??So that JA would increase her chances of being stopped due to the flipped license plate??

??For reasons of propriety - two unmarried Mormons in same car might not be prudent??

??
She'd already been pulled over, somewhere in southern Utah IIRC.

As to two unmarried mormons in the same car....they're not the Taliban. That wouldn't even raise an eyebrow.

Maybe she realized how much the car smelled like blood and had to stop to toss the floor mats? I can see her not wanting Ryan in her car for the reason it might hold some clues, but why wouldn't she ride in his car? I don't even have a guess.

JA was pulled over after she left RyanB's house, on that first double car ride to RyanB's meeting. Details at the following link on page 4 of 6 at the 12pm notation: http://www.hlntv.com/slideshow/2013/02/11/jodi-arias-trial-tragic-roadtrip

BBM - "... they're not the Taliban ..." - Sorry! Hope I didn't offend! Still trying to learn/understand the Mormon rules.

Me too. Wonder if Nurmi will do a pre emptive strike on this and bring it up.

It's like Scott Peterson being caught with dyed hair and all kinds of "getaway" material in his car. And a map to Amber Frey's house.

I suspect they (Jodi Arias and her defense team) will somehow try to blame this gun purchase on Travis. Posthumously. smh

IMHO I was wondering the same. And honestly, the only thing that I could come up with is somehow they would show even though she had stabbed/shot him she was fearful he was still alive somehow and really mad this time. No one called her to say he was dead for 6 days. I bet she figured he would be found sooner since the roommate was supposed to be home around 6pm I think I read.

Wasn't this what Mary Winkler said the reason she had the gun still? I think that is the name, the preachers wife who ran off with her children and the gun with her?

i agree, she may have thought the bathroom was the best room for clean up.. he says he's going to take a shower... she may have used the 'calvin klein ad' photo shoot excuse as a reason to be in the bathroom with him, and for why the shower door was open. there he would be: naked, wet/slippery, vulnerable (relaxed by the hot water,) trapped in the stall... that's why those photos were carp - 'cause she really didn't care about taking them.

It's also supported by the fact that she dragged him back into the shower area after his death, where she attempted to wash away evidence, as mentioned by Flores in his report. She indeed wanted to murder to be done in the bathroom.

I have never heard of a man who did not like being praised for their "prowess" in bed. IMO, JA learned that form of complementing early on. I bet it is really hard to walk away from someone who thinks you "walk on water" and are "God's gift to women". I get the impression from watching the videos of Travis, that he was just coming into his own. He liked the validation he received from helping and motivating others. From where he started to what he achieved, in such a short amount of time, IMO was amazing. He was about to take the next step in his journey of life when it was cut so tragically short. In addition to what he achieved in life, he has touched so many of us in death.

And he could relate to and had great compassion for broken and troubled individuals. Sounds like he took into his home and under his wing a number of young persons who were struggling and needed a positive influence and some stability.

Is there any corroborating evidence anywhere suggesting Travis asked Jodi for money, for any reason? Other than purchase of his car?

Ha!! Nope, not a clue....I DO remember her asking Flores about the 2 checks she wrote Travis and being pretty concerned if they were going to be cashed and being relieved that they weren't going to be....also something to do with calling the family about the ownership of the Beemer.
We MUST get our priorities straight when we are basically charged or going to be charged with the butchering of someone. One less thing on our minds when we need to try desperately hard to make up a story or 3.

ETA: And, good Lord, I SWORE I would NOT get so invested in this case.....

If the defense doesn't open the door to all of this info, can Juan still cross her on it somehow? I hope so. It's very important imo.

I hope so, agree completely.

I was just reading or watching something last night, where the TH lawyers were criticizing the State for not bringing this info up in their CIC. They were stating that in their opinion, this was very important info to get in front of the jury. So somehow he needs to get it in. I hope...any of our attys here to weigh in on this?

The blood spatter expert testified that there was a large amount of water in the hallway and on the underside of the carpet in the bathroom entry. How did the large amount of water get there? I know she wiped with a towel, which she probably wet in the tub. Wouldn't there be transfer somewhere or evidence in the tub of blood? TIA

I think she was insanely jealous of any female in his life regardless of dating status.

She claimed he never kept anything, just deleted them right away.

She also says that her phone died.

That call points heavily to premeditation. It was padding to her cell phone alibi. She knew the missing time would invoke suspicion and so she made this call shortly after the murder to give the air of credibility to her forthcoming explanation to law enforcement.

Damn, this woman is clever.

Yep, so clever that she took the knife, gun & bloody clothes with her but left the camera.

are you saying that blood atonement is not mormon doctrine or that it doesn't apply in relation to sexual impropriety? TIA

It is not something that is ever spoken of at church. It is a rather old-timey doctrine that would apply only to atoning for murder. It would never ever be paired with anything less than that. It comes from the idea that in order to fully repent of a sin, we must pay restitution, and the only way to "pay" restitution for murder would be to give your own life.

It is not a concept that is taught at church, and which I think represents justice from a different era. MOO.

I'm just trying to figure out who was next on her hit list. My gut tells me she was just getting started.

I have forgotten, where in Utah was Ryan? Phoenix to SLC is 11 hours. A lot of time for her to be driving around "lost" while she was actually with Travis.

Not sure but she was pulled over by the traffic police in Cottonwood Heights, eastern suburbs. Ryan was driving in convoy with her and stopped too, so maybe he lived close to there.

I'm NOT by any means "legal" in any sort of laws, etc....but, I keep trying to say to myself that what JM says in the Closing Statements will tie everything together and wrap it in a bow.

I AM wondering if it's the same in AZ as in Fla. where the Prosecution will get "another" chance, so to speak, after the Defenses closing??

If I am repaying a personal loan to a friend I would write Thank You in the memo line.

Yeah, I've written all kinds of things in the memo line. I just think/suspect that Travis loaned Jodi money on a regular basis. We know she owed him for the car, and for trips, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was more.

Yep, so clever that she took the knife, gun & bloody clothes with her but left the camera.

She truly believed that the water in the washing machine would "short circuit" the camera, preventing a successful forensic examination.

The person she seems to harp on the most was Deanna Reid (sp?), even though they were not dating/involved anymore.
