Jayden Spicer, 10, August 6, 2025 *mother arrested*

Does Kentucky have JK and SK? My granddaughter is just 2 months older than Jayden and is entering grade 6 in Canada.
Also… Jayden’s description is an exact match to my grandson (1 year younger and entering grade 5).

I agree. Normal loving parents call 911 and even may beg them to resusitate a child who is clearly gone. Even if the child OD'd on illegal drugs, I have heard of cases where the parents claimed the child must have found the drugs playing outside.

Hiding their body often means wanting to hide abuse. But let's see. Just speculation.

Also I'd like to know if CPS was required to give Jayden to his biological mother or could have insisted he go elsewhere. I'll speculate for now they had no choice, because if they did...

And that brings us back to the question: WHEN did this happen? Long ago enough to hope evidence is gone from the body and then report as missing?

I think the timing of the missing report was because school was about to start. Even the obit mentions he was getting ready for school. Maybe family members were asking about his back-to-school readiness?? idk.

Jackson, Breathitt County community honoring memory of Jayden Spicer

As families across Jackson mourn his death, students at Jackson City School were asked to wear blue on Wednesday, with Breathitt County Schools also asking students to wear blue on Thursday and Friday to pay tribute to Jayden and honor his memory.

“We also ask that students and staff join us in remembering Jayden during the school’s morning moment of silence, as we reflect on the joy he brought to our lives and the lasting impact he made,” district leaders wrote on social media Wednesday.

District officials said extra support would be there for students and staff over the coming days for anyone processing his passing.

[…]

Community members have come together to plan a candlelit vigil dedicated to Jayden for 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Douthitt Park. Information about the vigil was shared on social media with the hashtag “Justice for Jayden.”

Usually the cutoff is September 1, so turning 11 in October would ordinarily have him going into 5th grade. So he's only one year behind. My guess is that given what sounds like a fairly unstable early childhood and some developmental issues, he was held back to try to give him an easier time in school, starting kindergarten at 6 instead of 5, or else that he went to kindergarten on time but repeated it. MOO.

So if Jayden wasn't waking up the next day... what did she do ?
My .02 is that FG's been in cya mode about many things she has done and the death of this boy is not different.
Did she shrug and put him into that plastic tote he was found in ?
For how long was he in there.
Do they have a garage and/or outbuildings and sheds ?

LE need to take an HRD dog there to see where Jayden's remains may have been kept.
I speculate that he may have passed long before the 911 missing call.

So many freaking disgusting actions taken (imo) by her and maybe someone else as well ?
Is she covering for anyone ?
Etc.
Omo.
BBM - They live in a trailer, and I didn't see any outbuildings in the pics that have been in MSM.
IMO.

Gross previously served one year in jail for endangering the welfare of a minor.

Did this relate to Jayden or another child?

A year!? Sorry I’m just starting to catch up. So much sorrow.

Sadly, I think the "mother" gave him something because he was so "energetic". I won't be surprised if the drug is fentanyl. Just touching a dollar bill used to snort it can cause an overdose. She's probably lying and the poor kid got into something.

Breathitt County is very isolated. As they say there "You have to pipe the sunshine in."

Do we know for a fact the CPS sent him back to his mother? Or did she just take him back in when her grandmother died. (I'm assuming poster upthread is correct saying the great grandmother was maternal).

I don't have a guess what she gave him, but I'm thinking IF she gave him something to sleep, it was only AFTER she lost patience with him for being too active or something like that. I don't think it was part of a calm bedtime, but because she wanted to "shut him up" and not have to pay attention to him. imo

If a sleep aid happened at all. I'd like confirmation on her confession, tbh.

Yea, I’ve been doubting the whole sleep med excuse. It was an ‘easy’ place for her to start the lies, imo.

Jackson City School students honor Jayden Spicer with blue and red tribute

The tribute was organized by freshman Dyllen Strong and her friend Jaylee Tincher, who wanted to remember Spicer through his favorite colors, inspired by his love for Sonic the Hedgehog and Spider-Man.

[…]

The school district helped spread the word through a Facebook post that received more than 600 shares, even though Spicer wasn't a student at Jackson City School.

[…]

For Strong, the community response has provided comfort during this difficult time.

"It's nice knowing you can rely on others for support," Strong said.

Following the success of the student-led initiative, the school system now plans to honor Spicer's legacy annually by wearing blue and red.

Supposedly she gave him some type of sleep meds. She even coached her other kids in to what to say when asked about what happened.

Although it sounds horrid and it IS -- Jayden being placed in a tote will at least ensure better preservation and evidence of what happened ?
I was initially worried he'd be in water where the evidence might have degraded.

It will not be surprising, imo --if charges are upgraded, or if there's a second arrest ?
Because how did the other adult not have any clue ?
Don't think it worked out like that !
A little difficult to conceal the actions of a child dying and then being placed in a container and buried.

Justice is coming, Jayden !
Imo.

Imagine how traumatised those poor kids are.

Im thinking the kids slipped up in their interviews (slipped up in terms of what the mother had told them to say) and told some truth and then this forced the mother to confess when interrogated.

Why don't people who aren't fit to be parents use birth control? I will go to my grave not understanding why. O.K. Edited to add: My comment is very harsh. What I should have posted was why don't they willingly give up these children -- no matter what age the children are -- for adoption? There are so many people "out there" who would love to give a wonderful life to an unwanted and unappreciated child! {I apologize, but my anger got in the way. I am still a strong proponent of birth control.}
Often abusers want to be parents; they just aren’t able to be good ones.

Also, IMO there's nothing immoral, indecent, or irreligious about not conceiving a child. Given what I’ve seen of some supposedly non-profit adoption agencies...taking horrific advantage of young girls, exploiting adoptive parents, funnelling money to shady entities, choosing parents based on money alone...

Obit notice makes no mention at all of any parents or step parents.

Spousal privilege means husband can't be compelled to testify about anything his wife may have told him - right?

MOO while I agree we probably will find out she’s not referring to melatonin gummies, this fentanyl-related myth persists and causes people to refuse to help in emergencies. Luckily, one can’t OD on fentanyl this way. From UC Davis:

Can fentanyl be absorbed through the skin or by touching an item or surface where it is present?

It is a common misconception that fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin, but it is not true for casual exposure. You can't overdose on fentanyl by touching a doorknob or dollar bill. The one case in which fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin is with a special doctor-prescribed fentanyl skin patch, and even then, it takes hours of exposure
