Many of us ol' timers remember Sooner#1Fan - who passed a year ago.
Sooner.............remembering you dear. You were a special WS'er.........and know you are in heaven with Caylee and so many others who we are here for..........and on this thread, Travis. Hold them all in your arms and give a :grouphug: from all of us.
We have lost a few WS'ers over the years.......but SoonerFan#1............we remember you this month, as you passed a year ago.....................and are so very special in our memories at this time as we move forward without you.
Blessed be....................
Thank you for posting this. I have never allowed myself to go there in my mind, probably my PTSD talking. I have young adult daughters and thanks to you, I am going to pay for self defense classes for them. You are so correct IMO if there is no other option.
I really do think she gave the stab to the heart very quickly in the fight![]()
My DH had an ex who tried to stab him in the neck but stabbed him in his palm instead. They were fighting over him friending me on FB .. that was it, they broke up (we were just friends at the time) .. anyway she'd been violent for years but he always went back after psycho episodes (unexplainable) .. interesting thing tho, before he dated her she had a few other ex's in our small town who she was similarly psycho with and a lot of them went back time and again also ... crazy sex is the unanimous answer all have given as their reasoning for putting up with her. I'd like to add one of my own: HUGE EGO BOOST FOR THE DUDE. Some chick is so madly in love with you that she will completely lose her mind over you and do all sorts or crazy dramatic things to hold onto you .. that makes a guy with less than super self esteem feel pretty good in a not so healthy way.
BBM: I think that is when she slowly and methodically and strategically stabbed him in the back repeatedly (and they are horrific wounds). BTW, I would never underestimate the damage that a .25 can do, up close and personal.
There's an aspect of the discussion of a man's size vs. the woman's size and what he "should" be able to do or how he should react which really bothers me.
In many contexts I feel like it's furthering the notion that men can't be victimized by women or should take more responsibility/action against the violence.
I don't necessarily think that most of this is intentional but instead is part of our societal mindset and we have to work to fight this otherwise we're going to continue expecting males to "overcome" violent acts perpetrated against them, which is unfair and absurd. kwim?
No one is going to bite?
So really it's like a four phase attack ..
Is that how most of you guys read it? Anyway it's hardly a fight of self defence is it .. it's clearly someone being taken by surprise and trying to simply get away and being overwhelmed. Again if this was male on female violence there'd be no discussion of self defence.
- the initial attack in the shower with the stab wounds to chest
- the attack over the sink with stab wounds in back
- the scramble up the hallway and slashing his throat at the end of it
- and finally she shoots him in the head after dragging him back to the bathroom

OK, one more then to bed. Oh Jodi you're gonna get a Juan way ticket to hell.
I feel like when I try to interpret Travis in that photo, that it's like reading tea leaves. I'm seeing fear, but I know what happened moments after it was taken, so I don't think I'm being objective. But I also see anger if I'm looking for it. So, hence the tea leaves...I think I've seen this mentioned before but am curious what everyone else's opinions are. That (almost last) picture of Travis alive where he's looking straight at the camera...
My mom kept saying she thinks he looks furious, but my brother and I disagree. I think his eyes look super intense, but look at his mouth... I think he looks like he's trying not to cry or something. That picture gets to me every time I see it.
Hope that Helps - usually used as the equivalent of "bless your heart" lol

Thanks for that story MRS NORRIS -- Your local story about the crazy "ho" is so true...The old saying goes like, The Crazier the Woman, the Better the Sex...and also why the old saying Women Love the Bad Boys, women will become crazy nymphos for the Bad Boys
Where I live "bless her/your heart" is usually said right after a person has said something bad about another behind that person's back. May be used sincerely, depends on situation and intonation. LOL!
