The way she describes him shot in the head, screaming and she was kneeling and put her hand on his back and said are you ok? And she said he got to his knees kind of but his hand holding the side of his head and he was saying "go get help go get help" then she really breaks down.

I just keep saying how could you have done this.. omg...

what's interesting is she totally stops crying when she is talking about her struggle with the ninjas - the totally made up crap.

After my reading so far I changed my thinking on the order of events that happened. They are as follows:

TA & JA had sex. TA told JA that he was not taking her to cancun. JA got mad and pretended to leave the house.

TA went to take a shower
JA suddenly appears in the bathroom taking pictures of Travis while he is showering. TA notices JA (TA look of surprise picture). JA shoots TA in the head. That bulliet didn't kill him but he was in shock. He made his way to the bathroom sink to look in the mirror (blood all over that sink). JA fires again but the Gun jammed. She get's the knife starts to stab him in his back. TA turns to face her tries to defend himself (defensive Wounds) JA stabs him in his chest. TA gets away from her. Goes down the hallway probably using the wall as support but is now to weak and falls to the ground face down (blood in the hallway). JA Straddles TA pulls his head back then slashes his throat from ear to ear. Takes pictures of her fresh kill. JA drags his now dead body back to the shower. Places his body into that shower to wash any of her DNA off of him. Takes the bed sheet to the washer, to cleaned any of her DNA (bleach)that might have been left on that sheet..Gos's bach to the shower takes more pictures of dead body.JA tries to do some clean up of the bloody scene. Does another load of wash throws camera in there too (to ruin pictures and camera). IMO

That would be inconsistent with the drag photo and the volume of blood at the end of the hall where imo his throat was slashed.

She would not need to be dragging him TO the spot she slit his throat, she did drag him BACK to the shower.

When you cut someone's throat the first thing that would drain would be the head, I would think. Plus Dr. Horn said all the blood was from the throat and there was no blood residue from the gunshot wound, I believe. jmo

Nor do I. If he had, why would Jodi be making car payments to him? they would just subtract what he "owed" her from her debt for the BMW, and if that had happened, you can bet she would have told Flores about it, since she offered him plenty of info about the BMW transaction.

ALSO! I just remembered, in her phonecalls to Flores after Travis was found Flores asks her if Travis was in trouble with anyone, or if he owed anyone money. She said the only money he owed anyone was to wealthy friends who made him a loan. Another lie I hope martinez points out.

She only came up with him borrowing money from her is because that fits the profiles of domestic abuse victims.

ITA! And I was watching today when they were replaying the money/loans bit of the trial and she said she gave him 699 because he was overdrawn at the bank. Just prayin that the pros HAS his bank statements, that would be another whopper to catch her in!

I will look for a good source that lined them up. I just don't think he would let her walk toward him with a knife and gun and be able to get a stab in, he could easily grab her arm (unless he turned for a moment) I just think getting a shot off is easier in terms of her not risking him grabbing her)

But seeing the number of days from death until discovered makes it difficult naturally to try to put that together.

I'm going over her interview You Tube videos 1 & 2. Amazing how much sounds "true" and how much of her voice and behavior change when I think she is making it up. You can almost glean small bits of truth inside her giant story.

What is interesting is how different she sounds there, compared to her Stepford Wife impersonation on the stand.. the very bland, one tone, quiet demeanor. Could be what has been drilled into her is due to the appearance of such a "rage" killing of monumental proportions, you must keep your composure at all times, you can't let them see that you get riled.

I feel guilty that I am excited to see if she gets "excitable" on cross. But, for educational purpose.. to study crime. :fence:

I wonder if she has a "button" that can be pushed.

I think jodi will remaiin cool as ice. Juan will not be able to get her angry. But it won't matter, IMO.

---------------
Hi, it sounds like the toxicology reports. They can take weeks sometimes.:seeya:

IIRC, the results eventually showed nothing in his system.

Ugh...the way she says he was shot in the head (she does say he was sitting, then he was shot in the head) then she holds her head, very nervous, closes her eyes (reliving it) and sort of shakes her hands (get this visual out of my head) and says "and Travis was screaming"

19:20 on. If I did not know better, that is very convincing and her emotion, she is just fibbing about "who" did that...

The description of Travis holding his head screaming sounds very real, and that precipitated the panic to me. Screaming and not dying, she would not know what to do. Help him or keep going. She kept going.

Jodi Arias Trial: Jodi Arias' Police Interrogation - YouTube

Not sure who could listen to that part and not think he was doing just what she said...
She said he kept screaming, but not like a girl.. just "ahhhhhh" then he said "go get help"
she said he wasn't getting up he was just sitting there screaming the whole time

Omg.. poor man.

I believe he did tell her "go get help" Poor guy did not even realize what happened and who did it. Probably felt a burning sharpness but just extreme pain, bullet lodged in the left cheek.

Her behavior is so different during these parts compared to her description of what we know to be lies.

This will give me nightmares to know he was calling for help

I agree. If you think about, JA HAS to be relating what happened because at this point she doesn't know what evidence LE has; she would need this info to construct a story around it.

What she is saying is not pure fiction.

MOO!!!!!

I 100% agree with you guys. Sometimes ME's are wrong a little bit. I think the state probably disagrees with the ME in this reagrd as well, but he is their expert and they have to go with it and it ultimately doesn't matter much to the charges or the defense.

JA has admitted the crime. Has she ever said what happened to the murder weapons (knife/gun)?

Not yet.

I guess I'm alone on this, but I don't have anything against Jose Baez. Everyone has the right to the strongest defense possible. The jury gave the verdict NOT Baez. They heard the evidence and unanimously agreed.

Baez is a sleazy lawyer. I watched that trial. He lied. He played dirty, highly unethical pool with various little tricks he did in motions and otherwise. I believe he engineered the fake story that casey NEVER testified to.

It's true that defense attorneys cannot turn away guilty clients. And yes, everyone is entitled to the strongest defense, but defense attorney's don;t have to break the ethical rules of conduct to put on a solid defense and they aren;t allowed to do so.

Baez did, however and if he hadn't, I don;t think casey would be free.

She is free not because the state failed to prove their case. She is free because the defense played dirty pool, and they lucked out with a highly sequestered and ignorant jury.

That would be inconsistent with the drag photo and the volume of blood at the end of the hall where imo his throat was slashed.

She would not need to be dragging him TO the spot she slit his throat, she did drag him BACK to the shower.

I don't know that it's inconsistent. I think he was crawling away from her when she straddled him and slit his throat. Both things could have caused the blood to flow.

Server jobs are NOT that difficult to get or keep, I have personal experience in the business for almost 2 decades- first as staff then management. She did move jobs more than anyone I know personally in terms of someone who 'stays' in the business. Most lower level restaurant staff work while they are going to school or are trying to make it in some other field, but a select few it is their long time career; those people usually stay at one restaurant for their entire career (or two). They know the job and menu like the back of their hand and have regular long time customers that tip them well.

She moved A LOT and as far as any testimony went, she personally never rented an apartment herself. She moved in with, or stayed with other people. she never put down a deposit or had a credit check, she glommed on to someone else who did.

I bet she was a credit ghost until she met Darryl and then began to acquire credit because of her relationship with him and his maturity and experience in this area. Of course her credit was good- she had never had any to ruin previously.

When she first got the job at Ventana she lived in a tent, until she got staff housing. I do not know anyone that has lived in a tent- for any length of time- as an adult, or otherwise.

She was with Darryl for four years- she did not live with him for four years- big difference, IMO. According to both she and Darry's testimony they lived in staff housing for a short time at the same time, but not together. He moved back to Monterey after that and at some point she lived with someone else in Monterey at the same time too.

As far as I can tell they lived in the house together for even less amount of time then they owned it for- which wasn't that long. The house was purchased June 2005, IIRC and Darryl was on his way back to Monterey by fall of 2006 right? She stayed in the house til foreclosure in Jan/Feb/March of 2007. I may have the exact dates/years wrong but timeframe wise, close Someone please correct me if you can.

She admitted that she didn't have the credit or income to buy the house herself- that it was because of Darryl they were able to get the house. If she was able to save $10,000-12,000 like she stated on the stand it was because of her relationship with Darryl. She probably got her new car in the timeframe with Darryl too, as well as her 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, so Darryl really was beneficial to Jodi in many, many ways. Interestingly enough, it doesn't take long for her in this short time owning the house with Darryl to:

-Blow through her savings
-Stop paying bills towards the house
-Begin burning through her actual credit balance (making mortgage payments on those- remember) I do not know anyone who has payed their mortgage with a credit card. I'm sure some people do, I don't know them.

By the time she is at the end of her relationship with Travis, she has ruined her credit entirely, barely has money left on her card(s) in terms of balance and is having her car repossessed! She has to ask Gus for a phone and beg her mother for money to get back to Yreka, where she will live at her Grandparents for free.

I would also not be surprised if she had run ins with the law when she was a rebellious teen- but the record(s) would be sealed. We have heard from no one but Jodi in regards to her childhood and teen years.

This, to me, is A LOT OF INSTABILITY that proves an unstable, parasitic lifestyle. MOO!

Everything posted above may be 100% accurate. But nothing stated above speaks to the proposition that JA was a psychopath or an inveterate liar.
Everything posted above may be 100% accurate. But nothing stated above speaks to the proposition that JA was a psychopath or an inveterate liar.
Well, actually, there are indications of sociopathic behaviour. As I understand it, psychopathy is largely a state of mind, while sociopathy (anti-social behaviour) is quantified in the DSM.

There is an inability to hold down a job, and inability to hold down a relationship, a lot of moving around, and a major lack of responsibility and inherent carelessness. The lifestyle is clearly parasitic as well. That's enough to start with, IMO in terms of raising red flags.

No, it doesn't show her as a liar, but I don't see that being asserted in the original post. But there are definitely indications of sociopathic behaviour.

Just throwing something out there.

Diabolical Jodi is hell bent on murdering Travis and drives over 1000 miles to do it, had him in the must vulnerable position ever.....Please no posting pics but we know the one flat on his back with his eyes closed and most likely sleeping. Assuming that when she arrived she was not able to due to his being up, this was in my mind the perfect time.

With that line of thinking, why not shoot him in his front door? Or right inside the home as he turns to go back up the stairs?

She may have been working up nerve or she may simply have wanted to make sure that any trace of her DNA could be washed off, where he fell. Remember, she washed all the bedding after the murder.

Sorry - not caught up on today's posts yet. We keep taking Jodi' word for it that she arrived at 3 or 4AM with no proof. The first time it's proven she's there is what........1:30 PM the day of the murder?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

this is great and provides me with a lot of clarity.
thanks.

It would be interesting to hear from people from her past. And yes, I think most of us who believe she shows evidence of being a psychopath or sociopath are gleaning that mostly from what we have heard and seen since she knew Travis.

But there are some clues, I think. These are the characteristics of a sociopath or psychopath. Not all will apply. I have bolded the ones I think that may apply to jodi arias (among possible others on the list):

Dr. Hare's Checklist (Sociopathic Traits)
1. GLIB and SUPERFICIAL CHARM -- the tendency to be smooth, engaging, charming, slick, and verbally facile. Sociopathic charm is not in the least shy, self-conscious, or afraid to say anything. A sociopath never gets tongue-tied. They have freed themselves from the social conventions about taking turns in talking, for example.
2. GRANDIOSE SELF-WORTH -- a grossly inflated view of one's abilities and self-worth, self-assured, opinionated, cocky, a braggart. Sociopaths are arrogant people who believe they are superior human beings.
3. NEED FOR STIMULATION or PRONENESS TO BOREDOM -- an excessive need for novel, thrilling, and exciting stimulation; taking chances and doing things that are risky. Sociopaths often have low self-discipline in carrying tasks through to completion because they get bored easily. They fail to work at the same job for any length of time, for example, or to finish tasks that they consider dull or routine.
4. PATHOLOGICAL LYING -- can be moderate or high; in moderate form, they will be shrewd, crafty, cunning, sly, and clever; in extreme form, they will be deceptive, deceitful, underhanded, unscrupulous, manipulative, and dishonest.
5. CONNING AND MANIPULATIVENESS- the use of deceit and deception to cheat, con, or defraud others for personal gain; distinguished from Item #4 in the degree to which exploitation and callous ruthlessness is present, as reflected in a lack of concern for the feelings and suffering of one's victims.
6. LACK OF REMORSE OR GUILT -- a lack of feelings or concern for the losses, pain, and suffering of victims; a tendency to be unconcerned, dispassionate, coldhearted, and un empathic. This item is usually demonstrated by a disdain for one's victims.
7. SHALLOW AFFECT -- emotional poverty or a limited range or depth of feelings; interpersonal coldness in spite of signs of open gregariousness.
8. CALLOUSNESS and LACK OF EMPATHY -- a lack of feelings toward people in general; cold, contemptuous, inconsiderate, and tactless.
9. PARASITIC LIFESTYLE -- an intentional, manipulative, selfish, and exploitative financial dependence on others as reflected in a lack of motivation, low self-discipline, and inability to begin or complete responsibilities.
10. POOR BEHAVIORAL CONTROLS -- expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper; acting hastily.
11. PROMISCUOUS SEXUAL BEHAVIOR -- a variety of brief, superficial relations, numerous affairs, and an indiscriminate selection of sexual partners; the maintenance of several relationships at the same time; a history of attempts to sexually coerce others into sexual activity or taking great pride at discussing sexual exploits or conquests.
12. EARLY BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS -- a variety of behaviors prior to age 13, including lying, theft, cheating, vandalism, bullying, sexual activity, fire-setting, glue-sniffing, alcohol use, and running away from home.
13. LACK OF REALISTIC, LONG-TERM GOALS -- an inability or persistent failure to develop and execute long-term plans and goals; a nomadic existence, aimless, lacking direction in life.
14. IMPULSIVITY -- the occurrence of behaviors that are unpremeditated and lack reflection or planning; inability to resist temptation, frustrations, and urges; a lack of deliberation without considering the consequences; foolhardy, rash, unpredictable, erratic, and reckless.
15. IRRESPONSIBILITY -- repeated failure to fulfill or honor obligations and commitments; such as not paying bills, defaulting on loans, performing sloppy work, being absent or late to work, failing to honor contractual agreements.
16. FAILURE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR OWN ACTIONS -- a failure to accept responsibility for one's actions reflected in low conscientiousness, an absence of dutifulness, antagonistic manipulation, denial of responsibility, and an effort to manipulate others through this denial.
17. MANY SHORT-TERM MARITAL RELATIONSHIPS -- a lack of commitment to a long-term relationship reflected in inconsistent, undependable, and unreliable commitments in life, including marital.
18. JUVENILE DELINQUENCY -- behavior problems between the ages of 13-18; mostly behaviors that are crimes or clearly involve aspects of antagonism, exploitation, aggression, manipulation, or a callous, ruthless tough-mindedness.
19. REVOCATION OF CONDITION RELEASE -- a revocation of probation or other conditional release due to technical violations, such as carelessness, low deliberation, or failing to appear.
20. CRIMINAL VERSATILITY -- a diversity of types of criminal offenses, regardless if the person has been arrested or convicted for them; taking great pride at getting away with crimes.

http://sociopathicstyle.com/traits/classic.htm

Most of what I have bolded can be gleaned from jodi's interviews with media and police and her affect after murdering Travis.

Her testimony regarding her childhood history and allegations of abuse struck some as evidence of very frustrated parents trying to deal with an out of control child. There is a rumor? that she broke her little brother's arm with a bseball bat when they were children. She testified that she skipped final exams and was ditching school. She failed to graduate. It is unlikely that she became promiscuous overnight.

She testifies to a stream of boyfriends that she went through in succession, with overlaps. The longest relationship is with Daryl but she left him the very moment something better came along. I think he was the best thing she had until then. Note how easily she left her boyfriend's little boy, who she lived with for sometime, with never any further contact.

Sociopaths and psychopaths often exhibit criminality, have a list of charges, explosive tempers, etc. I think she might have exhibited explosiveness when younger but we don't know for sure. Regardless, not all sociopaths and psychopaths evidence every one of the traits on the list.

I recommend reading The Sociopath Next Door by Martha Stout. Fascinating read. Many, many sociopaths lead "normal" lives, married, with kids, in business, and few know the truth of who they are. Many learn to hide it.

I mean, look at BTK, or Ted Bundy or a host of other serial killers who effectively hid their true natures from most people.

They also are very effective at slipping out of legal trouble because often, the people they victimize are ashamed that they had been taken in by such a person.

Perhaps he had a towel over his face drying his hair, when the attack began with a stab to the chest.

I think that is a big possibility because the orange towel in the washer that had bleach spots all over it was originally white. If you look at the pictures of Travis' linen closet he only had white towels. Jodi did not clean up, other than herself so I could see her stabbing him while he was drying his hair. He would have never suspected it. jmo

I am sick after transcribing (not exact but close) Video 1. I have a weird feeling, I think she is describing the scene quite accurate only she is the female aggressor she claims killed Travis, and the male aggressor is Travis. (and Travis is Travis) She portrays the Female stern and aggressive and wants Travis and her dead. The male as not really aggressive and comes and goes from the room (Travis = non aggressive in this battle) Female aggressor has a gun, shoots Travis in the head, then she has a knife, standing over him.

The utterances she claims Travis made are probably exactly what he said. She said that Travis even told her (Jodi) to go to hell at one point. He is just struggling to stay alive. I don't find much to disagree with her here except she is the lead actress playing the female assailant not the mystery woman. Her story follows the probably real path as she knows they have evidence of him crawling along into the bedroom toward the hall which is why she says she got him, tried to get him along (to take him to safety) ya sure.

-------------------------------------------

she was over him, Travis was bleeding everywhere. (he is alive conscious, breathing, not talking, not screaming, he was just there) I pushed her, she is little bit bigger than me. (man left room) It didn't really deter her. I thought she was the one that had the gun, but. When I woke up he was screaming. I got Travis, he was not like standing up really, he wasn't doing much, i was trying to get him, and, she came back and got him kind of far, like right here, and, he was just, he was starting to get weaker and weaker and the guy came back in, and she said that they needed to do me to.

Because he was there, and he was like no that's not why we are here. He had my purse, which I had on the dresser here. Um, she came after me, she didn't get me, she had a knife. I don't know if she had a gun, I think, I'm guessing. She had a knife (Detective: seems like from what you are telling me she was the aggressor? and he was the more passive) I guess so. Ya I mean there was definitely aggression, as far as I mean I don't know what you define as aggression by, its like, I was, there was a sternness and I wasn't like just free to walk out of there. They had an argument back and forth and she wanted to kill me, and he didn't. (Detective: why didn't they kill you) He said that's not why we are here for.

Ya but he didn't seem to know them (Travis) he was a little out of it, he didn't express any kind of recognition. He was able to say "go to hell" and at one point he said "go to my neighbors house".

Go to my neighbors house. I .. there was just no way out. Um, she had a knife and I don't know...he was bleeding everywhere, it was like, when she rushed me afterward.. I rushed her she came back at me, Travis and I were right about here. Um, and there was a little bit of a struggle with her and I. I was so scared, I'm not a person that fights, i'm not a person who knows about self defense, I took some classes once about 8 yrs ago. So I was not sure I just knew I had to hold onto her hands, she had a knife. In this hand her right I guess? (Detective asks.. her right?) Jodi looks puzzled, or now can't answer.

When I tried getting Travis here he said go to hell and when I came back this way, pushed her, he said go to my neighbors go to my neighbors. I said NO i wasn't going to leave without him, i felt stupid already for trying to run this way, I was going to try to get a phone. I said come on come one! He was naked but I didn't care, i was like Come on! he said "I can't... I can't feel my legs" And they wouldnt let me be by him.

She really really really wanted to From there they were.. i was here, he was here, i had to stay here, I was calling his name.

It was all....so....weird. he was going through my purse. He pulled out my wallet, he took some cash.

She was like, right here.

She was arguing with him. It wasn't super yelling, it was hush, but intense. He got my wallet and, he was looking through it. He got my registration out.

Travis was still alive. he wasn't doing a lot, I could see he was still alive. I left the room. I went down stairs but I didn't have all my clothes.

Spit ballin' here

A non fatal wound to the the head could have made him delirious, chasing her.... she stabs him repeatedly.

On the other hand, shooting him first, she probably would have left him for dead right away. I mean, that's the way it happens in TV shows and movies. JA watches a LOT of those.

But, then again, why shoot him AFTER all the stabbing and virtual decapitation?

However JA did it, she wanted him DEAD. She planned it ahead of time, went there and did it.

I am still conflicted about the order. But in my mind it has to be the shot OR the stab to the chest. Clearly he was able to stagger up or fall toward the sink and lean there, probably supporting himself with his hands, or forearms. That is when the spray of blood occurred over the sink area. This is the time that I think she inflicted the clustered stab wounds to his back. He may have been able to turn around, hands up, and received the defensive wounds to his hands then. Quickly he went down and was probably crawling down the hallway making a desperate attempt to get away. She caught him at the entrance to the bedroom and slit his throat on the carpet, then dragged him back down the hall to the shower. It is just beyond imagining.........and I always imagine her talking or singing to him in that creepy little girl voice. Even though he was dead, there may have been some movement or sound from him, I guess it is possible she shot him as he lay on the floor in the bathroom .....try and picture the angle of the shot if she shot him while he lay in that semi raised position of the dragging photo......may be a matching angle.

ITA! And I was watching today when they were replaying the money/loans bit of the trial and she said she gave him 699 because he was overdrawn at the bank. Just prayin that the pros HAS his bank statements, that would be another whopper to catch her in!

I can't find the link at the moment but someone blew up that $699 check and it was noted as payment for airline fare. So Jodi didn't loan Travis money, she was reembursing him for travel expenses...I believe it to be true as I watched the Travis family when Jodi was testifying to these loans and they had quite a smirk on their face...they have seen those checks.

On the issue of psychopathy I think this is an important correlation.

Ted Bundy, one of America's most prolific serial killers, was undoubtedly a psychopath. Yet, he was able to maintain a semblance of a 'normal' life until he was arrested at age 29.

Before his arrest he was accepted into law school, despite mediocre test scores, on the recommendation of several psychology professors working at the university he'd graduated from. He worked at a suicide prevention center. (Crime writer and policewoman Ann Rule worked alongside him.) He had a lengthy relationship with a woman - 7 years. He learned chinese. He was passionately active in politics. He 'seemed' normal to most who knew him. Charming, even.

Just food for thought. Before Bundy I believe few would have entertained the notion that a psychopath could be a psych graduate devoted to the empathetic task of helping others through their darkest moments.

There are many successful psychopaths who find a way to not get caught yet engage in depraved/anti-social behaviour, often insidiously. They are overrepresented in areas like law and psychiatry. Hervey Cleckley's, The Mask of Sanity, to me, is still the best exposition of psychopathic mind and behaviour.

gitana1, the CA jury is the same one the Prosecution chose. Not just the Defense. I have a lot of respect for the jury process.

The jury hearing the case against JA will deliberate and conclude on the evidence they are presented.

I have a lot of respect for the jury process.

yes - an unstable, parasitic lifestyle.

She is just. So. Cold. I wonder if he really did tell her to go get help, maybe not believing that she was the one hurting him? It's tearing my heart up to think of this.

I don't think she panicked. I think she's too cold and heartless to panic. Someone who can speak this nonchalantly to Det. Flores at this point isn't capable of panic. He tells her that he doesn't believe her, and she just keeps going. She gave TV interviews and all kinds of stuff, just cool as a cucumber. Yikes.

omgosh - just catching up with IS today and to hear Jodi talk about how Travis wanted to take pictures of her in her bikini. She sat there with such shame saying "no, I deleted those photos, because they showed cleavage". Oh the embarassment, the abuse (my words).

But yet, she has oral sex with him that same weekend at havasupie! Alrighty then - delete those nasty bikini photos.

I wanted to throw something at my TV it made me so mad!!

Thanks for letting me vent.

And let us not forget the BTK killer, Dennis Rader!

Rader attended Butler County Community College in El Dorado, earning an associate degree in electronics in 1973.[5] He then enrolled at Wichita State University and graduated in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in administration of justice.

Solid employment: Rader worked as an assembler for a camping gear firm and then, from 1974 until 1988 (then later worked as a dog-catcher).

Rader was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and had been elected president.

He was married for 34 years.

AFAIK - he had no prior arrests before the BTK murders (10 or so).

So it appears to me you can have a steady life outside of your psycho side. Scary isn't it?

MOO

Mel

What do you think David Westerfield is? It's always bothered me about the story of him rubbing his thumb on his nieces teeth when she slept one night. We all know what it was.
