When my 9 year old daughter passed away almost 2 years ago, the doctors gave her a large dose of morphine....by that time she had been in the PICU for almost 3 months.. They were pulling blood out of her ET tube. My husband and I called a meeting with the doctors and asked if she was ever going to able to live off of the machines (dialysis, over 15 medicine pumps etc.) He said no. When I asked what happened next, he told me that we could wait for her to die, or they could give her morphine and make her passing peaceful. Although it was the hardest decision we have made, and at the time it felt like we essentially took her life, it was also the best for her. She was a heart transplant patient and had lived a glorious life, but still the thought of waking up and her not being there is hard. I am so very thankful that she was not in pain anymore and passed peacefully instead of her family having to watch her suffer through the pain of death...

My thoughts are with all of those here who have lost someone. We may have lost them due to different circumstances, but the pain of losing them is still very much the same.

my prayers are with you....

I just started listening to Jodi's testimony, where she resumed right after the audio tape was played in court. Her answers to Nurmi's first couple of questions are completely convoluted and disjointed. She is simply babbling -- lost and possibly feeling defeated.

Nurmi asked her 1) how did you wind up having this type of phone conversation. She was going back and forth between "we were online" and "then we got on the phone." It's impossible to follow all her fuzzy line blurring.

Nurmi simply asked her 2) how she wound up recording the conversation. She went to China and back talking about hot chocolate spilling in the car's dream cup holder and her old phone soaked in hot chocolate all night long and lalalala and I hit the wrong button to record the other time and lalalala ... What a very strange, long-winded, lost, fumbling answer.

Both Nurmi & Jodi are falling apart: he's dropping papers and she's rambling nonsensically and waaay out of context. Having to play that entire phone tape has thrown them off their clever little one-two game. The phone tape is like the curtain being pulled back to reveal the puppet-master and his strings.

It's a CLEAR reminder to the jury that this girl makes up elaborate Ninja-level whoppers on the fly. Yesterday with that Spidy underwear revelation, the one or two jurors who might have felt sympathy for Jodi slipped out of her grasp.

The biblical story of Esther is she was a Jewish woman who saved her people when they faced annihilation.

The Mormon book of Ether - The Book of Ether is one of the books that make up the Book of Mormon. The Book of Ether tells of an ancient people (the Jaredites), descendants of Jared and his companions who were led by God to the Americas shortly after the confusion of tongues and the destruction of the Tower of Babel.[1] The title refers to Ether, a Jaredite prophet who lived at the end of the time period covered by the book

, that she refrained from saving her nation until her own life was threatened, and that she carries out bloodthirsty vengeance. [12]

I could be wrong on the name, but I could swear thats what I heard. And if thats not her - WHO is Ester? Someone Jodi made up?

I don't think the question is who but WHAT. A few days ago, someone here posted that they thought the ester was probably something like Ester-C, a common ingredient in body lotions and hand creams. It's oily, from what I understand, so it could be an ingredient also found in personal lubrication products. Don't know if it's in Astroglide, but I do have some lotions here at home that contain this Ester. Astroglide with ester, maybe? I don't think it was meant to be Astroglide with Esther (girl's name).

In light of yesterday's recorded phone conversation, what surprised you? How did what you heard bolster or weaken some of your pet theories about the case. (This sort of sounds like an assignment, lol. Websleuths 101 is now in session!

For me, hearing Jodi and Travis talk about how braids were "hot" and part of their sex games. I was convinced she braided her hair to keep it from getting all over his place during the murder.

Of course...she could have braided her hair so when she arrived the braids would put him in the mood and soften him up.

arias' man-friend gives message to us, the public, from arias :puke:

I'm sorry if this seems particularly harsh or unwarranted but it seems to me this man-friend is desperate for someone to love him and Jodi is the perfect person - he probably already knows she isn't going to get out of jail...ever...so she's a safe significant other. He claims only to be a friend but I'd be willing to bet it's more. MOO

Have to think this man is: dumber than dirt OR an enabling sicko OR counting on the time he as spent with the defendant making him rich and famous one day.

Whatever the case, loved the smack- down he took by Travis's friend last night
on JVM, and haven't failed to notice that he's the only person out there speaking up for the defendant. Personally, I'll continue to choose the mute button when he does so.

Since I didn't catch the end of the day yesterday, I am listening right now, and just happened to hear this again.

Jodi clearly refrenced a woman, named Ester/Esther. JA says 'SHE brought it over'

It's at the 51:45 mark, where they start talking about KY.

ester-c is a type of vitamin c....it isn't used in lube. Way too many esters in this world now lol

I'm moving more and more toward a post by Minor, in his being the 'victim' that we see in so many of the cases that are gender reversed.

Victim is made to shower, at gun point, after sex (or, rape).

BTW, I wanted to bring up the two photos of Travis on the bed, nude, with the KY. I know that it was brought up about Juan pointing to the TV and wondering what that was all about. I think I figured it out. (Since the audio was off.)

I think Juan was not actually pointing out the television, he was pointing to where Travis's hand may have traveled.

Take a look at the photos again. The first is of Travis asleep (at least his eyes are closed) and relaxed. The KY bottle is next to him, with the blue lid pointing towards the southeast.

The next photo is of him and his hand up, what looks like a peace sign. Only, I believe it is the photo of his hand in motion. The KY bottle is then next to him, like he picked it up and sort of 'tossed it' to the side. Take a look (don't know how to post the photos) at the photo. Everything seems to be in focus, except for the hand and the ky bottle (like they were in motion when the camera took the photo). Also, notice the bottle is now lying with the blue cap facing in the northeast direction - like it had just been tossed there.

Perhaps Juan was pointing this out (he is so smart) and perhaps it was to show that Travis wasn't necessarily a willing participant. (like, he opened his eyes, turned and say the bottle and her with the camera and tossed the bottle to the side, like "are you serious"?).

Yep, Minor's previous post about the genders being reversed is making more and more sense. We naturally believe that he was willing. What if he wasn't? What if she did have him at gun point the entire day?

Wow, great observation and very interesting, I hadn't noticed that. The only problem I have with her having the gun on him the entire time, would be the photos of her during which time she could not have held a gun on him. Maybe it was after that time though when things changed. If I'm correct, werent' the photos of her before his?

Also, I am a little surprised that there were no photos of them having sex, if they had sex that is.
