Tell her boss? Write it up? "Boo hoo, a customer yelled at me?" That's not reality.

What rings so true about Gracie is she remembered him because he was abusive. And that's the way things are in customer service....people remember the customers who are vile to them. And though I didn't need her testimony to believe in JYs guilt, Gracie's story has absolute credibility to me, and it was icing on the cake. It exactly fits into the timeline.

Coincidence? Nah. Just another of the many pieces of circumstantial evidence in this case.

Working alone at a convenience store overnight is one of the most dangerous jobs a woman can have......and not only should she had reported it, there should have been a memo issued to other gas stations in the area.

Jason got in her face, that is how she described her encounter with him. That means he was a threat to her,
that is, if, he was ever there.

I believe Gracie was used, a convenience store with no cameras, a cash transaction, and a clerk who had brain damage...... Umm, isn't that just a little too much?

Wouldn't you like just one thing to back it up?

Oh, and the male witness who was supposedly there,he just stood by and watched? He didn't tell Jason to back off.
And, Jason would make a scene and in front of 2 people now?
What if the guy hauled off and hit him and left a bruise on Jason's face or Jason punched back and had a
bruise on his hands or knuckles?

Just what he would need after killing his wife and fleeing in the middle of the night undercover from a murder scene, to draw attention to himself?

Really? How in the world was this ever able to fly?

Did they check CY's blood to see if she was drugged????

Nope, just another one of the PTs made up BS points. I highly doubt she was drugged because she would have peed the bed if she was drugged.

Hey wait, maybe she did pee the bed. They would never know since they didn't collect the bed sheets.

Why would they check the child's blood in the early hours after the murder? They only considered that after processing the crime scene for 2 to 3 weeks. One needs to understand that things don't happen in 2 hours. Investigations should be thorough and methodical. To criticize LE for not subjecting a 2.5 year old child to blood work is just silly, IMO. It doesn't make sense.

Yes, in King NC which only has a population of about 6, 500 residents and she only worked there for a few months. We have no idea what her work detail consisted of other than she was working the graveyard shift. I do know what she didn't do though. She didn't tell another co-worker about her encounter with Jason, she didn't tell her boss, she didn't write it up, she certainly didn't call the police on Jason for getting in her face, and she can't find or remember who she said was there when it happened. And, it is a fact, she changed her description of Jason many times during the course of the investigation.

Only 6,500 residents? This to me enhances her testimony. Let me ask you this. What difference would it have made if she had told another co-worker, her boss, the police or filed an incident report ?( I must admit this one cracks me up. She worked in a freaking gas station in a small town:floorlaugh:)

I am planning to revisit Gracie's testimony tonight when I have some time.

Wasn't that teasing?

"Now the dangers of swallowing diamonds or jewelry. Pointed tips or sharp edges can damage the delicate organs inside the body. It is quite obvious that a larger object is more likely to cause damage. When it comes to crimes where the thief swallows these objects, the processing of recovering the valuables from the body of thief are generally performed under supervision of a medically qualified staff."

You may classify it as teasing. She didn't get her rings back until the next morning. You would have to ask the defendant if he was *teasing*. I know he wasn't teasing when he stripped GC's rings from her hand. IMO, he has a thing about what they represent.

Not one of Jason's better moments whether he really swallowed them or not, but that doesn't make him a murderer in any sense of the word.

Agreed. In and of itself it doesn't make him a murderer.

I'm pretty sure she said he was just teasing in the second trial. A bunch of people were spreading rumors earlier in the case that she had to change her flight to wait for it to pass, but they were wrong.

First I have heard of that. I know she had to wait until the next day.

Yeah, like mooning grandma. He doesn't have an ounce of respect for women. You could see him seething when Becky Holt cross-examined him. He couldn't hide his contempt and disrespect. IMO.

He was very polite. I especially liked his honesty.

This deserves more than a thanks. I didn't need her testimony either. I really wonder if the jurors would have needed it? Ironic that someone like Gracie would be the one to put the icing on the cake. Simple, unsophisticated, no hidden agenda. I loved Gracie. MOO.

Groan. This gives me the impetus to revisit his testimony. I don't want to go there. It's so time consuming! Thanks.

But couldn't even describe him. Must not have left TOO much of an impression on her.

I know, and even the Judge had to help her out.......... :(

Didn't she say he was bald?? LOL!! Hes far from bald ..Oh wait!! Maybe he had a piece of a clown outfit so he made him look bald... Boy that murder bag with all his stuff must have been heavy... Murder weapon, scotch tape, bald thingy and extra shoes...

Oh btw I have a couple friends who are managers of stores & when customers YELL at you & all up in your face YOU are to make a report.... And thats a fact....
I don't believe her for one second....

You are correct, especially when you are working alone in the store. I feel bad for Gracie, I do not think she has had an easy life and then she is the star witness in the states case.

As for the clown outfit, I don't know, but it's starting to sound like Jason was driving a Uhaul truck on the back of his SUV for all his props!!!

I feel bad for Gracie because she is mocked and vilified on this board just because she is simple and unsophisticated.

Jason needs no clown costume nor Uhaul, IMO.

Clowns creep me out.

I was actually surprised after all the rumors about him, that he came across so genuine and humble.
He kept his cool, unlike Ms. Holt who was practically spitting her words at him. I would have loved to had been in the courtroom when the defense called him to the stand, no way did I think that would ever happen.

Didn't the mistress describe it as teasing?

She said JY pretended to swallow it and she was shooting daggers at the prosecutor guy.

BTW, there is a four year age difference between the two of them:seeya:

She seems like a very nice, down to earth, person. She made a mistake by sleeping with him.

Yes, CAS does seem nice....and, she is an adult, and she made a mistake.

Time for your Physiology lesson!!

Digestion: How long does it take?
How long does it take to digest food — from the time you eat it to the time you excrete it?

Digestion time varies between individuals and between men and women. After you eat, it takes about six to eight hours for food to pass through your stomach and small intestine. Food then enters your large intestine (colon) for further digestion, absorption of water and, finally, elimination of undigested food.

In the 1980s, Mayo Clinic researchers measured digestion time in 21 healthy people. Total transit time, from eating to elimination in stool, averaged 53 hours (although that figure is a little overstated, because the markers used by the researchers passed more slowly through the stomach than actual food). The average transit time through just the large intestine (colon) was 40 hours, with significant difference between men and women: 33 hours for men, 47 hours for women.

Two British doctors studied digestion time in children. They fed 35 children juice containing a red marker and asked the children's mothers to note when the stool first turned red. The mean time of transit from mouth to anus for the group was 33 hours (meaning half the children had digestion times slower than this and half had digestion times greater than this).

Sunshine, I just read the link about the cookies and the Brad Cooper trial. Crazy it was Cummings who gave the order not to give the defense the hard drive.
