If she stabbed him in the heart and cut his throat because she realized he is not dead why wouldn't she just shoot him in the head again to kill him. She was trying to make it look like two killers two weapons.
Sounds like he could have fought back after the initial temporary loss of consciousness.
Shoot first to make sure he doesn't have the upper hand or stab because you are a psycho killer that wants to make him suffer.

Thanks! Then delete "dad" and insert "grandad".

Of course, who knows if he really even said that. I did see some posts last night that calling each other gay or pedophiles was a sort of "humor" between TA and his friends, so maybe he did say that, thinking he was being funny?

It just sounds really middle school to me so I sort of doubt it happened.

It sounded ridiculous; something like a Saturday Night Live skit.

I, too, think that Jodi was frequently quitting or getting fired from all these supposed jobs that she held. With all of the driving she did hither and yon, trips, PPL conventions, weekend sexcapades, frequent moves, etc., I think it's safe to say that Jodi was most likely an irresponsible, unreliable employee who took advantage of her employers to get more time off than she deserved, work the shifts that she chose, etc. Like everything else in Jodi's world, she worked when she wanted to work, on her terms, and didn't keep a job if she didn't get her own way, or the job interfered with the other things going on in her life. :moo:

When she went back to the library to check Bobby's (I think it was Bobby) emails by hitting the back browser a zillion times she called in sick to work. When she wanted to confront Bianca she left work early. Clearly boys were more important than any job!!

If she shot last, she would have to get inside the shower, climb over him and shoot him in the head. He was facing the opposite way by then

:moo::moo:
If the shot came last she did it before stuffing him in the shower.
If that was the case, I believe, it was because while moving the body
it made an after-death sound and she wanted to make sure he was dead. MOO

I go back and forth about the sequence of the gunshot leaning more towards last. :)

It was not merely the frontal lobe that was affected. The whole brain must have suffered damage from the shock and kinetic energy of the bullet -- disrupting the electrical signals of the brain to a considerable degree and rendering him unconscious.

The ME was 100% sure that the bullet passed through the brain. If was inferred from the hole in the skull. Impossible not to have done so.

I am board certified neuroradiologist and have examined hundreds of gunshot wounds to the head and neck, mainly by CT scans. Cranial MRIs are generally not done in acute GSW to the head because of acuity and artifact generated by metal. Embedded metal in a brain would move precipitously in 1.5 T magnetic field.
The trajectory of the bullet was downward and slightly obklique from TA right to left. The bullet penetrated the right frontal bone, just above right brow, entered the anterior cranial fossa, and “probably” grazed or penetrated some the anterior right frontal lobe white matter. The bullet then exited out of the anterior cranial fossa somewhere to the left of midline – ie planum sphenoidale or left orbital roof then entered TA left infratemporal fossa.
There is also possibility that the fragment did not proceed in a straight direct A to B course. Course depends on muzzle velocity, kinetic energy of a 25 caliber projectile, bullet fragment spin and disintegration, bullet fragment interaction between the inner and outer table of skull. There may also have been some ricochet phenomenon operative although Horn’s report was not clear here.
The bullet fragment lodged near the left mandibular condyle. I am unclear if the left side of the upper nasopharynx near the torus tubarius was injured or not. There is insufficient detail in Horn’s report to identify with precision exactly where bullet exited out of the anterior cranial fossa.
Kinetic energy and fragment spin would traumatize TA right frontal lobe. But TA would still be very much conscious and still be completely mobile. The bullet fragment trajectory was far away from the right motor strip or the right internal capsule.

It's a closeup picture of Travis' eye when Jodi took the picture of him in the shower. We know she was there, she confessed. Not sure why everyone is trying to ruin their eyes trying to find an image of her when we know she was there taking those pictures. lol jmo

what if in a reflection we see ja is not alone

Her lawyer may have preserved the records a while back because he figured he would eventually get a subpoena. Your coworker call call the Legal Compliance Dept at AT&T and ask them how far back they keep text content. http://www.search.org/programs/hightech/isp/ Hopefully, their policy has changed recently. If that doesn't work, she can try to get his cell searched by a professional with EnCase or a similar program. I wish her luck.

No, they were just in court last week and that's when he made to subpoena. Doesn't sound promising according to this. But it will be interesting if he is successful because then I'll have a real life reference point to consider. I think it's safe to say it may be an exercise in futility. He likely is just doing his job to at least try.

I respectfully disagree. I don't watch TV so I don't know what exactly the shows are saying about Mormonism but I don't doubt they are scandalizing it for ratings. Scandalizing the Mormons is nothing new. But I don't believe at all that JA herself has done anything to make the Mormon religion look bad. She has described its practices accurately. If anyone would be able to make the Mormons look bad it would be Jason Derek Brown or Mark Hofmann if anybody cares to Wiki these criminals. Or the Mormon church's involvment in Prop 8 in California. (That one really did not do the church any favors IMO)

I am not willing to give JA any credit for scandalizing the church.

As far as Mormons vs LDS..it seems now days some Mormons do not like to be called "Mormon" but when I was Mormon it was ok to be called that. Probably personal preference. They have not changed the name of "The Mormon Tabernacle Choir", yet.:moo:

Thank you, Sulamith. I believe you know far more about this subject than I do, so I'll defer to you. I was under the impression that not a few LDS members were upset about this trial... but I may have misunderstood. I do think that JA doesn't care a whit about the faith herself...

(Hey! Respectfully disagreeing is the only type of disagreeing I do - unless I'm being a nitwit or not thinking - I learn a lot from healthy, civil, reasonable debate/discussion). How boring if we all agreed on everything! :)

But Horn testified that it was likely Alexander was stabbed in the heart first, tried to defend himself, then had his throat slit, killing him. Then, Alexander was shot in the head.

Horn's theory is in conflict with other experts theories.

------

If Horn testified Travis was stabbed in the heart first, that was a fatal stab wound, this is why I can't believe he said that. If you stab him in the heart, he goes down, he does not come out and try to fend her off, he dies right there. This is why there is still much confusion between even the experts.

The wound to the heart hit a major vein, not artery. He explained had it been an artery, death would have been pretty swift due to the amount of blood spilling out. The vein is a slow bleeder, and while it was a fatal wound, the blood loss would not have been so swift that he went down as quickly (as he would have had she hit the artery). But I'm no medical expert, so who knows.

HAHAHAA!! Awesome visual!!!! Sometimes I feel bad for laughing at them but when the big ones look surprised and high-tail it out of the room so fast it's just too funny not to!!! (What a great doggie combo you've got! Chi + bulldog! Do they get along most of the time?)

They get along GREAT....as long as "people food" isn't involved! Zoie (the Chi) will ferociously snap at Daize (the Bulldog) in a second if she even looks toward food Zoie thinks she's going to get! She's a bossy lil .. female dog! :great: But sweet and cuddly as she can be too. She's a long hair chi.

Sorry for the O/T, y'all. :blushing:

Isn't it convenient that she always hits the back button and ends up in someone's email? Like what are the odds of that happening every time in every relationship with a cheater? Jodi was clearly snooping. It would make her look more human if she just admitted "I felt like he was cheating, he denied it so i checked his email." That's better than the BACK BACK oops here's your email....

There's a Chi-specific rescue near Phoenix if I recall, no? They're so cute... it breaks my heart when they're puppy-milled and are born with/develop brain problems etc.

Over/improper/heartless breeding of any dog breaks my heart...

Hey, do we need a DOG thread? :) I could hear and talk about them all day.
---
Are you going to court next week? I don't even know which building/floor it is - or what the protocols are (if any)... I'm trying to work up my courage to go. :)

Is that different than a normal pen?

It's a "regular" pen just like Angelo/Angela Bonafetti's (Hector Elizondo) f#$&@%g guitar in Young Doctor's In Love was a "regular" guitar. :D

Horn said he would not have died right away where this stab landed but would have died from it (I think he said in minutes, or would have become incapacitated within minutes) Whereas the throat wound and head wound would have incapacitated him within seconds. IIRC

I just keep looking at the first photo of him down, after he is alive and all the blood draining down behind the ear, down the neck, down the shoulders. Where is that coming from

Question: Is it a known fact that JA stole Travis' journals? If so, how and when, and why/how did Sky gain possession of them?

I seem to have missed this part.

I don't know why Nurmi wanted to know the reason why JA called her sister a name. What does that have to do with her murder trial?!! I felt bad for Angela and of course the camera had to pan to her to catch her reaction.

That said, Angela Arias has a public Myspace where she talks about her life, addiction and getting baptized. She is happy she is getting her life back together. She talks about that and JA on her Myspace blog Oct. 11, 2008.

I am just disgusted with Nurmi asking her about the comment about her sister..low blow Probably trying to drag the case out longer than it needs to be. :moo:

I agree-and I bet that about 75% of the testimony from the defendant is totally irrelevant to the case. Just makes me ill what they have done to so many people in this case, dragging them through the mud.

what if in a reflection we see ja is not alone

We would know about that by now. The State has had four years a their equipment is so much more sophisticated than anything we would have so I think that has been ruled out. Jodi admitted doing it and the State believes she acted alone. jmo

On the issue of psychopathy I think this is an important correlation.

Ted Bundy, one of America's most prolific serial killers, was undoubtedly a psychopath. Yet, he was able to maintain a semblance of a 'normal' life until he was arrested at age 29.

Before his arrest he was accepted into law school, despite mediocre test scores, on the recommendation of several psychology professors working at the university he'd graduated from. He worked at a suicide prevention center. (Crime writer and policewoman Ann Rule worked alongside him.) He had a lengthy relationship with a woman - 7 years. He learned chinese. He was passionately active in politics. He 'seemed' normal to most who knew him. Charming, even.

Just food for thought. Before Bundy I believe few would have entertained the notion that a psychopath could be a psych graduate devoted to the empathetic task of helping others through their darkest moments.

I dunno but I'd guess his throat. MOO

And in the photo sequence Travis is alive, then 30 seconds later he is NOT standing, he is down and there is blood running down the neck and shoulders. You don't get blood running down your neck and shoulders from a stab wound to the heart.

I find his theory 200% impossible

The stab wound to the subclavian would probably cause internal bleeding mostly. IIRC, the subclavian supplies blood to the extremities. At this point, the body shunts blood to vital organs, ex. Lungs, brain, heart. I agree with you 200% IMO
