Why is there no court today?:waitasec:

Apparently in AZ, the court does not work on Fridays - or maybe it is just this judge. Maybe Fridays are the day for the court people to catch up on other things that need addressing.

Well, the better half is mad at me for being so interested in this trial. I told him I would not lurk on this forum over the weekend. I am going to have major withdrawals (sp???).
He keeps saying - 'why are you so interested, it is so cut and dry'. Good question but I am totally addicted. I am sneaking a few lurks in while I can.

My husband has never been interested in these case's before but has taken an interest in this one. For some reason the sex part grabbed his attention. He has even chanted Jodi,jodi..He thinks she's as crazy as a mad Hatter and was the aggressor.

I find it odd that Juan uses the word pedestrian to describe dull activities

Why? Far as I know, that's one of it's more common meanings. :)

I LOVE the way JM consistently calls JA 'Ma'am'... reminding everyone that this is a 32-3 year old adult, not the almost teen-like little girl she and her DT are trying to present her as with her appearance, hairstyle, clothes, glasses, voice, pretense of innocence, embarrassment, naivete, frailty, smallness, social awkwardness...

It's not KN's "Miss Arias", or "Jodi", it's MA'AM... heh... I love it.

The way she described vaginal sex as vanilla leads me to believe she knows a bit about the sex industry imo

I figured that when I saw the pictures.:what:

I agree. It seemed Vegas came up often for her. I wondered if she would make trips to Vegas to "work" for awhile to make some easy cash. Or maybe some of those "Salons" that she seemed to know about all in the surrounding cities and states.

I wish we had access to some records of hers--seeing that the girl has no gag reflex when she butchers a man she "loves" the sky's the limit with what she feels comfortable doing in sex work.

I get the sense from her that she's a grifter who gets a kick out of fooling people--posing as a devout Mormon convert who can't speak above a whisper while she engages in pretty kinky sex with Travis. She has no shame. On that sex phone call, Travis is yawning and falling asleep--as a mother and wife, my first instinct was to think "why isn't she saying--hey, are you sleepy, honey? Why don't I let you go." NOPE. She gets a kick out of people's discomfort. Sadistic glee.

I'd also be interested in what type of clothes she wore. Were they from Saks or Forever 21? That's also a good indicator.

I still don't have any kind of fix on what her life looked like when she ran away from home and dropped out of high school at 17 until she killed Travis. I wonder if she had any AKAs. She's a freak, that one.

LOL...When Jodi was saying, or excuse me, let me paraphrase this, Jodi saying that the month of August was a slow month, I thought that is a crock of..Chit...

people dont suddenly stop eating or going out to eat..

heck, I put in my years many many moons ago as a waitress..the summer months were good tips, and always busy for me..

Jodi is such a liar..jmo

I live on the East Coast, but isn't August a brutal month in Arizona -- people want to get away to somewhere cooler?

Not that it matters. JM asked her if she couldn't get a job other than waitressing and she said she never thought of it.

She said it first to describe something, so I wondered if he said it to be sarcastic? I noticed that

1. BMW was left in gear and destroyed behind her U-Haul. She says that the "U-Haul guy" gave her the keys and she took off--keys wouldn't come out if car in gear. Oops!

Now that's a really good question.

I understand that.. So in trade, they should give us 4 twelve hour testimony days :-)

I've heard/read JM being criticized several times last night and today for spending too long on seemingly insignificant details when he should be (insert what critic says he should have done).

In listening to some of the testimony again (and even yesterday, live) any of these issues could have taken moments but for JA.

She fought him on nearly every answer - especially if he wanted a 'yes or no' response, she even disputed him on semantics.

For example, on the braids issue and whether she thought they were hot. He played the tape where, not only was she the one who brought them up in the first place, she then said, unequivocally, on her own furtive recording - that she thought they were hot.

So, yes, she thought they were hot. It took JM several questions for her to admit to what everyone JUST heard her say - and even then, she wouldn't admit it with a simple yes. I thought it was an embarrassing moment for her :) and an annoying one for everyone else.

JA made the issue tedious, not JM. She only answers yes or no willingly when she thinks it's irrelevant or is helpful to her.

Plus like has been posted earlier she showed her snarky combative I'm not afraid of you or ANY man true lying self.

He set her up to appear the very in control ( freak!) that she is. Her triumphant smug grins didn't help nor did her ability to spar with a man who apparently makes her memory loss an issue by bullying her and oh btw like TA had done.

She projects her stalking self onto TA.

The JA double standard she can show up every day at TA BUT he was the jealous abusive and "trying to court me back" bad person she thinks she is portraying.

Trying to make sense whilst dogs wanting out Now!

Hey, who has plans this weekend to go into the mountains with a group of men you don't trust to pan some gold? Count me IN! Got my Glock, bottled water and KY.

Hey, I can do that, I just got some new guns. Wait a minute, I have to go to the grocery store and do laundry. Darn.

She made a huge point to let the jury know she saw Travis on the computer when she snuck in. I'm wondering if after the murder she used his computer to copy the pictures to a CD to keep a set for herself. Just found it interesting how she talked about a CD and his computer. She was doing something on his computer after she killed him.

Im just so glad the washing machine did not destroy the disc in the camera. She could have easily taken the disc out and thrown it away in the desert along with gun.
So glad she is not as smart as she likes to fool people she is.

Judge Stephens presides over other trials, hearings and court matters unrelated to this case (in the morning before JA and in the afternoon after JA) and works a full week, as does the court and the court personnel.

The schedule of THIS case alone is NOT a reflection of the courts' hours of operations or this judge. The judge and attorneys likely always work through lunch and probably barely have time to wolf something down (or take a working lunch unless a matter requires more formality).

This is what I've learned from court observers, folks like Beth Karas, reading HHJSS's court calendar/docket, etc.

I get frustrated at all the jabs at the laziness/cream-puff work pace of the AZ court - even though I know it's just because folks don't know about all the other stuff. So I try to set the record straight.

They all work hard, long hours every weekday, every week.

Just an FYI :)

Exactly. She is also learning the valuable lesson that if she lies, toys with, splits hairs or in any other way does NOT answer the question he asks her her time on the stand will become uncomfortable for her. Her words games get a smack from his imaginary newspaper (THWACK! NO!) on her nose. She CAN tell the TRUTH, but she has to WANT to tell the truth. I thought he did excellent job with her. By the last portion she really was catching on and she was giving up much, much quicker compared to the morning sessions. THWACK! NO!

Next week he will bring her on down to Chinatown. THWACK! NO!

I do not think they are lazy and I know that they have other things they must do.
I know that the lawyers probably are working 20 hours days 7 days a week on this case.
The jury can only comprehend so much in a day.

Now that's a really good question.

(re towing the BMW) I wrote quite a bit about this some while ago. In essence, to get the key out, the car would have been in neutral. Towing in neutral is death to the transmission in a rear-wheel-drive car, eventually. No lubricant is pumped to the drive shaft. :)
