Some of the wild online theories are beginning to sound less wild.

Or they know nothing will get done and calling the police would be useless. Depending on how the watch was stolen, there is a high chance that the police won't be able to help in any realistic way.

but Lucy did contact the police
at least twice!

All along we’ve said that we only have his friends word as to what was actually said in the calls/facetime. Also that it seemed likely that he didn’t want to be spotted walking on the road hence the jumping over the rocks to go off road.

The watch details were shared very early on on various socials, it’s interesting that they appear to be true now.

I would bet his mum knew about the watch from very early on, making her claims that she thought he’d been kidnapped make much more sense now.

I do think his remains will be found one day on the mountains but it wouldn’t be a shock if the police revisit the night/ morning he disappeared and arrests were made either.

not necessarily true IMO
the 'former detective' has provided no evidence

We don’t know what her motives are, if she has been truthful or misled. Or partly been truthful, partly misled.

Indeed, very frustrating. Just keep saying ‘…inconsistencies…’ but don’t actually state a single one.

Speaking to The Telegraph on Wednesday, he said: “My only question is, and this is where you start the investigation from, why did two grown men take a young boy to a valley to a bed and breakfast? I can’t understand that.”

“Why? You need to ask them why and then start from there. Spanish police must know. It is frustrating. It’s a language barrier and you can’t get mad at Spanish police because they don’t like it.”

Mr Slater Snr spoke to The Telegraph after spending two hours searching the natural park in north-west Tenerife where his son vanished. He was joined by his other son, Zak, 24, and Mr Slater’s uncle, who did not want to be named.

Searching at the hottest point of the day, the trio followed a mountain path down the barren valley and looked inside two abandoned shacks, which sit just a few hundred yards from where Mr Slater’s phone was last traced.

Mr Slater Snr, dressed in a black T-shirt and blue shorts, cut his legs and arms as he looked for his son. He said he was doing a “Columbo bit”, referencing the US TV detective.

Pointing to a large mountain peak in the distance, he said: “If someone told me ‘he’s up that hill and you’ll find him’, I’d climb that f---ing hill and find him.

He added: “If I had mountain boots and some ropes I would go for it, but I can’t do it in Adidas Sambas.

“All I’m doing is a Columbo bit myself. I mean, he might be on here, you never know. But as a dad, I don’t want him to be.

“You just don’t disappear. He’s a young boy. He’s fit. He’s fitter than us all put together. He’s played football all his life. He’s fit as a flea. You just don’t disappear.”

so they DID search!
I knew it!

they told him to go back to the rental - not to a stranger's house - why would they try to send him toward danger?

Weakest link?

I wonder if 'Mali' is actually 'Molly' in Lancs accent?
Molly (MDMA) slang.

This is one of them from the Airbnb

And the plot thickens now they all knew one another and AirBnB guy is a convicted drug dealer leopard and spots in all that ..I think this case has all the hallmarks of a need for a criminal investigation tbh both AirBnB guys look dodgy and I'm guessing drugs is why jay went back and they had booked a rental so remote

JMO but one issue with this is why would LL publicly post JS screenshot location on the Tenerife FB group if she knew these two guys were looking for him or if she thought he was in any danger from anyone looking for him
Good point. Anyone looking for Jay would be able to see his location. Perhaps Lucy was giving a heads up to someone OR she didnt think it through properly before posting. Either is possible MOO

Given that she's friends/acquaintances with the convicted drug dealer I'm a little more cautious about believing what she said now. She could also be frightened of saying too much.

This is a very tangled web I reckon.

Quote from that article

"I let the geezer stay at mine because he had nowhere else to go, his friends had all left him"

which doesn't sound very believable when his holiday accomodation was near by, why not drop him there rather then driving 45+ minutes up the mountains

I agree no matter why he went back with them it surely wasn't because he had nowhere to go ?

It's possible that Jay did leave and go off the path because he stole something other than a watch. We know that one of the two older men has a history of selling drugs; could Jay possibly have seen his stash and nicked it/some of it?

why is the michael mosley situation even comparable?! an experienced hiker who misjudged a situation compared to a lazy young lad who couldn’t even be arsed walking down the road for a haircut!

they both got lost in the hot climate and rugged mountains while on holiday

The silence from the Tenerife Three has been deafening for most of this case. LL has all but vanished, Brad gave one interview which I've always thought seemed a bit coerced, and Brandon disappeared immediately and changed his name on social media.

I understand the pressures that young people would be under in a case such as this, particularly with the Facepalmbook crazies. But it still feels strange that they've made barely a peep. I said early on that if LL is not involved in drugs, then it's likely her travel expenses are covered by her potentially wealthy parents. Could it be that the three have been given legal advice to remain silent and out of the public eye? JMO.

If certain things are to be believed, two of those three are already well known in the bars and clubs of Tenerife and Ibiza. The more their faces are out there the more you’ll get random people snitching on them for a few quid from the tabloids.

They do but how would one fit in a precison engineered watch?

idk but I would think someone could make it possible considering technology today

I think Lucy quite possibly was in a blind panic and acted in the moment rather than thinking things through about consequences of posting Jay on the tenerife fb she is young I would gather she wanted the situation to be a bad dream and just get her wayward friend back to the apartment and give him a telling off for having her up the walls

Not to buy cigarettes, nowhere was open that early, for a smoke which we know happened from the blanket photo
There is no proof that it is actually Jay in that photo. Just feet and blanket. It could be anyone ! MOO
