Did you think Raven was guilty? I did, what a frustrating case that was to follow. All those years waiting for an arrest and they finally get him only to have him plea down. He was lucky that one juror held out.
I feel so bad forJanet's family...His parents are still raising KA, I believe.......:(

I didn't follow that case but from watching the report and his interview, the guy appears to have a serious personality disorder. He was abusive to his second wife to the point she became terrified and resisted his total control. I think it is a classic example of a case of domestic violence.

They do appear to be drying out and are not attached. They also aren't on the counter in one of the photos. Officers would have no reason to move them and then re-shoot the kitchen counter because it then wouldn't be an accurate crime scene photo.

I have never seen polaroids bent like that? They are u/s pics they are bent up, because they have been folded.

ETA: I just zoomed in and had a u/s tech here look at them and she agreed that is what they are.

I don't think we need to start bashing Fiona Childs. She was one of Michelle's best friends. A very intelligent and well spoken woman, she was an Estate Planner and is also an Attorney.

Just saw her blog for the first time! She is lovely and a wonderful best friend.

Raven Abaroa=Evil.
9 years later and I have yet to let that case go. All I can say is when he gets out I hope they keep a close eye on him, probably, the first thing he will do is buy that lone Juror a drink. I don't know how much more evidence they could have had! :(
But, back on topic.

I want to mention the hose in the back yard. Meredith heard it running because the faucet is directly under the kitchen window. To hear it running, it needs to be turned on full force, just as you do when using a sprayer on your hose. The force of the water makes it leak at the faucet AND the hose/sprayer connection. The water running most certainly could have been a big deal as some of you want to downplay.

The lots on this side of Birchlef go up in the front......level out.....then go down in the back. You can see this in the photos. You can see the construction of the deck. The lot has a downward slope.

Water runs downward. The sidewalk was wet as if the hose HAD been running. Much has been made of no puddle, but if land slopes the water runs off. This I know firsthand as our lot slopes and with any water ie: rain, water from hose, etc we always end up with a "pond" in the back of our property.

Another thing I want to mention are Michelle's window treatments. So much has been said about intruders and Shelley's being afraid, etc, etc, etc. IF Michelle was nervous at all about any of this why the bare windows? The only window with blinds on the back of the house was the bay window. Over the sink, french door.....neither of these had any blinds/window tretments of any kind. I think this says something as to whether or not Michelle felt afraid at night.

I had a similar layout in one of my houses. The neighborhood was very similar too. Friends and family who would visit would freak out because there were no window treatments. They were always spooked. I was used to it.

I find it strange too. In one photo with the little toaster oven? there is nothing beside it, in the very next photo, there is a book and then the u/s pics near the little toaster oven.

We don't really know much about what the dog did when she arrived because she testified that she heard him whimpering but that she doesn't recall ever seeing him inside the house. Then we hear her talking to him (911 call) to get him to walk outside with her and then he disappears apparently.

He was an older dog, very calm, rarely barked. A lab mix.

We have two of those! When we're not home, they sit near the front door and look out the windows that flank it and look for our cars. Keeping those windows clean of slobber and nose prints is a never-ending job. But when we're home, they are always in the same room one of us happens to be. Which is why I'm surprised Mr. G wasn't in the same room with MY and CY.

The way MF described Mr. G makes no sense to me and probably never will.

Correct. In Photo 23, they are not there, and in Photo 24 they are. So, they were not from Michelle, they were from the investigators. It is confusing because they did not lay out the photos as if they were just looking at them, because then they would have been placed one on top of each other.
I have looked at the photos, blown the picture up, and there is no way to tell who or what they are.
I can make out the ultra sound photo clearly on the fridge though.

If the hose had been running all nite and morning, there would have been a lot more water, not just contained to one spot like it was. And, it was Shelly who said she was scared and needed Michelle to walk her to her car. That doesn't mean MY was never afraid or didn't hear noises prior to that night. It was also testified they never locked the kitchen door and the garage door opener was broken, so anyone could have entered.

I think they are laid out that way so they can see them all at once since they were documenting the crime scene. If they were not part of the crime scene to begin with, they would not have removed them and then taken another shot of the same counter.

Michelle had an OB appt. the next morning, didn't she?

They had to come up with a theory that matched to Jason so that a Judge would agree to the search warrant. They removed several boards so I believe they also were looking for blood, not just prints. If they'd open their minds a little they would realize the killer intentionally avoided leaving their own bloody DNA throughout the rest of the house. They did that by removing their shoes before they left the room. I think they also took the murder weapon.

Got to disagree with you just on this one! It was about the deck and stain and shoe impressions, and they waited over a year to get the warrant.
I would think if they were looking for blood, they would have done that much much sooner.

Exactly, once they saw and if they were ultra sound photos they knew they were not part of any evidence at the crime scene. I don't think they would lay them out like that when they could have just taken them with them. And, yes, MY had an OB appt. scheduled for that day, if I remember correctly.

Off topic.....my God it is HOT. I'm on Sullivans Island in SC and our temp is 94 with a heat index of 110. HOT< HOT< HOT!!!!! even the water is hot..... lol

Meredith mentioned MY was twisted up so I think her top half facing floor her bottom half twisted slightly up, maybe caught up in bed sheet?
<snipped>
You're saying the intruders came back? Yes, that's what I think too. jmo

So do I , and how unlucky for them that Cindy Beaver was on her way to work.

That's okay! LOL. I think we're saying basically the same thing. How many years did they wait to look for shoes and shirt or get a search warrant to check Michelle's car? They didn't need to remove deck boards to look for just shoe prints on top of the board. I think they were looking for blood/DNA as well.

When someone pointed out the lack of water accumulated by that hose I was thinking hmmm good point...
HOW did I not register it had a sprayer attached?!?

Honestly however the water ran off it really does not make much of a difference, with that spray nozzle attached to the hose the only water coming out of it is going to be "leakage". Even if turned on full force, it is not going to build up much even in a lengthy amount of time.

Thank You Tarheel....for showing me the obvious

But, MF tesitfied she heard the hose running and not just leaking..How could anyone hear a hose make just a leaking noise unless you were almost on top on it?

Sorry but those are not polaroid snaps. They don't print attached together. The camera was the investigators. Isn't that what was said at trial. I don't rememebr anything at trial being mentioned about placing pictures to dry on the counter. They are u/s pics.

Just re-listened to Galloways's testimony. They are US pics.

As I said, they are not visible in one photo and then they are visible in another. He stated this is because they took them down from the refrigerator.
