blood blister on his toe when he was photographed. I think the theory is that he wore the shoes and developed the blood blister. I doubt that using the shoes to create a bloody print would result in an injury to his toe.

It's also curious that the prosecutor did not ask Jason how he got that blood blister. There must be a reasonable explanation for the injury for her to avoid asking that question.

I remember this mentioned in earlier threads. I checked up and found this otto, Pages 9 and 10 in relation to shoes and the blisters.

I don't recall Michelle buying Jason shoes that were too small, Otto, but maybe someone else does.

I'll see if I can find the reference. There was a receipt. It may have been in the early search warrants ... might take some time to locate.

Found it ... the size 10 did not match any of the shoes purchased at the discount shoe store.

"At the scene of Michelle Young’s murder, the Sheriff’s Office said that in a sweep of her bedroom, they found a DSW Shoe Warehouse card that belonged to the Youngs and recovered a receipt from the store in December of 2006.

In the warrants related to the case, investigators said that a receipt from on July 4, 2005 showed that the Youngs had purchased four pairs of shoes — a men’s Reebok basketball shoe, a Candies pair of sandals, a Hush Puppies Orbital men’s shoe, and a pair of Adidas running shoes.

At the scene of the crime in the bedroom, in the warrants, detectives said they also found two sets of footprints on a pillow “in what appeared to be blood.”

One of the footprints was clear enough that an imprinted number “10″ in the sole of the shoe could be seen on the pillow said the warrant.

Investigators said in the warrants that a subsequent search revealed that the shoe was a “Franklin” brand athletic type shoe that did not match any of the shoes purchased by the Youngs at the DSW shoe store."

I know that!! I was talking about his regular shoes, although it would make sense for him not to wear any shoes and.....to try and enter the home quietly.....

The size 10 shoes can not be matched up to JY in any way that remotely makes sense.

Thanks, I just don't remember it!

I'm a little confused, so JY wore shoes too small for his feet that created blisters? If he wore them with the intention to leave footprints, why continue to wear them? jmo

Good question. Where did the size 10 shoes come from, and why would Jason bring them to a murder when strangulation was the plan. I don't think the size 10 shoes have been connected to Jason ... unless I missed something. I had thought that they were part of the July 5, 2005 purchase, but they weren't. Did he dig them out of a dumpster with murder in mind?

They were in the murder bag........ seriously, will this case ever be over?
Now that we have the murder conviction thrown out, all these questions all over again!

That old CraigList Dating Ad is bugging me, It sounds so made up and Jason goes to such great lengths to describe each photo, when they are pretty much self-explanatory.

1)Jason did not need to "troll" the internet for dates
2)It would make him look bad, worse than he already did
3) Using CY in the photo would not be a good idea
4)He was being "looked at" in a murder investigation.

Again another thing I would have liked to see BH question him about in her cross

However, I see this as just more evidence of JY being a jerk and not using good judgement. Are you saying you believe someone possibly stole his identity and posted the ad and used his pictures on Craigslist.

I completely forgot all about this, until someone mentioned it here on the thread yesterday......, and I found the original "ad", although not the photo, right here at WS.

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-163240.html.

Several posts have the wording of the ad on that page.

It reads:
" I'm glad there are a few ladies out there like yourself. I work in the greater Greenville area. I"m a pharmaceutical bio-tech sales rep so I'm all over the area. I'm a widowed young professional with a wonderful 4 year old daughter who is the center of my world. If this is a big issue, let me know, b/c we are definitely not the right fit. I would like to have another child at some point, but thats looking too far ahead, I suppose. I hope the pics I sent are acceptable. I don't have any just of me, so you can see my daughter in a couple of them and my mom and my daughter in the snow mobile pick from Montana.. that was in March. The jungle/cave looking pic was from Puerto Rico last November and the other is just a moving van pic from a few months ago. I haven't downloaded the latest trip from Maine/New Hampshire yet that we all went on (mom, daughter and I) at the end of last month. I was going to send one of me posing with George. W. Bush."

Do I think this was legit? I don't know. I am not familiar with CraigsList at all and I don't know how easy or difficult it would be to set up an account and use photos that were available online. (if they were) I do think its strange no one ever challenged the validity or if it was verified that it was indeed Jason.. I also don't remember if it came in at trial but if it was real, why not?
Some of it sounds really strange, the explanation of photos which are pretty self-explanatory in themselves and the fact he would include a photo of CY and mention that he is a widower when he is being looked at in a murder case.
Doesn't sound like Jason at all, so I am going to ask around....

It would be good to know if it is legit or not. I don't know why he says he hasn't any pics of just himself, I mean, how difficult would it be to take a selfie? :aktion1:

It just sounds weird, doesn't it? Back then we hadn't heard or seen much interaction from Jason, so it was hard to tell.
But, I can't see someone going online asking for a relationship, when the one thing Jason Young has never needed help with, was getting a woman!!
And, I can't see someone being so stupid to advertise for love and using a pic of their daughter!!
And, being the prime suspect in a murder case.
I have asked some people that have worked on this case, if they know anything about it.
It's really not that important now, but if it was a setup back then, wow!
JMO, IMO

ETA.........This came from the NC Wanted site at WRAL, no longer available there but still here @ WS at the
link I posted if anyone needs to verify the content of the ad or my reposting it.
