I don't think Cancun had anything to do with it either. I think it all came to a head around May 28 when Jodi staged the gun theft -- I think she had been considering it even before that when she made her plans to visit Ryan Burns. What happened on May 28 to drive Jodi to making a final commitment to murder Travis? Well, that was the day that Lisa got in touch with Travis again after not talking to him for a couple of months. Likely Jodi knew exactly who Travis was talking to and when -- no doubt she had access to his online phone records. May 28 -- three days before she rented the car and started her trip.

It was also around this same time that Travis found out Jodi was breaking into his Facebook account, and he told her to stay out of his life for good. How did he find out she hacked his Facebook? One possibility -- when she found out Travis had been talking to Lisa again on May 28, she logged on his Facebook and read his messages to find out what he and Lisa had been talking about, and then called Travis and confronted him about whatever she found. Just like she did with Bobby, and just like she had done with Travis when she had snooped on his text messages in the past.

I think Travis made it clear once and for all that it was over and there was no going back. Realizing she was never going to get Travis back, Jodi decided to kill him -- and at that point, I don't think there was a thing Travis could have said or done to change the outcome of what happened.

I totally agree! I think Cancun was only another spark on top of the flames she already had burning!

Oh. Well, I misunderstood how they were determined to be forged then. This doesn't sit well with me! :banghead:

I believe the State's expert and the defense expert do not agree 100%. The State expert feels it's not his writing but because it's not an original they can't determine with 100% accuracy. And I think that is the issue in keeping it out. The letter, like the boy's underwear did not turn up during a search of Jodi's home. She kept everything, including receipts of her trip from gas stations and Walmart but not letters in the home were ever found. Her Mom tried to sell them to the Enquirer but they will not publish them until after the trial. I wonder why the mother was never charged with interferring? jmo

Has he specifically said she told him she was going to Mesa or did he insert that after finding out she had been there? It makes no sense she would do everything possible to hide the fact she was going there and in the process tell someone where she was going.

MOO

A guy called into Dr. Drew on one of the shows and said she borrowed money from him. He realized later that it was for THAT trip. IIRC he said that she was on her laptop all frantic and said that she was going through an ugly breakup. She told him the guy was seeing other women and she needed to get there ASAP. I don't think he said she mentioned Mesa. I could be remembering it a little fuzzy, but I remember thinking it was odd that he wouldn't have been asked to be a witness.

It's coming back to me now. So she had a retrial on her penalty phase only. I'm watching the 48 Hours episode now.

I cannot imagine the amount of rage that goes into stabbing anyone 193 times!

I work with a woman who went to high school with him and hung out with him & Susan a few times after they were married. She said Susan was always jealous and going psycho over something. Jeff went to a few strip clubs in the months before he died and many of his friends thought that is when Susan started plotting...and btw, how sick was she to bury him in the backyard!?!?!?!? ICK!

His "evidence" was based on the claims of a hand writing "expert" -- a pseudo-science with a success rate no better than that of a lie detector test.

That would apply equally to both sides' experts. Either you can tell whose handwriting it is, or you can't

Has anyone else seen the comparisons being made between the fingers in the penile photo and the fingers of Jodi's ex-boyfriend? The fingers in the photo match his perfectly. The fingers do not look like the comparison photos of Travis' fingers.

Wow. That is impressive that you picked this up. I did not think the fingers were the same. You just proved it IMHO.

BBM

I'm not surprised to hear this at all. I've kind of suspected as much.

Wonder if the "nice" letter that came with the Spidey Underoos was a printer 'copy' too...

That makes me feel a little better about it. Plus... who gets a letter from someone and makes a copy of it? Makes a copy and then gets rid of the original? That alone makes them seem shady to me. I didn't know one of the experts said it probably was his handwriting though. That bothers me.

Thank you for elaborating. I didn't recall the details although I remember him being on Dr. Drew.

Interesting isn't it that they both started out being media correspondents many years ago along with Cathrine Crier, and Diane Diamond. Beth is more soft spoken when she speaks about what she saw or heard than Nancy Grace. Two different people two different styles.

I tuned out Nancy quite a while ago. I've always liked Beth.

They have two very different jobs with their HLN employers. What is interesting to me, is the new softer Nancy on her Friday night shows. I guess that the employers and producers are seeing that her abrasive style turns folks off sor some demographics. The younger folks like the yelling/screaming Nancy, but IMHO the demographics on these threads here are older folks like me who prefer her Friday NG mystery show which does recaps and she is soft spoken. I know As A Matter Of Fact.........that those on HLN have been asked to go for the younger crowds. For their shows. Therefore the spitting by both Nancy and Vinnie lol! It's a younger thing.

Gone are the days of what some of us perceive moo are journalists who just report on the facts.

Beth is closest to that these days.

Durn.....what was that show with Jack Webb?...........where he said "just the facts m'am". lol, I am dating myself!

As always........ :moo: :moo: :moo:

Hi,
Since you started after this was already discussed, I would be interested in hearing your theory of the case. I love hearing new theories.

Lol probably! I don't believe those were even in there! I think that was her way of hinting towards the accusation she was going to make later.

I remember watching this on Dateline, 48 HRs, etc a couple of times (it was updated when she went to trial again). Isn't this the case where the prosecutor brought in a bed and imitated stabbing it *192* times (or if this isn't the case, it was the number in that trial)?

Yes and that prosecutor is awesome!!! She's won 90 something % of her cases! If she worked with JM they could call themselves the DYNAMIC DUO ;)

Karmady - about the conversation we were having yesterday. Go watch the 48 Hours episode about Susan Wright.

This woman lured her husband with sex, tied up her husband, binding his wrists and ankles to the bed; tortured him, and ultimately stabbed him 193 times (obviously killing him). She used two different knives -- her stabbing was interrupted by their toddler son walking in; she took the child back to bed, went to the kitchen to retrieve a second knife and resumed stabbing him.

This is a petite woman, and her husband was a large able-bodied man. After she bound him and tortured him and stabbed him 193 times, she dragged him down a flight of stairs and buried him in the backyard - she then applied for a restraining order against him to cover her tracks. Her husband was found five days later.

I think that's a pretty good example of a female carrying out a brutal attack against an able bodied male, holding him "hostage" for some time and torturing him and killing him.

The prosecutor was Kelly Siegler, who's a legend around these parts, and she's even more aggressive than Martinez. She was relentless when she cross-examined Wright, and it was effective.

Totally O/T here, but I need you guys and your prayers. Last night my neighbor, my friend, my tenant of five years was found dead in his home. His 17 yr. son found him dead. Sebastian was only 49 yrs. old. There was no foul play.

All of us that live here on the river are in total shock.

I guess this only ties into the murder of TA by the fact that so many people love and respect others, and would never, ever think of doing anything to harm another human being.

Your prayers for Sebastian and his son Andrew, please. <3

Times like this.........I really miss ACandyRose!!!!!!!!

For those that are new to forums, ACandyRose was someone who other sites and sleuthers linked to as she was one who focused on her site for just doing organization of timelines and evidence for others to reference. A repository. One of the last ones she did was Caylee Anthony.........and then one more I believe.

I do know why she dropped out.......but another matter.........but.......as I believe she is a member here..........and for others that benefited you may want to consider ........

*ATL goes to member list and old messages to check in on ACandyRose and wish her good health*

do you have a link for the 5/28 re-contact with lisa via social media? Not doubting you. Think you may have an excellent point if that happened.

It's no longer available, but it was on Lisa's blog I believe. She gave the date that she contacted Travis, and it happened to be the same date Jodi staged the gun theft. I commented on it at the time -- I can try to find my post and see exactly what I was responding to.

I agree. I think she really started letting her sick thoughts out of the bag on May 10th in her blog. http://jodiarias.blogspot.com/

A little over a week later TA writes a blog about dating and hoping not to date an axe murderer. About 10 days after that the gun is stolen, TA doesn't visit as scheduled and she puts her plan into motion...

LE uses both so i don't think it's pseudo-science imo. They are tools that can be used, even if they can't always be used in court. If HE were that unreliable they would never be used by LE
