The last one of his face...there are two exact photos floating around. One (dimly lit) was taken by her, the other (enhanced) was manipulated by investigators - they brightened it. The pics she took were definitely low calibre chit. Nothing professional or interesting about them from a "creative" standpoint.

moo

Some photos were enhanced by the police, but there is a CLEAR difference between some of the photos where the flash did not go off, and the couple of photos where the flash provided the additional lighting. :rolleyes:

She kept saying that he just wouldn't stop. I think that was a true memory. I think that Travis didn't die as quickly or as easily as JA thought he would. I think that part, at least, horrified her.

I also think the part where she keeps saying he was so pissed off, more than he had ever been pissed off - I think she was recalling the final argument and confrontation on May 26 when he caught her in a bunch of lies and confronted her and told her never to contact him again.

It was my understanding from weeks and weeks ago the dim ones were those that she deleted and that they had to expand from a from thumbnail recovery verses an actual photo on camera card.Can somebody please verify.

Just found this info:

Use of Dictionary Definitions: The Court first lends dictionary definitions to the terms "especially heinous, cruel, or depraved" in State v. Knapp, 114 Ariz. 531, 562 P.2d 704 (1977). "Webster's Third New International Dictionary defines them as follows:

heinous: hatefully or shockingly evil: grossly bad;

cruel: disposed to inflict pain esp. in a wanton, insensate or vindictive manner: sadistic;

depraved: marked by debasement, corruption, perversion or deterioration."

Id. at 543. The Court recently re-affirmed the use of these dictionary definitions in State v. Murdaugh, 209 Ariz. 19, 31, 97 P.3d 844, 856 (2004).

I'm surprised they aren't also arguing heinous.

Jodi herself said it was in her interrogation. Oh brother.

I think they did argue it. If you read the papers submitted to the supreme court today, iirc, they say that all of the appropriate factors were argued and the only one that was allowed was the victim's suffering (paraphrasing). I think the papers specifically reference heinousness.

Re watching the testimony from yesterday. I keep laughing when Nurmi is looking at the magazine and has his glasses practically in his mouth....it is just goofy. Now every time I see him I remember Katie's description of him lumbering around like The Beast from Beauty and the Beast and that's all I can think of.

There were actually two different pics of Travis facing the camera. One appears to be without flash, and the other one was with the flash. They have two different time stamps.

I have a question, and maybe I missed this somewhere else, but does anyone know what those weird accent marks are in JA's journal? TIA

accentmarks_zps611af369.jpg

I think they're loops from descenders of letters of a line of writing above the top one in this journal entry. The entry above was probably covered up or cropped out of the scan.

Hmmmm! Never connected that.

One other thing she was reported as saying struck the truth cord with me. Channel 5 interviewed a friend/co worker of TA, maybe the last to see them together in public? ( can't find the interview right now grrrr)

The lady said that JA told her that she was moving because she couldn't stand to be just a friend to TA and not his girlfriend/lover....that it hurt too much to stay around him. I think that was the truth from JA and also her motive for the murder. If not me....then no one.

I'm getting to a point where I'm kind of surprised that JA's defense was that the stabbing and shooting was part of some violent sex-thrill that was totally Travis' idea.

"Well after 26 stabbings he seemed to still be enjoying it and then after 27 he wouldn't move. I thought he'd fell asleep so I left."

I wouldn't have put it past her.

ok...i rolled past the sex part of the tape and am listening to the Jodi show of the very long tape of she and Travis. She is going on and on about Alanis Morrisette.

This seals it up for me...JODIE loves her. The link of Alanis Morrisette posted here is so darn creepy...I bet JA loved it. Both travis and her has spent quite awhile discussing her. OMG! I bet she looked up every single morrisette record ever made since travis knew the artist very well.

She goes into that baby voice. He was mesmerized by her. Every single laugh she did was fake. Why men can't see this is beyond me. I guess youth and inexperience plays a part but with men, you never know.

I really wonder how this crime did not qualify for heinous. :waitasec:
