Aggressive as in hit someone before they hit you or withdraw.

Witness says she diagnoses and she is a mental health professional. She looked at how Jimmy learned to cope from birth. Looked at the medical records from his birth, delivered C-section, the cord wrapped around his neck and he did have a lack of oxygen to the brain. He had trouble breathing and it seems his lungs took time to develop. Learning Disabilities are common from this start.

Rodgers would get upset about things that happened as a childhood and would pass out, which is quite race, Evans said.

"He got so anxious or so upset that he would pass out," Evans said. "That's not normal."

Lack of oxygen at the fetal stage can cause learning disabilities or problems with emotion regulation, Evans said.

No one should get angry thinking this testimony will lessen his sentence. The defense is still defending.

From birth until his father's death, Jimmy Rodgers heard he was the cause of his mother's mental illness and was the reason she died by suicide, Evans said.

Jimmy's father blamed him for his mother's mental issue and told him he was the reason his mother was ill, Evans said.

His father also blamed Jimmy Rodgers for his mother's death and encouraged him to commit suicide, Evans said.

Dr. Amanda Evans. Retired professor of clinical social work from Florida Gulf Coast University has a lot of background information about the childhood of Jimmy Ray Rodgers. She's a good witness to confirm what the brother said that Jimmy had an extremely tough childhood.

His mother's mental illness and the onset of schizophrenia and her psychotic break left the little boy from birth the victim of his father's blame. The father blamed Jimmy for the C-section, for his mother's illness, and the father blamed Jimmy for her suicide. I wonder if he was so angry at his mother when using that hammer on TS?

These childhood stories really bother me. The system failed him in his early years...sad

Evans role is to understand what happens to people and how they get from point A to point B, she said.

Her role is to explain and not excuse, she said.

Evans did not get the impression that Jimmy Rodgers is a leader, she said.

I got the impression that he wanted friends, Rodgers said.

He was also prescribed an anti-depressant at the time, Evans said.
