I'm just stating how it has worked at WS since about 4 years before I actually signed up.

While I don't necessarily agree with the rule, I have to agree that you are correct. It's my understanding that an unverified professional isn't supposed to even allude to their expertise for fear of their opinion garnering undue deference without verification. The TOS on the subject was somewhat unclear previously, but I believe it's been clarified since then that we're not to say anything like "I'm an unverified ____, so take it fwiw, but I think ___" Understandable on an anonymous forum where anyone could claim to be anyone or anything.

Why does she wear makeup some days in trial (JA) and other days not ???????

She doesn't wear it when she knows she's going to cry. :floorlaugh:

Has she explained why she had a knife when Travis "lunged" at her in the bathroom? or was she pealing potatoes in the bathtub?

BBM means "Bold By Me" and is used when you bold a phrase in someone's post when you are quoting them. :)

I love Nancy Grace too, she's a hoot, but I wish she would quit cutting her guests off in mid sentence when I want to finish hearing the point they are making. It's maddening to me, but still I love Nancy.

Thank you!!!

i catch doing this a lot, excuse me, i don't believe she said specifically pedophilia, iirc she said help with his disorder...she alluded to pedophilia before that statement and leads you to believe in your mind, it was for pedophilia. she is really shrewd. to be honest, her lawyer should have asked her specifically what disorder she meant and to describe what the pamphlet included. of course all the defense can do for her is to muddy the waters.

He did pursue the point about what the problem was and she said it was after he had talked about sodomizing a 12 yr old girl.
So that would be pedophilia.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the:

"Compare the receipts and the monetary transactions"

I live 2000+ miles away from Mesa and found the thread extremely helpful.

Never been to CA or AZ (just Vegas by plane). :)

Note: Somebody jump in and let me know if I ever do or say something improper.

I think any opinion is valued if it is based on fact regardless if they are verified or not. I think a paramedic would be able to verify what we see in the picture before they are first responders. Paramedics and EMT's are highly respected in the medical field. And that is a fact. As for myself, I would respect their opinion. jmo

Look, I'm not saying that I don't respect his/her opinion. Just that anyone can throw around "I'm qualified here or I'm qualified there"....this is the internet. People can say they are whoever they want to be.

I'm not trying to persuade you one way or another on what you believe so I don't understand why you keep trying to convince me of whose testimony or which parts of the evidence I should believe.

Your arguments directed at me do not make any logical sense to me and I have a different opinion than you do. Period.

Well, I hope they verify with a MOD. I'm looking forward to their input. jmo

Whew... there are quite the 'tudes in here tonight. :D

I'm not claiming to be smarter than anyone else, just stating my opinion. Take it FWIW.. which granted, ain't much!

It just makes no sense to me that JA would think for a second she would be able to subdue TA with a knife. What does make sense is that the sequence of events was just as she told Det Flores.... shot first and the gun locked up. From there, she doesn't reveal what happens. But the closer her story remains to the truth, without implicating herself, of course, the more likely it matches with the evidence.

All that being said, just because it makes sense to me doesn't make it so.

I'm done on that debate. You're welcome. :D

Ditto :great:

I saw a problem developing when the trial started...the Flores/Horn debacle on testifying....how in this bloodbath should/would/could matter ?

She stole the gun to bring to Mesa. If she was going to knife him to death than why bother stealing a gun..???

I cringed when this was being argued in court. To me it doesn't matter which came first.
We know he suffered because the mess that was left behind

He was crawling down the hall and was still alive, according to Jodi. jmo

According to the evidence also of the huge blood stain on the carpet, obviously he was attempting to get away from her, had gotten that far when she slit his throat.

In the case of a retired paramedic, I agree it would be nice if they became verified.

Some people who are currently employed in some of the fields (ME, psychology, attorny, LE, etc) may not want to become "verified" and would rather stay anonymous.

ETA: Even people who are retired could prefer to remain anonymous....it's not my place to ever specifically ask anyone to verify themselves. That is a personal choice.

And I continue to beat the drum for this point! lol I can't figure out for the life of me why the State is diminishing its premeditation case to stand by a highly questionable "stabbed first" defense. jmo

Your POST expressed an opinion about the ME's report. I was responding to the post and the post only. There has been nothing factual to disprove what the ME stated in his report and testified to in court other than opinions expressed here. Granted we are not experts (other than our parametic because they would know for sure) but the ME was at the scene and made his report and the court, the state and defense back up that report because it goes unchallenged by either side. jmo

At the mall? I've only seen those in bus stations or ...truck stops!
Maybe she got some pamphlets while she was dying her hair in the truck stop.

(Just kidding!!!!!! )
Yep. At the mall. It's funny how her lies just slide right past until someone thinks to actually question it. Lying comes as easy as breathing to her.
Just think, she is betting the rest of her life on her ability to lie so well in court that she will either be found not guilty or get a light sentence.
She isn't fighting the charges because the State doesn't have the evidence. They have plenty of evidence. We know she killed him. She has no hospital visits or photos that show domestic violence. Every bit of her defense is riding on her ability to lie.
Someone like this has lied all their lives and found they benefit from the lies. She has one heck of an ego.

The traffic camera comment leads me to believe that she put the plates on, upside down prior to leaving Cali. I think she was under the impression the cameras ran 24/4 and did not want to chance the plates being easily displayed for the camera.

Yea, but all they would have to do is turn the picture upside down. The cameras take an actual shot of the back of the car. Besides, I can read upside down almost as well as right side up. Surely others can too.

Kinda related: Does the DT have a forensic scientist witness lined up to contradict the ME? Will the DT be calling the ME to the stand? Does anyone know? [I thought there was a witness list somewhere]

Don't you wish truth serum were real and worked on psychopaths. We might actually get our questions answered!

I think Kenneth Taylor did do that, but it was a farce. This man was indeed a true psychopath. The book Shattered Dreams is a good read.

I read a post on this forum somewhere the other day that the info about 25 caliber gun of Jodi's Grandpa that was stolen, would NOT be admitted into trial. So I assume that means no mention of that particular theft or that particular 25 gun when Juan gets his chance on Cross?

Although the 25 has already been mention on the investigative videos between Jodi and Det. Flores that were played in front of the jury.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong! I hope I'm wrong.

I think that he's the one who gave HER the brochure. When she first mentions the brochure she says that it's for "mental illnesses" or something of that kind. When she mentions it again, after she's implied that he's a pedophile, she says it's for "his problem". She's very crafty with her subtle suggestions.

Nonetheless, I think he gave her a brochure and it sure did tick her off! She may well have mailed him a bunch back at a later date.

...

What "fight"? Travis had defensive wounds. Jodi did not.

It is apparent to me that she kept killing him because he wouldn't die fast enough and because he tried in vain to lurch away, not because he put up any fight. IMO she disabled him with the first shot or stab (whichever came first). What followed were his death throes.

...

The part where he got his defensive wounds is what I called a fight. I'll use a different term than 'fight' if anyone likes, though.

The part where he was trying to be defensive. That part ;)

I do think he tried to defend himself a bit at first. And he tried to get away. Nothing surprises me about any of that, and I agree that he was gravely disabled as the majority of that was happening (maybe not during the first slash or two). I just think JA was very successful early on in the 'part where Travis was trying to be defensive'.

The towel-drying his hair is a good theory, imho. I do think he was taken by surprise one way or another, probably.
