Jason Young to get new trial #4

You shouldn't make this about race. The only reason I know that Cooper and Young received unfair trials and the cases were poorly investigated is because the trials were streamed. I'm sure there are plenty of minorities who have been subjected to the same thing.

The truth is, there is only so much time to thoroughly research cases and I can't focus on more than a few at a time.

There are cases in the news every day involving minorities. Sadly, we don't learn about them until they are finally exonerated. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/20/n...e-are-to-settle-suit-for-40-million.html?_r=0

I agree, and just posted something similar.
Thanks for taking the time to supply a link...... :)

That isn't very helpful and you know it. We are supposed to supply a link to either testimony
or evidence presented at the trial that would show where the gas receipt was mentioned and that
JY did not get the full amount of gas he paid for.

It was introduced in Gracie's testimony. Look it up.

OT/ Is there a Michael Peterson thread? I need a break from this case until we learn something about Young and Cooper's new trials!!

  • #864
Why is that? There shouldn't be any problem posting links when discussing facts in a case. I have had to go search for links and testimony myself if and when something is challenged.Opinions don't need a link, but if someone is going to post something as fact, then there should be a link. Why is one side obligated to furnish a link more than the other?
Unless, there isn't any? Besides, even the Mods have asked us to supply them.

I am guessing there is no receipt showing a customer buying $20.00 of gas, and only getting $15.00.....

Again. They have the register receipts. I suspect I know what you are trying to infer. MOO.

I understand what Madeleine is pointing out. You have cited links from the Innocence Project but seem to be championing these 2 cases. I have no problem with that. And I LOVE the Innocence Project.I know nothing about the Cooper case. I do know this case and IMO, JY ain't in no way innocent.

Actually the mods have said if you claim something as a fact you need a link to back it up..... Not sure why you guys cant just post a link..Why is it one side has to have links but anti JY dont..Interesting.....
So if theres no link then it didnt happen...

Thank you!!! I had to search through testimony to find exactly where MF talked about the hose and there was a lot , then I linked it, and timestamped it. Not that hard to help another poster out, if it exists.
If not, then I can see the problem.

I am, but it has nothing to do with their race. The cases are local, I was able to watch the entire trial and that was all I needed to feel compelled to speak up about them.

JY was "framed" on that violation in school? Did he actually claim that? LOLOL. Yeah, right.

Jason was/is a momma's boy. Based on the stories told on the stand by his momma and others, I got the impression Jason wasn't given a lot of boundaries, and as the only boy in his family, he seemed to be treated like a prince by the womenfolk.

And here he is, a white male, being made out to be just a nice normal guy who the state was determined to railroad. I wonder why only white males who have been charged/convicted of killing their wives are ones considered railroaded and have a legion of fans? Where is the support for all the minority males charged with killing a spouse or intimate partner? Haven't they too been "railroaded"? What about the women in prison who were convicted of killing their spouses and/or children? Railroaded or not? What an interesting trend.

Throwing the race card, lol. Wow.

Take a look at The Innocence Project:

http://www.innocenceproject.org/Content/DNA_Exonerations_Nationwide.php

Races of the 317 exonerees:

199 African Americans
94 Caucasians
22 Latinos
2 Asian American

As promised earlier today. Cringe worthy. A mere 2 months before MY died. After that he bedded down CS then started with MM. Or did they overlap? All the while declaring his love for MY.

First of all, I cringe when I see things like this because it's so personal and it should have remained private, not a publicly viewed document.

Second, I think it's clear that JY is an open person and needs to get his feelings out. He was simply telling her that he still has memories about their relationship and that he appreciates the time that he had with her and a part of him still loves her but that he wouldn't act on it because they both are married.

This doesn't indicate a capability to murder his wife.

Haven't you ever thought back about past relationships and wondered if things could have been different? Or at least remembered them and treasured the good times that you shared with that person? I think it's perfectly normal and I hate that this is a public letter.

Actually if you go to post # 2 in this thread you will see where Salem talks about links..

If something is being disputed, please link it up. Please do NOT claim anything as a fact unless you link it. If you are not going to link it, then it's just your opinion and recollection of what was said at the previous trials.

Salem

Thanks, and it helps separate rumors from the facts,. as well.

The emails also revealed the accident JY came upon and he shared that with others, as well. I am not interested in JY's love life, or reading about it, the guy was seriously missing a sensitivy chip, thats for sure. I don't care what makes him look bad, or the worse husband ever, I want evidence he killed his wife.
The rest is just filler that the state needs to try and support their case, especially when they have such a glaring weakness like the gas station testimony.

Well let's think about that. I guess that explains why the defendant complained about not getting enough sex to his family, in-laws ( I wonder if he ever broached that with her father? Somehow I doubt it), friends, co-workers , acquaintances. Ya know because he is open and needs to get his feelings out.
Did you cringe when JY spoke about MY coming in and finding him on the john when they were dating. He was so embarrassed but SHE wasn't. Did you think that should have been personal and private? I do. But he had no problems with talking about that on the stand. When his wife was 6 feet under.
You think it was perfectly normal for a married man with a 2 year old and a pregnant wife to reminisce about a past love and remember the good times? Does that mean he had forgotten when he pummeled her for 20 minutes, bruised her shoulders and ribs to strip her engagement ring off her finger? Yeah, good times.
I'm sure you hate that this is part of the record. It's very incriminating. MOO.

UM. Missing a sensitivity chip? That's your assessment? The evidence was presented in trial. That's why he is in prison for life. MOO.

That is clearly not clear to me. (IMO)

No, I see no link between that letter and the murder. No one is denying that he cheated on his wife. It doesn't make him a killer. The evidence just isn't there at all.
