I'm here for Travis.. he's still making friends.

Snipped and BBM

Awwww....moonbird, what a beautiful, comforting sentiment. I wish his family and friends could read those simple words, because I feel certain they would bring a moment of comfort to them. Those simple words really touched my heart.

With all the ugliness, lies, and gruesome violence of this young man's brutal murder, the TRUTH of his life, and his personality, has ensured that even 4 years after his death, he IS still making friends. If he were still living, I feel equally certain that he would still be making friends today.

A very beautiful sentiment, moonbird. Thank you for those simple, but powerful words.

I'm here for Travis, too. He is still making friends.

(May others use your words of support?)

Dr. Lillian Glass has a body language analysis of Jodi up on her site...I am unsure if I am allowed to link it though..I have gotten confused now.

A link to her blog should be just fine. :)

No court until Tuesday?

This is bulls%$%!

I am so sick of Jodi. The defense has turned this into a sex circus. IMO, they have centered this case around sex because that's all Nurmi knows. Sex.

I know ... I have a love hate relationship with this trial lol. What's even worse ... hubby has done got sucked up in to it also. He doesn't really follow crime too much but he did get wrapped up feet first in the CA trial ... he gained 15 lbs. He's trying to "watch his weight" during this trial. Things worked out pretty good today even though the trial got cancelled. We got a bunch of things on our to do list for tomorrow done today. Hopefully we "get ahead of the game" over the next few days and then we can veg out come Tue/Wed/Thur next week .

Sorry Missy... I had to stalk your page to find the post. CJ was the name posted. Does anyone have a link or video of Gus saying this?

lol no problem. I just hate to put her name out there if she really didn't want it out there.
I don't have a link, but will have a quick look, it was on TruTv this afternoon when JC was interviewing him.

Once she's convicted and sentenced to death, her first line of appeal will be ineffective counsel. She (and her new team of appellate attorneys) will claim she was pressured to go with this defense, that maybe she didn't do it after all, that maybe she was temporarily insane, that maybe aliens came down from the stars and did it in Ninja costumes and she didn't get a fair shake at a fair defense. And it will be decades of arguing all of that BS to try and free her.

And she will still die in prison. Old, grey, alone, hopefully forgotten.

You've been there katiecool, so you know what it's like for the victim. I, myself, will be happy when she rots in prison (perhaps waiting for her date with the needle), subsisting on bologna sandwiches and prison karaoke. When she is convicted (and I say WHEN not IF), I vow to forget about her. No notoriety will she glean from me. I won't follow her appeals, or anything else to do with her. She can appeal until the cows come home, but it will all be for naught. For me she'll be thrown out like the trash that she is.

She has no basis for claiming ineffective counsel. I think Nurmi has gone over and above (and under and into the gutter) to try and defend what she did. Others have disagreed with me, but I think he's even surpassed Jose Baez for dirty and underhanded tactics to defend an obviously guilty client. Jose Baez was a sleaze bag, but at least he had those snappy pocket hankies that always matched his ties LoL. (Nurmi seriously needs the advice of a good stylist. His wardrobe is hideous.)

Long story short, I think she is history.

One of Nancy's guests just said "this is 50 Shades of Crap!". haha then Nancy said she's gonna steal that.

OT There's a case on the news right this minute where a woman is getting fired from a christian college for having pre-marital sex. :what: Her bf worked there and wasn't fired. They have since married. Gloria Allred is their attorney.

I couldn't agree more. With the DP, usually the very first line of decades long appeals is ineffective counsel. They think they can get a clean slate with that and try a whole lot of whatever. It's a total waste of taxpayer money if you ask me.

I have complete confidence she will be convicted and receive the death penalty. But not after she, and her team, manage to disparage her victim every possible way they can think of (I wonder if somehow she will try and work in to her drivel is that he confessed a murder to her--that seems to be the only sin she's left out...so far).

She and her defense team are completely disgusting. And then throw the nasty Gus Searcy in there. It's just nauseating.

Watching Nancy Grace and she's showing footage of JA seriously crying the day they played the sex tape (before court I think?). I missed most of this week so what's the general concensus on those tears?

Also Nancy just cracked me up saying "Oh dear Lord in Heaven, do not take me inside Jodi Arias' head. That's just where I don't wanna be". lol she's so funny sometimes.

I want to think I saw shame. Jodi said Travis was the one that was a pervert and sexual deviant, and great manipulator of poor Jodi, but we saw Jodi as the one that kept the sex talk going, and spoke of a new fantasy with (that some would call perverted) Travis having sex with her breasts. It was Jodi as the aggressor, the instigator, and the manipulator of that call.

:floorlaugh: This one deserved more than just a thanks. LMFAO, how long WOULD it take before she got on even her own last nerve? :laughcry:.

For real!!!! It's a toss up for me ~ I can't decide if it'd be as short as 12 hours or a minimum of 6 months!!! LOLOLOL!!!

Ineffective counsel is a VERY common appeal tactic. However not only do I find that implausible because of the work of her counsel, but because of her own hampering of the process in the first place.

A thread or 2 ago, I saw a few brief comments I wanted to revisit, because I have mulled over the issue many times. (Scroll past if blood bothers you.)

Travis' murder was very brutal, and very messy (bloody). Jodi had to have a lot of blood on her and her clothing, shoes/ foot coverings, exposed skin, skin that clothing had soaked, hands, hair, (spatter) etc. This is NOT easily disposed of just by changing clothes or dabbing with paper or cloth towels. I know what I speak of, as I have been partially soaked a number of times with blood and body fluids from a difficult case in the OR. Merely changing clothes is not really enough to get clean. She had to have thoroughly showered very soon after the murder, and even then, sometimes there is still blood in areas you don't think of. For example, I wear plastic OR clogs (similar to crocs), and have had blood soak thru the vent holes, thru socks, and between and under my toes and toenails that was still there after a shower, that I found later. It's really hard to get rid of blood, once you're soaked with it to some degree. And she must have been really soiled, from the evidence.

So where did Jodi "clean up" after the murder? A truck stop? I suppose she bagged the clothing/ shoes and burned them somewhere. But the evidence pics sure don't look like she bathed in Travis' bathroom after. She had to clean up before meeting Ryan Burns in UT.

Where did she go to do this? Is there a logical truck stop with showers that was on her route? Thoughts? I'd love to hear JM ask her about this.

KZ,

I think the general consensus is that she showered over TA's body. There was a plastic cup found in the shower.

I don't find it necessary for her to get QUITE as bloody as you describe because I don't see there being THAT much blood at the crime scene. It's bloody, but I've seen much bloodier.

Perhaps common, but how often successful? I don't think she has a hope in hello on that, but it's JMHO.

ETA: Maybe one of the verified lawyers could chime in on that? From what I understand her lawyers would have to be glaringly ineffective for that to be considered. I don't see that in her case.

I think this pic from TigerBalm captured it perfectly!! Look JA and then the bailiff's smile!!!

I had suspected that myself, but it apparently was not the case, from the legal standpoint. (Although maybe Jodi was ignorant to this.): http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8858457&postcount=85

Thank you for this link. I was just looking for a similar post by Karmady, who is also an attorney. It corroborated what I already thought, which was that Nurmi HAD TO have already known that he could not play snippets of that tape. So if she was surprised and upset, it was a failure on the part of her team to not prepare her for that reality.

I think she was crying because reality was setting in. And the tape was about to be played in front of her family and the truth was coming out.

Yikes. Really? Over his body? In that small shower stall?? It's obvious he was showered off, once positioned. But her?

Wow. You may be right. But.....wow. I'm speechless. That's hard for me to envision, but I suppose it's possible.
