So basically the jury discussions will boil to one thing, right?
If Jodi Arias killed Travis in self-defense then why the almost 30 stab wounds? And how did she have the knife and gun with her so conveniently? That is all they need to ask themselves. That's it.
I hope that for the seemingly never-ending torture we're being subjected to by the defense that the jury will have a verdict within a few hours.

IIRC, they never found the knife and gun. So it's speculation that she's the one who had them.
So, I'm rewatching some testimony, JA's testimony just after the phone call tape was played and here is the testimony:
Begins with talking about TA grabbing JA's rear end in public when TA perceived that other men may be showing an interest in her....
Nurmi: And the t-shirt he gave you, that was for the times when he wasn't around, is that what your belief was? (Juan objects in the middle, judge overrules)
JA:No, it was a joke (my note...now it is a joke, previously abusive) he wanted me to wear it in public in Huntington Beach, he wanted me to wear it into the lobby and there were other associates there but I refused, it was embarrassing so I just wore it kind of as pajamas.
BBM
So, she had enough backbone to refuse to follow TA's command to wear this t-shirt in public but didn't have enough backbone to refuse all of the 'rape' type incidents she describes and in any other area of their relationship. A good cross question with this statement would be "Did Travis beat you for not wearing the t-shirt in Huntington Beach?" and "Did Travis yell at you for not wearing the t-shirt in Huntington Beach?" "Did Travis threaten to kill you because you betrayed his command when you didn't wear the t-shirt in Huntington Beach?" If the answer to any of those question is "yes" then ask "Why did you not testify to this on direct when you've consistently testified to every other act of abuse by Travis?"
Or...something like that...of course I don't know what kinds of questions are objectionable but I'm quite confident that the Juan would be able to word those types of questions properly.
Her lies are really getting under my skin and her inconsistencies are piling up. This may be my perception but it almost seems as if Juan has stopped taking notes, I wonder if he's working around the clock with the transcripts after court recesses for the evening.
I also wonder if he checks this amazing website for things he may not have caught on to or didn't think of in the same way...just to get a different perspective.
Things that make you go hmmmmmm.....
Good morning everyone!![]()

Her answers are objectionable, but I don't mean in the legal sense.
Good Morning rose22.
I would imagine at first the jury will also be looking into if she truly was an "abused, battered woman" or whether she was a willing particpant in their sexcapades. And asking WHY, if she had no other ties to him besides sex, ie: she was not living with him, was not his domestic partner, was not dependent on him financially, did not have any children with him, and WHY if she lived miles and miles and miles away from him did she travel such distances to be with him???
And they should come to the conclusion that she was a willing participant and was a woman scorned and she went to his house, armed, after planning (pre-meditating) to kill him.
Ok, I have no experience with DV, thank God, so I may be wrong about this. As I understand it in typical DV cases, the person doing the DV uses fear and violence to control the victim. If the victim tries to get away then the abuse becomes stronger.
To my knowledge TA never went to her after she moved and she only went to hm. The women who've talked about their DV experiences here have never gone back once they've made a clean break to another city. Also, the abuser follows them and not the other way around. I know nothing is ever the same way all the time, but it seems to me that if it was DV that he would have been chasing her to California. JMO
Good morning all.
Coming out of a 3-year lurkdom to offer a possible new theory for everyone to chew on. Is it possible that some/all of the salacious emails FROM Travis TO Jody were in fact sent by Jody to herself? Im not very technologically astute, but Im pretty sure this could be done. She has said that she and Travis exchanged passwords, so wouldnt it be possible for her to have a second computer/location to send these from under the ruse that theyre coming from Travis? Much of the sentence structure, grammar, etc., sounds very much like Jodis writing to me. She definitely seemed to have a plan in place when she drove to Mesa either to convince him not to go to Cancun or, failing that, kill him so that no other woman could ever have him. I know her original story was that she wasnt even there when Travis was killed (Plan A), which morphed into the Ninja attack (Plan B), and this could have been her Plan C, to smear the victim.
I assume this avenue has been thoroughly investigated forensically, but ya never know. And perhaps its already been discussed at length here on Websleuths, but this scenario has been gnawing at me for the past couple of days.
:welcome:
I seem to recall something about JA using library computers some times. I may be wrong.
Welcome to Websleuths, Coyote, and good luck on finally catching that road runner. :giggle:
Good morning dear friend! I was up all night coughing,(getting over the flu). The rest of the night, I spent dreaming of chasing Dan with Hellmans! :floorlaugh: Many naps in my future today!
OMG!!
SEARCY: OK. Well, when this all first, when -- well, here is basically this. I said help or hurt. Here is the hurt part. When the night Travis died, I got a call from Jodi at 3:30 a.m. in the morning, crying hysterically that Travis was dead. When this happened, I asked her what happened, how she was, where she was.
Top bolding by me.
