If I were to guess, I'm afraid the actual murder "story" is going to take as long as all this other testimony put together. Or I could be wrong and they may try to gloss over it quickly and hope the foundation they laid will carry them. What do you guys think?

Your comments about the “staged sex phone call” interested me. You suggest that JA motive for surreptitiously recording this call was to obtain “blackmail” material on TA. JA would “punish” TA by threatening to forward the call to his other girlfriends. Such a call would be explosive and in the “wrong” hands the recording would most probably immediately torpedo any headway TA could make with other women. JA could also threaten to forward the recording to his Bishop which would put his standing within the Mormon Church in peril. Thus, the “recorded sex call” would be a very effective weapon against TA. Indeed she could use it to gain or “regain” control over TA. This makes complete sense and is very plausible.

I originally thought that the recorded call was part of the premeditation phase to the murder. The sex call would show police authorities how utterly intimate JA and TA were and that the relationship was on “firm grounds”. The recording would militate against “mens rea”

Your original thought is disturbing and very plausible. Never thought of it. It's consistent with her extreme attention to detail when planning out the homicide.

No #arias trial today. The judge in the case is sick. That means the next day of testimony will be Tuesday. Next week should be interesting!

awww geesh, I cannot believe how long this trial is taking! Now we have to wait for Tuesday, and I'm sure the defense will try to drag it out until Thursday!!!!

I tend to agree with her "thinking" and feeling, as you described in the last post, and this above. I do believe there was, indeed, a "wrong answer, Travis" moment.

But I get stuck on the "she didn't go to kill him" when I think about all the actions and her behavior to get to Mesa and basically not leave a trail: had to stop and borrow gas cans from a former BF; seemed frantic and intent on going there; didn't leave a receipt trail in AZ; her cell phone was conveniently "off" on her driving into AZ and while in AZ (wasn't it off for about 20 hours or so?); rental car...with the plates upside down; she's supposed to be in UT to see a potential new fling, Ryan...but she never calls at any point at this time to state she's been delayed and won't get there when he's expecting her?, etc.

She pre-planned so many details. Why?

With all the premeditation I believe Jodi intended on killing Travis without a doubt. I think she planned on killing him earlier than she was able to because (if I remember right) she had called her next target, Ryan, and told him she would be arriving at his place a full day before she actually did. She wanted Travis out of the picture so he couldn't alert her new target/s about her real character. IMO Travis had to die so that Jodi could latch on to the next Mormon man.

I've always thought the glass was half full instead of half empty, so I think no court today will give the jury more time to think about Jodi and all her lies.

So did I hear correctly that Jodi deleted Travis's text to her and only has her text to him?

If so, why am I not surprised.

I cant imagine they planned to finish today..much less get to the murder. We will probably be sitting here next week at this time still waiting for them to get to the murder.

I do hope canceling court today will put the defense at a disadvantage in some way..

Also "having" Travis's password to his gmail account....she could have easily wrote emails back and forth to herself. :moo: (of course)

Juan insisted that she say the date and time before each of his mean/sexual texts. I think maybe Jaun wants to ask her where SHE was when these were sent. Maybe he is setting it up to ask her if she commandeered his phone to send them to herself so other girls would see them in his sent messages on his phone. I am having a hard time believing that a guy who would ask for a "picture of her butt" is going to send that huge sexual fabtasy text over text message.

Maybe he sent it, maybe she sent it to herself. It would be goodfor impeachment, but STILL DOESN'T MATTER! You still can't justify this slaughter.
