Found Deceased Jenny Hall, 23, described as a keen long distance runner, vehicle located on the B2678 between Eggleston & Stanhope, County Durham, Feb 18 2025.

Edited by me for focus.

Indeed. I would be interested to know if her hoodie and jogging bottoms were found in her car. She would not have been running in her hoodie, IMO.
If it's cold, you wear a lot of clothing running- of course if you get sweaty you could get hypothermic... thus all the "wicking" clothing but temp management is a big thing in running. Was it actually snowing the evening she went missing?

Given the wording says parked, rather than left indicates it was actually parked out of the way.
But this is a small, 2 lane country road and there actually very few places on the south section of this road where it's viable to be "parked" off the road.
Somewhere like this where it's a small layby. There's only a few small layby I can see I think on the map from a quick scan of the road.
However further north towards Stanhope there's seemingly a section where cars do park up, looks more like a potential hiking spot up that way and it's near to Tow Law.

*UPDATE* Just noticed the BBC article posted above which says the search is now focused on Hamsterley Forest which looks to be a good several kilometers away (east) from the road her car was parked on. Possibly they have learned of a particular regular running route she takes.

looks like the police are pictured at this spot in the bbc link. theres a road or path that goes over towards hamsterly etc from there.

Digital intelligence officers have also tried to find Ms Hall via her mobile phone, smart watch and running apps but have so far been unsuccessful
If she went on a run and fell and was injured, I'm assuming that they'd be able to access her phone or smart watch etc. So I am curious why they have been unsuccessful.

Makes me wonder if this was foul play, and someone disabled those items somehow?

When I see headlines like this, I just wonder if there’s not more 2 this, I don’t see why they need to rule anything out at this stage, unless there’s something we don’t know about.

Durham Constabulary's Chief Inspector, Dean Haythornthwaite, has this afternoon made a statement on the scene of the search for missing 23-year-old Jenny Hall from County Durham.

He told the media there is "no reason to suspect third party involvement" as they continue the search for Jenny.

The description of the clothes doesn't suggest someone going for a run to me. Imo an experienced runner wouldnt be wearing a hoodie and jogging bottoms, theyd he wearing more technical clothing

I suspect the police know her state of mind .

Is there a parking area or lay-by near there, where her car might have been?
Theres a large area there where the police have staged vehicles but I don't think its the spot where her red car is shown to be parked.

I'm still looking at street views but whenever the google car drove through the area there were people and sheep traipsing all along that roadway. A couple of guys were waving orange flags at passersby, and people were having picnics etc around the area of the quarry. Not exactly desolate.

Do we know if this is a place she had run previously?

I just have a feeling that she wasn’t the person who parked the car there. I’d like to know more about the condition of the car.

That's a rather sensationally worded headline, what is the definition of abandoned? The car looks perfectly normally parked in a small layby type space.to me

In this context I think it just means left and not returned to. Therefore it's been abandoned.

There's also the chance she just went out for a walk, rather than for a run as has been the assumption since she's been described as a long distance runner.

Police ruling out third party involvement must mean someone close to her must have been informed by her that she's heading out alone.

The DM article suggests police believe she was headed to the Barnard Castle area which is a few miles south of the road her car was located on. Again how could the pluck that out of the air unless she'd informed someone of that intention to head there?

Unless they know that was a place she liked to visit and it is in the vicinity of where he car was found so they've made that assumption?

I don't think this is a case of she was out and she's had some kind of accident. Think she would have been found by now in that case.

Maybe she could have had running gear on under her hoodie and joggers and just worn those until she got there? Also (not saying they are connected) but I noticed another girl has gone missing from Stockton (only about a 30 minute drive away) 3 days ago, such an awful time for their families, praying they are both found.
