Why was it the defendant's Motion to Compel and not the State's? TIA

I'm assuming they wanted documents or something and the State wasn't producing them.

Funny you say that. (I will quickly delete if inappropriate!)

The Jodi Chronicles www.stephaniehart.com/jodi.htm

OH MY GOSH!!!

You read my mind...

I was thinking of asking you to make one of your hysterical "court room renditions" of JA in a nun's habit!!!

:silly:

:gthanks:

" I love Travis victor Alexander so completely that I don't know any other way to be." She wrote this when they were broken up. I think the second part is true and goes to her motive. She didnt know any other way to be so her life depended on him either being with her or not on the planet.

I think you are exactly right. I've never thought that the attraction was just that he was a successful man but rather that unlike Jodi, he had a LIFE. He had a career, his faith, people who loved him, a home. He was a complete person. She didn't just want Travis she wanted his whole life because she's empty inside.

Hi. I have finally gotten a chance to catch up on the posts here and wanted to post something that really sticks with me. I hope at least one juror gets the same vibe and expresses it during deliberation.
After killing Travis I think Jodi got a thirst for murder. According to Jodi (yeah, I know she lies, but sometimes there is hidden truth in the lies) shortly after killing Travis she goes out and purchases a more lethal gun. The 9mm. She then says that she bought it for protection for her camping trip with several guys she barely knows. By her own words she was willing to put herself in a dangerous situation, but it was ok because if things didn't go her way, no worry because she had a solution, and giving her a reason to kill again. Even if the reason is only in her mind. I don't know that I even believe that there was a camping trip. I just think that she bought the gun with the idea in mind and thirst for killing again. Maybe it was to go after unfinished business with friends and family of Travis, or someone she barely knows. I don't know. I just believe she was already prepared to kill again. I think that she has no remorse for the murder. I think it is just the opposite, that she feels powerful for what she has accomplished.
I don't know if I am explaining it very well. I just believe that if she is ever free again she will become a serial killer because of her whole explanation of why she bought the gun, and has maybe had thoughts for years of killing, and now that she knows she can, she feels powerful by it.

I bet those gold panning men, if they even exist, are breathing a deep sigh of relief about now. And will never think about inviting another woman to come along ever again.

Night owls on the thread? :ohoh: I'm getting a bit down watching the talking heads, I didn't mean to but I couldn't help it. You know I really like JM and I did not think his performance was flawless I thought it was very good and I'm floored at what even respected figures I enjoyed believing she won the day and her comparing his demeanor to TA's was a "slam dunk." Her behavior struck me as disingenuous and while she needs to stay on her game I thought she needed to stay with her meek kitten act and the contrast when she did not was terrible. That and the news media seems to have dismissed the coded magazines or at least not found them to be as much of a bombshell as I felt...

I mean even the people on that dreaded pro-JA site felt she blew it on her confession day so I guess it just goes to show you things can flip at any moment either way (I mean that in a positive way). Oh well, I guess I need fellow Websluther love to keep positive... or a Toblerone/Tootise Pop on the Pop Rocks. XD :drink:

People complain about the average citizen wanting things to be like an episode of CSI or Law & Order, all finished up in one hour, but really I think the so called "analysts" are worse.

I think these types feed off other people's energy. I bet you were exhausted by the time you escaped this draining situation.

Yes. So bad that I am still recovering--it changed me completely. I was positive, energetic, hopeful, healthy. I am a shell of my old self--but definitely getting better all the time. The process is just a lot s l o w e r than I would like.

Another chilling article that resembles JA's actions.

I wonder if Mr Martinez will ask Jodi if she lost any sleep after the murder?
Seems she slept just fine at Mr Burns house, in fact, she did a little bump and grind before going home.

Good point!
We know based on her txt from Jan 22,2008 she was "sleeping" after catching him masturbating to a little boys picture. Oh yes... she had a migraine. ....
Then she was txting Travis around 11pm ?
Wanting to know HOW MUCH LONGER it would be until
he came home....
I wish my migraines were that short!!!

Imo

I think she knew shed hit her pinnacle with Travis. That in her whole life she'd never attract a more charismatic, well loved, attractive, charming, successful and potentially successful, smart, GOOD and challenging man as she found in Travis. It would all be downhill from there. She couldn't stand the thought so we know what she did. Again it's all about HER.

I believe Jodi is a Jezebel who had Travis as a trophy. He was a Godly man who walked with God and she wanted to destroy that with in her mind, IMO.
I think the sex was also a manifestation of the same thing. Thrill seeking and getting off on the manipulation of this Mormon man on the end of the rope she was twisting. I believe she became a Mormon simply to better understand how to manipulate him.

Does anyone know if Matt is still going to be called as a witness for the defense?

One thing that doesn't make sense to me (there are so many with JA) is why she pretends TA got so upset to the point of life-threatening violence over dropping a camera that never even broke! It still was able to take pictures and from my understanding had no physical damage! It's not like she even broke it. She has the lamest excuses roll out of that ugly mug.

I agree but she can not lay all her cards on tha table so she is constantly jocking around trying to find another story to shut people up.

I do not know if I dreamed this or if I heard it.....but I remember that Deanna (Deanne) has TA's journals......anyone?

yes, i think travis was just the beginning. its all about power and control to her. killing gave her a new high. i can see her becoming a hit woman too.

jodi refers to antarctica twice. the first time when she tells of a fight they had, i believe it was right before she moved back to yreka. she said travis slammed the car door after she got in and said why don't you just disappear, like to antarctica or something. then to explain why she went to his funeral she said they had a pact to attend each others funerals. he said he'd go to mine even if it was in antarctica. ( she went to his memerial service, but not the funeral just to be accurate) i think she thought about killing him when he told her to disappear. i think even if she gets the dp, to her last day she will never admit he rejected her nor will she ever admit she was a jealous stalker. i would be thrilled if travis documented all her antics somewhere and it comes out in court.

That's pretty interesting. I've been wondering, when would the premeditated planning have started? And, I've been wondering if the move out of Mesa was the first step of her plan.

That trip seemed so well orchestrated, with the gas cans, turning off the cell, embedded in another itinerary, Ryan cover story, stealing the gun and throwing it in the desert afterwards, the rope [did she bring the rope? otherwise why take it with her when she left the house], the knife, the hair color--it all shows very careful planning. And, if she was out of state when it happened, and it couldn't be proven otherwise, even better.

Let's face it, without a few key mess ups--the bloody palm print, the camera,--the police would not easily be able to prove she was even there. There were no witnesses. They may not have even spent much time investigating her, either.

IMO

Now that would be an interesting slippery slope.

I heard from Travis friend that Jodi stole and burned at least some of his journals.

If you accidentally shot someone you love the first time you ever used a gun, you'd never want to touch one again! Unless you are JA and it wasnt an accident at all...

Something else - seems petty by comparison to all she has done, but didnt she testify that coffee/tea drinking was not acceptable in the Mormon faith (Travis drank a special tea that was ok) - but how many strawberry frappachinos did she have over the years? Shows she is the one that didnt take the 'rules' seriously and I have no doubt she never tried to abstain - from go she was sexually aggressive didnt stop trying to get him to have sex with her until she did

Now that would be an interesting slippery slope.

i can't see how they'd dare put him on the stand. the ONLY way i could see him testifying would be if he cut a deal with the state to testify against her.
