I believe she was alive at the time of his death, but she passed away before the trial had started. What a shame.

So, Travis's grandmother is not alive to verify JA's testimony about Travis calling her to complain about Deanna? Hmmm...:waitasec:

Thanks. It is worth watching. I like Joey Jackson's way of explaining it objectively from both the defense and prosecution stance.

He's right about the jurors giving the Prosecution the creative license to question her a tad more harshly because the jurors want answers that make sense. Right now, they have a bunch of Jodi's sex stories and pouting she wanted a meaningful relationship while stalking and pushing herself at this young man.
I feel kind of sorry for this jury. I'm thinking they have to be confused and likely frustrated to some degree (thank God they're not sequestered). I think the age of the crime, the length of time it's taken to get to trial AND the way the trial is STILL being delayed and drug out must have some kind of impact on the jury. NOT TO MENTION watching and listening to Arias drone day in and day out. NOT TO MENTION the intense sexual language being thrown around likes it just everyday lingo :what:. I wonder how this jury is holding up so far??

You bring up a good point. I wonder if Nurmi is going to keep her up there after she describes the murder, IF she describes the murder, to detail why she lied to the cops etc. We could be in for another 2 weeks of testimony!
Or more :banghead:

No court until Tuesday?

This is bulls%$%!

I am so sick of Jodi. The defense has turned this into a sex circus. IMO, they have centered this case around sex because that's all Nurmi knows. Sex.

She seemed a little startled and/or taken aback when JM questioned her about that email. She did however, seem to quickly gain her composure with him IMO. I think it's going to be interesting how this pans out and how those two (Arias & Martinez) deal with each other when they finally come face-to-face. If he limits her to yes or no questions I think she's going to go into a panic mode.

I think JM is going to start out very easy on her. I'm thinking he may even let her "ramble" some like she's been doing. He's gonna let her get comfortable and then ... he's gonna start hammering. Easy at first and then ... he's gonna back her up against a corner and she won't be able to talk her way out of it. Martinez is going to make it VERY CLEAR to that jury just exactly what took place the day Travis was murdered.

Oooohh, I like how you talk with foreplay. I'm finding myself quite excited.

Arranged my schedule to be in court Tues, Wed and Thurs next week. I will be so disgusted if all those days are (wasted) taken up with more of the Jodi Arias Book of Lies (and if Gus has any mention whatsoever anywhere...blech!). Please just Juan favor I ask. Just Juan.

Watching Nancy Grace and she's showing footage of JA seriously crying the day they played the sex tape (before court I think?). I missed most of this week so what's the general concensus on those tears?

Also Nancy just cracked me up saying "Oh dear Lord in Heaven, do not take me inside Jodi Arias' head. That's just where I don't wanna be". lol she's so funny sometimes.

That was the day she, her attorneys, and Juan were in chambers. Juan left chambers and went to the family speaking in confidence with them. A bit later Nurmi, Wilmott and ja came out of chambers. ja looked as if she'd been crying.
The only thing I've heard (but no proof that I've found) is Nurmi was going to introduce the sex tape but play only the parts where it makes Travis look like a pedophile/abuser/deviant.
Apparently Juan felt the entire tape should be played. She was upset about the entire tape being played in open court (ja). The judge told the court no outbursts, the tape would be played. And so the prosecution received a gift from the defense because it's clear who was in charge during the call.

LoL - I still love me some Nancy once in a while (in small doses). She can be pretty hysterical.

Most think JA was freaking because she didn't expect the whole tape to come in. That the DT was going to cherry pick only certain parts of the tape to play, and they were not successful in keeping the parts they didn't want played excluded. Maybe it was because it was decided it would be played in open court, and not just in closed testimony that only the jury would hear. Someone said that TA's family would have been consulted about that, and REQUESTED it be played in open court. It certainly didn't paint her in a particularly good light, or make her come across as anything but a willing participant. If anything it showed how she more or less "led" the conversation and kept steering it towards sex.

The so called "bombshell sex tape" that everyone was waiting for turned out to be pretty anti-climactic (geez even that innocuous statement has undertones now LoL). I think we've been all sexed out in this trial. I bet the jury is probably pretty numb to it too.

Juan will bring it back into focus once Nurmi is done obfuscating. He has the last word, and it will be the last thing the jury hears before they deliberate. There will be justice for Travis....I truly believe that.

I had suspected that myself, but it apparently was not the case, from the legal standpoint. (Although maybe Jodi was ignorant to this.): http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8858457&postcount=85

I am now wondering if the defense is going to say"No further questions" when they get up to June 4th.

Dr. Lillian Glass has a body language analysis of Jodi up on her site...I am unsure if I am allowed to link it though..I have gotten confused now.

It's a holiday on Monday. No mail, no school, city and state govt offices closed. It can't be helped...not even for justice lol.

I hope it doesn't take that long BUT I can easily envision Nurmi having her on the stand for a couple of more weeks. There's still quite a bit of territory to cover ... assuming he's going to question her about the details of the actual murder.

If I were a juror on that trial I would appreciate getting to go home and also having breaks from the trial. Since ja has been on the stand I can't imagine having to be sequestered. I probably would pull my hair out. :pullhair::pullhair:

I said this in my last post - I don't think the upside down plates were done until after AZ, but done out in the desert while burning clothes. JMO

Now, after thinking it through, I realize she was trying to avoid detection in AZ completely, so that's where she'd want the upside down plates. But at first, I was thinking she wouldn't want to be stopped in AZ for upside down plates. :waitasec: Which is it?

I believe she wanted to be stopped by the police outside of AZ. Remember why she kept the receipts for everywhere instead of AZ. The police pulling her over outside of AZ would be her "solid" proof that she wasn't in AZ. I believe that once she got close to Utah she flipped the plates. She didn't fear being pulled over with the murder accessories at this point. She already took care of that in the desert. She didn't want to be stopped anywhere in AZ. I bet she was the perfect driver, hands at 10-2, signaling before changing lanes lol.

Makes the most sense. Thank You so much for bringing sanity into my life again. Seriously, never would think to change the plates like Jodi did. Did she get that idea from a movie?

I'm still not sure if I can, but want to go at least one day. :)

If I was on the jury, I'd be kicked off my now. As once they pulled us back for a break after her first day on the stand I'd be rolling my eyes at my former jurors and saying "can you believe this crazy crap?". then they'd kick me off.

I'd be a horrible juror. :truce:

I just know that JUAN WILL! I don't have a lot of faith in the justice system after CA... BUT I DO have faith in JUAN! He has a lot on his shoulders. I pray for strength for TA's family and friends... but I also pray for Juan Martinez. He's one of the best there is... but he too... is just a man. I think it speaks volumes that he sits there alone and not with a team. (How many attorneys will it take to convict Jodi Arias? JUST JUAN!)

ONE MAN ARMY.

I have complete faith in Juan.

During his cross of JA I think he should randomly throw them autopsy photos in the mix.....shock value.

Thank you! I too thought that's why she had been crying. That is the only time she has looked like she was really crying. The others have been fake crocodile tears. MOO
