Perversion is a perfect word for it.

If you could only have seen the courtroom during this last appeal (a mini trial in and of itself..that we had to testify in...and as another odd involvement, the famous bluegrass singer Allison Krauss' father also testified who is one of my Dad's best friends and translated German at my sister's funeral--and also happens to be a mental health professional so had a dual role in giving his opinion on these killer's "mental retardation").

Anyway, the courtroom was PACKED on the side of the killers (who were not present until AFTER the biased Judge, the only finder of fact and openly against the DP, found one of them "mentally retarded" thus off Death Row--the other one has been appealing her decision now for a few years). Our side of the courtroom often just had me and my Dad sitting in it. The roles definitely flip as to who the victim is. My sister's name was almost never mentioned in this appeal. The entire focus was on these poor "mentally retarded" premeditated murderers. Who plotted for months the cold blooded murder of my sister then spent two weeks in a sophisticated cover up, while living in her apt., pawning her jewelry and driving her car.

Katie, have you ever connected with Tulessa on the boards?

I want to know who the murdering cultists are that carefully plan their murders by dates. I want names if these so called satanists. They write books on the best days to kill people? Really?

Still not buying it. Any of it.
I know Jodi acted alone.

I'm disputing Jodi ascribing to any belief system. Cults, satanists, Mormonism, Wicca. None matter to jodi. Jodi worships Jodi.

I'd also bet Jodi's favorite number isn't 11, it's 69

Not specifically but I do know she has also been through a living hell herself.

I've given this quite a bit of thought recently. My interest in "justice" and murder trials specificallly.

I do get some satisfaction in reaching out to other families. I also get a great deal of satisfaction seeing justice served.

On another level though I think connecting with other families of murdered families gives me a sense of belonging on this planet. As if we belong to the same tribe or something. A sad, unfortunate tribe to be sure. But in some way it makes me feel less alone. So for that, I think, healthy or not, it draws me to feel connected.

I also feel very grateful for people caring as most all of you have extended to me. That also makes me feel less alone and as if this whole nightmare hasn't existed in a vacuum.

BRIT--- If you think about Jodi did what she pleased, she twists anything to her liking

And no one's saying she's a Wiccan, whatever cult that is...Jodi's a twisted witch, let's leave it at that..LOL

IMO that's an insult to witches. She's a lowly psychopath. She never loved Travis. She wanted him, like any other disposable object.

You said:'We've all read about her dabbling in witchcraft/occult'...

it was actually a wiccan saying on her myspace and someone who knew her who stated she was into witchcraft (commonly indicative of wicca).

And it isn't a cult but a neopagan religion.

I can agree on twisted. For too much of history though women who were deemed witches were actually more medicine women knowledgeable of herbs, homeopathic remedies, and local plants and flowers. Modern wicca's kitchen magick. ;)

I'm headed to bed though so the debate's gonna carry on without me. Or not. Night all!

ETA: Oh. And the occult and wicca are very separate entities. Just so you know.

Michael Apelt, who's crimes (first degree felony murder and conspiracy to commit murder in 1988) should be coming up soon. Except his team of highly qualified attorneys are still appealing the fact that he was ruled NOT mentally retarded after a 7 year long appeal. And I'm sure once that appeal is "finalized" (how many times can you rule he's not mentally retarded?) he will return to claiming he didn't even commit the murder. Even though he's already admitted it now, but claimed he was mentally retarded when he did it. Since that appeal wasn't successful, I'm sure they will switch gears to claim something else has been "unfair" to him during these two decades he's been awaiting his sentence to be carried out. This is the insanity of the appeals process.

LOLOL you either are or you are not mentally challenged...you don't all of a sudden STOP being mentally challenged! Ahh the lovely Apelt brothers...Jodi took some killing lessons right out of their playbook. And their lovely lawyers....unbelievable

I am still waiting for Frank Atwood...he has been there since 87. My dad adored watching the news and it was all ablaze when he kidnapped and killed a little girl....he gave me nightmares as a kid.

Kill my kin=death
Don't try to stop me!
Just sayin!

And that's just the attitude and passion, kkdj, that Martinez has showed us thus far -- as many of us have said, he is now speaking for the one who cannot, and he is speaking for his family, his friends, and the People of the State of Arizona. He is offended by this murder, as well, and he wants justice.

Yes and she's an ordinary, textbook one at that. There is nothing particularly special about her. She followed the playbook based on her pathology and nothing more.

She's an empty shell that worships at the Church of Whatever's in Front of Her. That which contains something she wants in that moment.

Evil to be sure but ordinary at the same time.

Oh please enlighten me as to how Travis's slaughter is in anyway connected to illuminati

LOL I could talk all night about it but I won't ....too tired.

It's all about numbers.

In no way am I saying someone else besides JA had anything to do with this murder....that is not what I am saying....

I just read a lot into numbers....that's all.LOL

I'm not wiccan but I've studied it extensively (along with quite a few other spiritualities trying to find my own path) I cannot stress strongly enough that if Jodi were actually wiccan - true in practice and belief - she simply could not have committed this crime.

It defies the very essence, the deepest held belief, of wiccans themselves. 'An ye harm none...'

As for the occult or clandestine knowledge (had to borrow Jodi's fave word) - that too is composed of many things - including astrology, numerology, reading tea leaves, and studying tarot spreads. None of which are even remotely inherently evil or violent. Anyone who claims otherwise really is transposing what they want on a belief system they're unfamiliar with.

No offense meant to anyone though - just things I've studied. (And I've got more than one deck of tarot cards, myself. :blushing:)

If Jodi ascribed a certain pattern or numbers or anything else to her crime I feel very confident in stating those were ALL Jodi and nothing to do with wicca or the occult proper.

Personally I think its very sad that such a horrific, brutal crime would be in any way associated with wicca but that's jmo.

I have been reading on the threads for some time ..people associate people and their actions by their religion. I say bull hockey. just because I was raised any certain fate does not mean that I abide by all of their beliefs. Most people do not. morals and goodness of people are with in them individually. I'm not sure how religious Arizona is to think that's stamping somebody is a Mormon should make them a picture perfect person.

Yep, and they suddenly became mentally retarded overnight when the Supreme Court ruled we can't execute the mentally retarded.

I've said if the SC ruled we can't execute women, suddenly our appellate courts would be filled with experts arguing about chromosomal abnormalities. And I'm not being facetious about that. That's how insane the appellate process for the DP is.

At least though, Jodi Arias, once sentenced to death (as I believe she will be) her daily privileges will be significantly altered. 23 hours in solitude. No karaoke contests and girlfriends and human touch in any form other than handcuffs being placed and removed. There's something to that at least.

Thank you too......
I am way too new here, but I find some of the posts re: "alternative beliefs" ignorant and insulting....so I will go put myself in a time out :innocent:

Is the judge in Pinal Co, or has it gone to state level? Sorry for my ignorance of what level it has gone.

I felt ill reading how they are being made out to be victims, while your sister is somehow being blamed for their predicament. :furious::furious:

ITA. I had not thought about the enormity of what my father did until now. He died unexpectantly 2 years ago. As I weep, I look up at heaven and I passed on your gratitude..You just reminded me of how proud I am to be his daughter.

My own Daddy passed in March 2009. He was always my coach (even if I volunteered him for sports he'd never played: soccer, softball, basketball... When he wasn't head coach he was assistant coach), he was volunteered to be class Dad for baking crafts (because he made all my birthday cakes so clearly he was a professional baker in my eyes lol), and was literally my advocate, warrior and hero. And he was a mere mortal. It's incredible how we value our fathers, when a father does what a father is meant to do, it's just indescribable. Just ask my brother and sister who weren't born with his blood but still feel like that's the blood that pumps through their veins. (And just to rant, why I in kindergarten was challenged by a teacher, "No, sweetie, they are your HALF siblings.", to which I replied, "no, they both belong to ME.... ALL OF THEM, not half." Lol)
But I digress, your Dad did a valiant and notable thing. I hug you virtually from one proud daughter to another. And I'm proud of your Dad too!!

Sorry for sappy, all.... <3

So true. I wish I could pull every strand of her stringy hair out of her head.

The worst thing that could happen for Jodi Arias is for her to be forgotten.

Which, once she's sentenced to death, I intend to do. Unfortunately the system won't allow Travis' family to do so.

But I can understand fully why they want her to receive the DP.

It's reserved for the "worst of the worst" in society and she is the poster child for that.

In some ways she's even worse than my sister's killers. They wanted money . Arias wanted the satisfaction of hurting and ultimately killing him in life and death. And the satisfaction of hurting anyone who loves Travis. She's still enjoying it. She truly personifies evil to me. She's actually one of the most terrifying murderers I've ever encountered and I've followed some trials.

I don't even think Scott Peterson enjoyed the killing of Laci. Not like this evil B****.

We followed the family and TulessA during the Casey Anthony trial and afterwards. She (family) has her own thread here.

Your passion and drive could be synergistic with hers.

Arghhhhh that "half comment" by a teacher made my blood boil!

I adopted my son, and have heard more ignorant comments than I can count. My favorite.... "So are you going to have any real children" to which I replied... I'm going to enjoy my pretend one
