Someone here said that JA has told police that her gun was in her purse on a bureau not far from the bathroom. I'd have to try to find which video that might be, but as far as I know that's probably true. But I have no link or anything, so it could be a mistake :)

If someone here said that, I never saw it. That would be BIG NEWS. She said her registration was in her purse when she was describing the ninja version.

Yes, I have. They are tiny -- like fit in the palm of your hand/easily in your clutch bag, tiny. If I hadn't I wouldn't have said it here.

It's tiny . Not much bigger than my hand and I have small hands

I posted pic of mine next a pack of smokes ..it is small Linda is right

From the looks of these photos, that tiny little toy gun was not even needed....

IMO those were done as he crawled down the hallway and she stood at his side and over him

I guess I'm just not following you then. I think you're saying that females can't or don't commit the same kinds of crimes that males do. While I would agree that it's not as common for females to commit kidnapping, rape and murder -- I don't think Jodi is the typical perpetrator, so that makes this case a little different. In most female-on-male murders, you do not see the level of violence we see in this case -- I've never seen it. I think Jodi is a different kind of killer than we're used to, and I do think she is capable of the worst atrocities, including rape and holding Travis hostage.

Why did you put rape in scare quotes? Do you not believe they were rape?

That's quite the opposite of what I'm saying -- which has nothing to do with the intentions or motivations of the female, but rather of the male response. That said, perhaps we can take it up on another occasion because I do believe the topic has worn its welcome on this thread and that focus has been lost. And I mean that sincerely, with the intention of trying to clarify my point and open-mindedly listening to yours maybe in the middle of a weekday afternoon sometime lol :)

IMO though, he was not held hostage. I think he was oblivious until she surprised him in the shower.

That said, I know what a .25 looks like and I don't give a crap; I'm not going to try and outrun a bullet or three. The ONLY thing that would make me disregard my own life like that, is to save my son.

Zuri...sorry to hear of your loss...:(

You are very kind to say so. Sometimes what I read here gets me so upset, I can't sleep. Actually some of the comments have brought me to tears. I was 25 when they brought my 20 year old brother into the ER where I was working as a John Doe. He had sustained a GSW to the head in an attempted robbery. He was a rising junior at Duke, very smart, never in trouble. There was nothing I could do to save him. I tried. I had to call my parents.. We sat through 2 murder trials and a trial in federal court. The a**holes that killed my brother were convicted. We have never been the same.

Murder has affected how I parent. I am afraid of loss all the time. I have 2 cop trained shepherds. I don't own a gun. I have inner rage that has never gone away but sits in a very small space deep inside. I advocate for victims big time on the highest level. What every poster needs to remember is that every victim was a person that somebody loved. Thank you...

oh Travis.......my heart breaks seeing those pics. No I am not offended but it brings the reality back that he just didn't stand a chance against her rage. She is just an evil woman.....and offensive as it is for some...i hope Juan re-shows these pics to the jury. They need to be reminded that he was a real person who lost his life to the sick little jabbermouth that has been spinning her tales of woe. they need to be reminded that THIS is what she is capable of. Travis himself has been lost in the wake of the defense's shenanigans.

I can't keep up with you all, so I thought here was as good a place as any, to place my musical homage to Juan Martinez and hopefully the new theme song for the Juanettes. I only wish it came with musical accompaniment, so you could get the entire affect! With my apologies to Marvin Hamlisch, may I present, inspired by the song "One" from the musical "A Chorus Line":

"Juan"
Juan singular sensation
Every little step he takes.
Juan’s thrilling objection!
Every move that he makes.
Juan’s smile and suddenly nobody else will do;
You know you'll never be lonely with you know who.
One moment in his presence
And you can forget the rest.
For the guy is second best
To none,
Son.
Ooooh! Sigh! Give him your attention.
Do...I...really have to mention?
He's the Juan?

This is excellent!
Do you think it would be inappropriate for the Juanettes to slip into court (dressed fully in Juanette fanclub garb) mid-JA testimony and break out into chorus line kicks and song? I think it would be a welcome distraction. Count me in!

You've seen Juan you've seen them all.

The Juan and only.

A fast Juan.

It takes Juan to know Juan.

HEY don't forget the Juanabe's. We just Juanna have fun too.

We will have to agree to disagree then...lol...because there is no "probably" about it. ANY gun can kill a person and an able bodied guy can die from a gunshot wound from a .25 just as much as a rifle. I can bet that you are probably the only one on this forum that would like to take the chance of fighting someone off with a .25 caliber. But, that's totally okay with me. :floorlaugh:

I'm not, as posted above. But if that cracks you rtfu so be it. Better take that chance than being a dead "hostage" in my shower stabbed 29 times with my throat slit from ear to ear. I'm going for the bitty gun.

Turnadot IMO though, he was not held hostage. I think he was oblivious until she surprised him in the shower.

I think if he did see it coming he moved and thats why the shot hit where it did ...but I really think he was oblivious ...

Yeah, thanks everyone for clearing that up quickly. It was a response post someone had to me theorizing about where she'd say the gun was and why. I could have sworn that's what the poster said, but it's either mistaken info or my paraphrasing was very bad.

Either way, it sounds like something that can be readily ignored. I knew y'all would be on top of things! Pretend I never said it, then :)

Many many moons ago I had a gun pointed at my head, it was an angry boyfriend, jealous over a girl, he came out of nowheres. I remember it well to this day....it was a situation I was in and I was able to talk my way out......I did not even know this guy. Being that Travis knew Jodi, he had a good chance to talk his way out, after all he was a motivational speaker.

I agree with you Karmady, something does not add up to the mustard test. I have a hard time believing pint sized Jodi could carry this out by herself.

Just too much going on with picture taking and holding the gun at the same time, seems like an easy situation to diffuse for any male relatively smart on his feet. I really think she had help, I know many will say she is too narcissistic to accept this blame all by herself BUT I also see her as crazy enough not to want to share the spotlight and want the credit all to herself.
No. It's actually quite true that absent the circumstances I mentioned it PROBABLY won't kill you. And that's why I said an able-bodied guy would try to disarm a smaller woman bearing such a weapon rather than allow himself to be taken "hostage."

In any case, I'm assuming travis didn't know the "muzzle velocity" of a .25 either. So he would have made his decision based on the appearance of the gun. Which probably looked like a small water pistol.

Why would JA bring her grand dad's .25 revolver to Arizona if this was supposed to be an amiable, sex romp booty call layover for her?

Travis was stabbed like 29 times, who owned the knife?

This murder reminds of the Charles Manson clan stabbing actress Sharon Tate about 15-20 times in her stomach where her unborn baby was resting

IMHO If JA brought both the knife & gun, it's clear as day, this was pre meditated murder....not a casual sex booty call...Start talking abuse, self defense or stick a fork in the trial, it's done, over
She wouldn't. I think she intended to kill him and shot him with the gun while he was seated in the shower. That didn't work out, so she stabbed him repeatedly so he couldn't make it out of the master suite and bust her flat out right there. The disagreement I've voiced tonight is with the proposition that he was tied up, duct-taped and held hostage beforehand. I don't know why that's encountered such violent opposition, but my position has always been, and remains, what I just said.

Oh how terrible for you and your family! I am so sorry...

When I first came here and started to post, I was always very surprised at families who had gone through such tragedy and yet were able to come and share here. I am so in awe of those who can do so. I have seen a lot of suffering and it never ceases to amaze me how some can be so strong. I have always thought that I couldn't handle these situations with such grace as I have seen some here handle their tragedies. It might seem strange to hear, but I know I'm not alone in saying that people like you are really such an inspiration to those of us who have not been in your shoes. I'm so glad that you decided to join Websleuths. I know that you will be able to offer a lot to all of us.

What do you have in mind? Maybe she had threatened him in the past?

For me, the slashing tires and insane jealousy would have been enough for me to make a remark like that, although semi-jokingly. And it seems Travis did not take the threat to his safety real seriously either. But I'd like to hear what you think might have been said or done to Travis, beyond the tire slashing.

Travis & Arias supposedly kept the relationship going several times after the tire slashing, tells me he had a few screws loose too

Most guys I know will bail and ditch a woman who slashes his car tires...And cut off all communications...Huge Red Flag

So Travis keeps the sex based relationship going despite JA having this pyscho episode?

Just saying, c'mon, maybe the sex booty calls with a horny nympho were too good to pass up?

Some guys are like that, I'm not trying put Travis in a bad light, but alot of guys will hang/have sex with a crazy wild woman just for the great sex..there's an old saying, The Crazier the woman, the Better the Sex
