COMMUNITY RALLIES AROUND MISSING 10-YEAR-OLD JAYDEN SPICER. REWARD AT $2,200 AND RISING

AUGUST 12, 2025 STATE NEWS

[…]

“Unfortunately, we’ve not been able to locate a lot of evidence suggesting that he would be close by. So unfortunately, we’re kind of at the same spot we were when we started the search,” Kentucky State Police Trooper Matt Gayheart said. “We must continue hope, but unfortunately, at this point, where we’re at in the investigation, it’s a race against the clock. We’re essentially at kind of our last leg. We need to locate him immediately.”

Reward

A g******* account was activated Monday morning by Jeff Turner, of Jackson, and Jayden’s aunt, Samantha Brunty, to fund a reward for information leading to Jayden’s return. The fund, as of early Tuesday morning, had over $2,200, with Turner donating $500.

“This is absolutely breaking my heart,” Turner told FOX56.com. “We all know there’s so much that we don’t know. I just want this baby found.”

I’m a bit leery of any crowdfunded efforts in this particular case. The said, it does make sense that this aunt is (presumably) involved, especially based on previous inferential statements I think they made.

Surprised LE hasn’t announced a reward given that a criminal case is easier to prosecute with the victim found. You can infer from this last sentence that I agree with the general consensus on this thread.

That said. I do think there’s an outside chance he ran away due to a bad home situation and may have perished this way. Not sure how that would be prosecuted.

"She also explained to me that she went to bed with her husband around nine and then they woke up in the morning, went to the place that her kid was sleeping and they found out the kid was not there," the neighbor said.
Rbm.
Was wondering if the bio mom referred to Jayden as, "the kid" or if it was only the neighbor's description ?

Also I think LE should have asked (if they didn't already ?) to see for themselves, "
...the place..." where her "...kid was sleeping...".
Seems like distancing language, my .02.

Wouldn't you normally say, "In the room he shared with .... went to his room ..... his room that we'd made ready when he came to live with us ....."
Etc.

If DCFS or the aunt had suddenly dropped him off after his grandma passed away; then wouldn't the bio mom and boyfriend have prepared a place for him to sleep ?
Was it in a tent ? Outside ?
Basement ?
An outbuilding or garage ?

Did he have his own room.

Was Jayden just very active or did he need to be watched constantly ?
Imo.

In this day and age, that is very unusual to me.
ITA.
Extremely odd.

People do their online shopping, internet scrolling, talking, texting, and just about everything else, with their phones these days !
Was it possible the bio mom and boyfriend's phones were disconnected due to a missed payment ?
Thinking out loud here.
Omo.

I wonder how CPS got in touch with her.

The most recent Google Street View for Panbowl Branch Road was just last year. The road is quite isolated, but
  • it’s a relatively long road (~ 1 mile) with regularly spaced dwellings on the left side of the road. In other words, not super isolated from each other physically. (Or less isolated than I envisioned)
  • The dwellings were surprisingly nice (or at minimum well maintained). Someone mentioned neither adult having a phone, but I definitely envisioned a more ramshackle situation. If course, family economic situations can be erratic. I’m balancing making an observation without gossiping or poor shaming.

I understand the concerns people have, but the family's wealth (or lack of wealth) really isn't a factor, unless we find out otherwise (for example, if money turns out to be the reason for the disappearance, which I don't think is the case).

Sebastian Rogers went missing from a nice home and neighborhood. Gannon Stauch was reported missing from a suburban neighborhood with houses nearby. Jon Benet Ramsey was murdered in an upscale home. The list goes on, unfortunately.

My hunch about what happened probably matches what everyone is thinking, but it's not based on income or neighborhood, ykwim?

Agree, with a caveat being that a hypothetical (relatively) recent increase in financial hardship is worth mentioning in terms of factors/motives in this case. He could have been malnourished, leading to him running away/something happening to him.

Yes, that would be an ACTION. Not feeding your kid would be neglect.

Again, I share the same predictions as others, I'm sure. Just trying not assume poor = criminal when it should be bad actions = criminal

I am sceptical that both adults in the home and a 10-year-old all went to bed by 9:00 pm.

I am sceptical that two adults didn't have a working phone.

My opinions only.
My apologies if already posted but I have a name.

Felecia Gross Spicer is Mom and she has past child endangerment charges.

do we have a last confirmed sighting of him from anyone but the mother?

I worry with school being out for the summer something could’ve happened to him weeks prior to him being reported missing - this would then make the search area much bigger as he could’ve been disposed (I hate that word!) Of much further afield 😩
This is reminding me of the case of the little boy in Ireland who turned out to have last been seen a full two years before he was reported missing

I wouldn't' be surprised if we get an update or a press release within the hour.

Least surprising result in the world. Now I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
